The real version of this story is Limmy wouldn't let him go, he wanted to leave sooo bad but Limmy begged him to stay every night, " just one more night pleease". He even unplugged his alarm clock at one point in the hope he could spend the whole day with him. Until he could take no more and left, never to be seen again. This is what broke Brian Limond.

That's called a monologue, or soliloquising, and is ancient entertainment (eg "To be, or not to be?"). Other comedians like Dave Allan and Ronnie Corbett used to do a lot of it. Limmy is naturally good at it and I love listening. If I had more time, I would listen to more Limmy.

I love listening to Limmy and his observations from a distance. But as I'm sure he wouldn't want me as a friend I wouldn't want him as a friend. He is the guy at concerts with his arms crossed and the guy at the party judging everyone with his eyes. Either he would say he doesn't like someone or he would not say it but you'd feel it. Maybe that's just his comedic persona, but if not that would just be insufferable. However, I appreciate his intelligence and on point observations.

This story reminds me of the time James Corden hijacked my cab outside Sugar Hut. I was about to head home and he grabs the door and say’s “You going my way?” I said No I don’t think so.
