@@Royal.Knowledge I honestly replied that I like every music Because it adds life to the parade. I can't wait to watch the King's first birthday parade!
@@lsmith9249 Oh yes! I've always wanted to know & understand more about our armed forces and being able to witness all this is a lot of fun but also allows me to learn more!
This could be a sign we may see the Princess of Wales on horseback for the first time as Colonel of the Irish Guards. Note three horses behind the Kings, which will be for Prince William and Princess Anne but the third one? We know Camilla will be in the carriage, the Duke of Kent certainly wont be on horseback, Prince Edward isnt a royal colonel, which leaves the only other Royal Colonel, The Princess of Wales.
It will be Prince Edward (for the first time!) as Colonel of The London Guards, according to the programme! Camilla & Kate will follow in the carriage.
@@Anonymoususer44569 Yes, it might sound abrupt, but surely it's dictated by the circumstances. What's more important: that the music continues to the end, or that soldiers hear the orders given. I would say the latter.
Actually, I was hoping someone may help me with that...it says they play six bars of the National Anthem but it doesn't sound like the National Anthem to me! I wonder if they play something different when the King isn't there? Does anyone know please!?
@@Royal.Knowledge It's actually the "General Salute", which always consists of a few bars of the regimental slow march played in quick time. That's how compliments are paid to non-royals. If you listen to the words of command of the Field Officer in-brigade-waiting, you can hear him shout "General Salute" instead of the "Royal Salute" (not on this particular video though). So the anthem was played on the Colonel's Review and obviously the Review by the King.
Thank you very much for posting this video! 👍👏
Thank you so much!
Thank you. It’s great to hear the names of the marches.
It's fascinating isn't it and how they all have meaning behind what they play!
Great video! I really liked the "Let the hills resound" and "Welsh Diadem" Thank you very much for posting this on RUclips !
An absolute pleasure, it's wonderful to be able to share such a historic occasion! I'm not sure I can decide which is my favourite!!

@@wasawat.cnetprahas It's quite something that it's is first, along with the Queen!
The Foot Guards are part of the Household Division
Thank you for clarifying!

MRaun the 2nd and final rehearsal is on the 10th

12:52 I really wish they would finish the phrase before stopping. It sounds weird when they cut off the music in the middle of the piece
It is quite abrupt isn't it? I wonder what the reason is. Maybe just time management but no clue!
The band usually cuts out so that an order can be given.
@@kesterbathgate4531 I mean, they can’t play for another three seconds?
Me too..sounds so blunt..at least a decrescendo...

Did the bwnds not play the National Anthem when they were supposed to, several times you said it was played but it wasn't?

But we didn't have the National Anthem in its entirety at all, I imagine they save that for the 17th June when The King is there!
@@Royal.Knowledge A few bars of "Men of Harlech" played quickly, starting at 13:43, is what I heard.
