I wonder if there is a way to use the bearskin hat to help prevent The Guards from passing out due to the heat? As it is effectively a long tube the height of it could be used to create airflow from around the circumference of the Guards head toward the top of Bearskin. Effectively this would use the chimney principle. The airflow would be relatively small but it would be there. I assume the inside of the Bearskin is probably made of some fairly rigid dark material? If so, it will probably get warm via solar radiative heating. This would then mean the inside of then tube would be warmer than ambient in the warm sunny conditions we see in this video. The wall of the tube would tend to heat the air mass inside the hollow tube of the bearskin. This means the air is slightly pressurised and any vents toward the top of the tube would allow this excess pressure to escape. The bearskin would need a small number (three?) of open/close-able vent ports towards the top of the vertical walls of the bearskin (not one’s at the top as even when closed they would probably leak rain water in). The vent ports would need to be on a latch mechanism so they were stable in both the open and closed position. The would be almost invisible under the black hairs of the outer Bearskin. I know it is breaking traditions to develop the Bearskin, but sometimes traditions need to be modified in light of operating conditions. The operation of the ports could be achieved via a modification to the chins strap. Has this sort of idea been tried in the past?

When the Irish Guards do the trooping they usually commission a special bottle of beer for every soldier who took part in the parade, when other regiments do it would probably depend on who can use the mess after the day's duties. The Harry Robertshaw special brew with compliments of the Irish Guards originated from a Private by that name (they were not called Guardsmen then) who died on France during World War one. His parting words to his family as he shipped out was "Buy my friends a drink" . His surviving family members donated the funds for this tradition to be kept.

‘The Show Must Go On’
Makes me proud to be in the Commonwealth! This is part of what brings us closer together 🇦🇺🎉
Amazing! It's like a movie in reality.😍👏
Love William and everything he seems to do is kind and honourable. God Bless his character and his family.
Love the British traditions ❤
🇺🇸 Well done! Respect for the Guard and the Beautiful horses. Again Well done.
To the new King Charles the 3rd,
Congratulations on your day. Long live the King!
To your devoted troops, be it on foot or hoof you were magnificent!
Thank you for showing such detail to your traditions.
I realize it is your day, sir, but I do miss the Queen. She was worthy and did a great service to the crown.
May God shine so on the commonwealth.
I love the tradition and how Britain beautifully remembers and celebrates it.
Only three collapsed? In that heat they all did well..watching from Australia.
Everything about England it's like a episode out of movie, almost sureal.. The carriages, soldiers dressed in perfection based on cultural tradition, horses, and all the events are so well organized.. Truly magnificent as everything that involves royalty! #2023 ❤🧡💛💚💙💜
Never lock you knees, that way you won't pass out. My dad, who was in many of these types of ceremonies, told me that little smippet.
Hiya oh truly appreciate the visit great coverage. Our fave guard 7 min mark. Oh thought The Prince of Wales so regal and his Horse sorry don’t know name seemed to get into the rhythm no worries we’ve got this lol. The soldiers bless hope they all recovered. Thankyou for sharing 🐝🇨🇦
Is it just me or…..how beautifully HRH Prince William sits a horse!!! ALL the women and men did a masterful job and every British citizen must be beaming with pride❣️💯👏🏻
This is what makes you feel proud to be British , the training and dedication that these men put in is truly amazing and breathtaking, and the colours of uniforms and the horses and carriages true splendour that no other country can even come close to .
♥LOL from the USA

The UK does this better than everyone, Discipline is Amazing
God Bless them All when they actually Fight, which of course they do as Elite Forces, The Guards
I was fortunate enough to get tickets - and what a remarkable ceremony; absolutely magnificent each and everyone of them!
Although I wasn't lucky enough to get tickets to see the offical birthday ceremony on the 17th June, I will get on The Mall , seeing our excellent soliders and all of the hard work each have put in!
God Save The King!
Poor horses, all need to be praised for the dedication and duty to our country.
My father was in the Kings Troop RHA .
This is their busy season just now .
After all the ceremonials are over the horses usually go on holiday to the country.
Lots of grass, swimming and just generally messing about .
Beautiful creatures !
This is beautiful and mesmerising 🎉breathtaking PE and all the smartest parade strong army.
Super glad you enjoyed our video! Definitely an incredible experience to see it up close. You can feel the dedication from each and everyone!! 🙏
Truly these Soldiers are Breathtaking to watch. I’m praying that the Trouping of The Colours is NEVER stopped. I’m so sorry that I’m not living in England anymore. 😢😢😢💙💙💙💙💙💙🇬🇧🇨🇦
An immaculate, breathtaking show, as always!! 🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧
How the heart swells with pride, an exemplary display of virtues sadly lacking in much of society these days.
🇺🇸💖🇬🇧
***** SUPERB BRILLIANT --- Filming !! Many Thanks !!
Two words…just spectacular.
They will surely need a cold beer after this !
After an intense day like this, a refreshing treat would go down well. Cheers!
Brits like their beer room temp.
@@Nancy-tr5fi Since most drink chilled lager these days you are about 50 years out of date.
So proud of these men.
True Respect for The British Military!! No one does it Better! Extreme elegance! Extreme class! Dicipline!! Great Country!! Enjoyed the cerimony!!! 🇬🇧👑⚜🙌

This was so wonderful! So sorry weather was so hot! There is nothing in the world to match the Trooping of the Colour. Wonderful! Thank you Prince William and thank you, too, all dedicated servicemen. GOD bless you every one!
