I couldn't waste any time. Travelling back home for test or treatment could mean death. The hospital I landed at that moment, let's say, didn't offer the best medical care, specially due to lack of funds, and political turmoil in that country. The personnel was extremely hardworking and caring, but the infrastructure and resources they had were not optimal to help them with their duty. It seems they didn't have the appropriate anesthetic, or the one they used was, I don't know... expired? Hehe, whatever they injected, made no effect. The female doctor that tried extracting the marrow, she couldn't pierce the hip bone, and she tried three times in three different places. Torture. Again, I got virtually no anesthesia. I grabbed the metal bars of the bed, and focused my mind on those two songs: Flying and Blue Jay Way. And somehow used the sound landscapes to manipulate my mind and take my consciousness out of what my body was going through. Eventually a male doctor came and was able to extract the sample. Most excruciating pain in my life. Those two songs, which I love and have listened to thousands of times since early childhood, to me have more than the usual meaning, and are measured in a way that transcends the artistic quality of the piece.

Paul was the Beatle who first experimented with tape loops and set Tomorrow Never Knows down its sonic path. John just came in strumming a guitar when he brought that song to the group.

Tomorrow Never Knows; a psychedelic rock-based (because it still rocks) song that sounded like nothing before or since, an truly experimental and innovative masterpiece, even today it sounds fresh and modern. #2. A Day In The Life; with a unique approach to psychedelia through orchestration and incredible vocals especially from John, magnus opus masterpiece. #3. Strawberry Fields Forever; a quite dream-like unique song, the chord progression is amazing, a song that regardless of age and context causes nostalgia, definitely a timeless psychedelic and progressive masterpiece. #4. I Am The Walrus; one of the most (if not THE MOST) sophisticated Beatles' songs, probably the most enigmatic John's lyrics ever written, the pure psychedelic rock combination with G. Martin's arrangements is nothing short of wonderful. #5. Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds; probably the most psychedelic in absolute terms (at least in Sgt. Peppers). #6. I'm Only Sleeping; based on both acoustic and electric guitars (with a explendid guitar solo in reverse), a wonderful and underrated song that both in lyrics and music leaves a "sleepy" psychedelic feeling. #7. She Said She Said; a genius song, It even feels acid at times, It creates a really unique and disturbing atmosphere, it isn't Tomorrow Never Knows, but it still doesn't sound like nothing before, way ahead of its time. #8. Only a Northern Song, Being For The Benefit of Mr Kite, Flying, Baby You're a Rich Man are also pretty psychedelic. One could even argue that Revolution 9 was psychedelic too.
The orchestra and the "ahhs" are literally the only things psychedelic about that song (if that even counts as psychedelic). I think they should have not counted A Day in the Life and replaced it with Only A Northern Song (which actually has psychedelic written all over it).
Should have made a list of all The Beatles Psychedelic songs from least to most. Norwegian Wood would perhaps be the least but was their first true Psych track. Actually a lot of Beatles songs(especially from 66-67) even have small bits of Psychedelia, like the ending of the Magical Mystery Tour track, I Want To Tell You(the main guitar riff with Paul’s bass) and Flying especially the ending

The orchestra and the "ahhs" are literally the only things psychedelic about that song (if that even counts as psychedelic). I think they should have not counted A Day in the Life and replaced it with Only A Northern Song (which actually has psychedelic written all over it).
Should have made a list of all The Beatles Psychedelic songs from least to most. Norwegian Wood would perhaps be the least but was their first true Psych track. Actually a lot of Beatles songs(especially from 66-67) even have small bits of Psychedelia, like the ending of the Magical Mystery Tour track, I Want To Tell You(the main guitar riff with Paul’s bass) and Flying especially the ending
