Last week I was picked up from home by the hospital, had a surgical procedure, given a hot meal soup, main, protein drink, dessert, tea, sandwich, yogurt and ice cream over 6 hours, driven home. It cost me nothing, no bill. I earn $120K and pay 33% tax, willingly. Free GP visits for kids. Our system isn’t perfect but we have a large social safety net. Embrace change US, you deserve it.

I have doubts on how much any president has influence on the private sector pricing. Consumer prices are determined from the corporate C-level officers seeking to please investors (ROI). Any bad economy should be directed ultimately to investors. Corporations and down to rank and file employees are at the mercy of investors. At least, in our “free” market, competitive pricing is supposed to keep consumers prices lower. Price gouging that Harris/Walz are proposing is one technique to help keep prices at reasonable levels. But if existing corporations continue their business model as usual then maybe this could open opportunities for other companies to compete for consumers.

I have doubts on how much any president has influence on the private sector pricing. Consumer prices are determined from the corporate C-level officers seeking to please investors (ROI). Any bad economy should be directed ultimately to investors. Corporations and down to rank and file employees are at the mercy of investors. At least, in our “free” market, competitive pricing is supposed to keep consumers prices lower. Price gouging that Harris/Walz are proposing is one technique to help keep prices at reasonable levels. But if existing corporations continue their business model as usual then maybe this could open opportunities for other companies to compete for consumers.
