That was a beautiful song. I met Karen in Jamaica a few years ago and we sang "Angel from Montgomery" by John Prine. Sorry to say we lost him to covid. Thank you for the memories Karen. I knew you'd be a star one day and I was right.
As a German-American living in Germany, I am constantly reminded of the scars of war. Those boys helped change and saved the world by giving the ultimate sacrifice so that we can all be free. Although it is a moral debt that can never be paid back - I salute and give thanks to every one of those - regardless of what country they were from - who fought for the world’s freedom. May those who died have a special place in heaven and were able to touch the face of God.

To all those that served, especially those that gave their all. In all theatres of battle. Thanks to this generation for showing the way. That Freedom is never free. God Bless them all. My Uncle passed a few yrs. ago, he was with the 100th Bomber Group/bombardier on the sights. He would never tell us about it. Except it was written up in the local paper back then. About the time they ditched/parachuted over France. It was easy for him to convince the locals he wasn't German. My family is from NJ & Chinese. They gave him soup, wine, bread +substitute butter. His buddy's had a little harder time convincing the people they encountered. No one spoke English where they all landed, but all were recovered & returned home.
Thank you for putting the spotlight on one of America's national treasures. Too many are too often overlooked and forgotten in today's society.
