First, get a leaser measuring tool. There is no way that you measured correctly.
second, if it's not a rented house. you can get an ethernet cable that goes from the downstairs service wifi router... I assume your service will provide you with a wifi router and not a hub. You can then send the ethernet cable upstairs inside or outside the home and attach it to another wifi router that you will buy/own and have full control over. It will provide the best connection without the home on all levels. If it is a rented home, just ask the landlord if you can drill the two whole in the house that will allow you to send the ethernet cable out and back into the home. if you can't drill the holes outside, just get more ethernet cable and have it go along the house floor and up the stairwell. that will be a lot more work but you don't have to ask for permission. Mainly since it will not be permanent, like drilling holes.
Just in case, if you decide to go the drilling route. drill the upstairs whole first, and send the cable out with a nice plate to make it look good. seal the whole correctly so to stop wind and bugs. Do the same for the whole coming back into the house. either way, get a staplegun.
If I live in Japan I would have already had this done for you.

Enjoy and write everything, they grow up so fast and also, I don't know how things are in Japan, but when I was enrolling my son in kindergarten ((in Mexico), the teacher asked me a lot of things about when they were babies and I didn't remember many things.
That's why I'm glad video is so easy to take now, even just looking back on these clips I'm like "wow, it was really a blur!!!"

Congratulations on your new little one and new home!! I just discovered your channel and have been catching up to this point! What a fun journey. We did a similar move at the very end of my first pregnancy. Moved in 2 weeks before my due date, then she was nearly 2 weeks over-due! Gave me time to get things ready for her at least lol. You're doing great! Enjoy these precious moments because they are over so soon. The days are long but the years are short! Hang in there mama, looking forward to your new video when you get to it. it's so insane how hard it is to get internet set up in japan, in my apartment it took almost a month as well and i didn't understand WHYYYYY, in america i used to work for Spectrum internet and they have so many local sector stores that you can pick up your own hardware and set it up, and if it doesn't work, they can send out a tech within 3 days max, often next day and it takes less than an hour. i know a lot of it is japanese business semantics and thats just how japan is but UGGHHH

I'm mad jealous of your hospital food, here in Ontario it was basically garbage. I've heard in Japan it's harder to get an epidural, though, so I wonder what that's like (was a non-issue for me, I ended up with an emergency C-section). Hope your family is all doing well!

oh man! we went through the same thing with the wifi in our current place, we only had 2 options for companies for fiber optic, and both were like 1-2 months to get a technician out, which were contracted technicians and not employed by the internet companies, ugh, lol. my partner wanted to wait unto we had moved in to get it set up so that we weren't paying for 2 wifi accounts, even though we had the keys to the new/current place for a little over a month before moving in, which he regretted. When we did move we were living off my phone data for a solid month, it was horrible

This is so crazy, I hope fiber is also in japan. I have fiber and get 700-1000mbps up and down hard lined to the modem and 500-900 when I am not hard lined. I am almost never out of my house so I never use my data it just rolls over each month and is collected. Is fiber an option there?
