So Sketch managed to escape the comic book, with Alissa, who originated from the comic book, in tow. That pretty much means Sketch created his own real waifu.
Meta E. You do have a point (I mean, Sega by itself gave "treasures" like Golden-Axe: Beast Rider and Project Altered Beast). But Comix Zone was released in a time where beat-em ups became stale, and because of that, people never gave a chance to this one.
benomidfinger Very true, and Comix Zone was made of pure awesomeness. If it ever does happen, I hope they keep the original playstyle, rather than change it for the new-gen, because that's usually where all the badness comes from in the treatment.
Meta E. The game's pretty straightforward at heart. If it gets a remake that stays true to the original game's mechanics, like they did to, say, Double Dragon Neon, it could be a cool thing.
benomidfinger Yes and no. DDN had issues. It was a step down from DD3. I know that seems overly harsh, but if you consider how in-depth the combat system was for DD3 you might understand what I mean. More than anything it is simply fashionable to hate DD3. Getting off-topic here... anyway, as long as they aren't lazy about creating a good game engine and aren't focused on cash-grabbing like with DDN, a Comix Zone reboot would be a great idea.
Carter Pike well chances that you are transported to your comic without the "help" of mortus are low and so the chances of getting alissya out by herself without help of sketch or the nuke explosion
So a comic book artist gets put into his comic book by his own OC, and if you beat the game with the good ending he leaves the book with another of his OCs and then they kiss? Sounds like something straight out of AO3 to me.
Yeah, I know he was alright in the good ending, it also mentioned him in the text afterwards. It's only in the Game Over sequence that he (mostly likely) dies.
It is stated in the manual, in this "Artist's Profile" pannel that appears before the comic, that Sketch got the influence to draw his comic by some frightening nightmares. He even hints that Comix Zone may be really happening in another dimension or something. That means that the being Mortus (and/or Alissa) was already existing before Sketch started the comic, and Comix Zone serves somehow as a link for him with the real world. In such case there is no way that Sketch can recreate Alissa once she is dead. However it's not explained why Mortus needs to kill Sketch in order to gain a real body but Alissa doesn't. I can only think that if Sketch isn't killed, he will eventually reach the end of the story and stop Mortus from attacking the real world with a real body.
Martes draws so hard, he breaks a pencil every time and if you look in one of the cut scenes, there's only 4 pencils in a cup he already uses all of them spawning in minions and that's why they trap that person inside the nuke themself
The good guys in the comic have to make it to the end of the comic and succeed in order to escape, but the bad guy has to kill the hero to escape. think it as a comic logic, it kinda makes sense
I never knew that ending existed. Mortis just said "How could you let her drown?"And... nothing happened. My character was trapped on that last panel for eternity. I thought that was intentional.
Wondering when Banjo-Kazooie is gonna be in this list...I had to DIVE across the room to shut off the N64 whenever I save and quit the game before the Game Over movie played, even just the music gave me chills D:
Man, I used to play Comix Zone on this epic Genesis remake think for the PlayStation 3, and I loved this game. The art style is epic, and the fighting mechanincs kick ass. What a brilliant game.
Oh man, I love this game. Glad to see you've played it. Personally I've never been scared by this bad ending, since I thought it would be weird that a guy would relive all that just to bring his creation to life.
From what I understand, the health mechanic coming from Sketch destroying parts of the world is because he's now ink and paper, and henceforth part of the comic world. ...It was some explanation I read in the manual, and personally I think it's BS, but... As I recall, there was a mechanic in the game Sketch could use to tear off a piece of the background and fold it into a paper airplane to attack enemies with. Did some damage, but also took off a chunk of health upon doing it...
Thank you for this video! This game WAS a pain back in the day, and the GAME OVER did spook me when I was younger. Genesis games had that power to really make you feel bad that you didn't complete the game. We need more endings like that in today's games. And I agree that Alissa wasn't alive to begin with either. Maybe now he can create a hotter chick this time! LOL
i think the reason the comic book doesn't get destroyed is because the nuke didn't have enough fuel to launch..and the nuke was required to destroy the comic book and alissa's empire hense why if u lose or the bad ending is achieved the rocket in both situations has enough fuel to be launched...while in the good ending..the prison gets opened and the fuel emptied..therefore no fuel to launch the nuke
I'm digging the creativity, art style and the rock music. And also the fact that kind of art manages on the SNES! I'll check this out. (Although I suck badly at platformers AND beat 'em ups.)
So far I've not played any of the games in this playlist of creepy bad endings, until this one, I didn't play much of this, but I can remember the menu screen very clearly, I have a Sega collection disc for ps2 and I'm pretty sure this game was in it somewhere, unfortunately you have to meet certain conditions in other games to even unlock this game to be playable, so I never got to it very often.
Alissa:I'm drowning Sketch:Don't worry I save you but first let me smell my socks... Alissa:What? Sketch:hummm...Urgh this stinks I shoulld really wash them more times *puts socks and shoe in his feet again* Now where was I? Alissa: .... Sketch:Oh great...
agreed. that occasional "hey" or "listen" or "look" or "watch out" with some simple dialouge isn't so bad, but Fi? oh my god, when she has something to say, she will NEVER just let you be. she has to give you an annoying beeping sound untill you answer, and when you do, she says something completeley obvious and slow paced!!! hey Fi! news flash! YOU'RE THE MOST ANNOYING SIDEKICK THE WORLD HAS EVER KNOWN!!! the only reason we need her is because she SOMETIMES actually helps. god, that's terrible.
I remembered playing this game for the Sega Genesis classic atgames console a bunch of times. I was trying to get as far into the whole entire game as possible, but I kept getting the same ass game over screen over & over again... Remember This game has no extra lives. So if you die once, twice, or thrice... The game is all over
I finished Comix Zone on the PS2 in the Sonic Mega Collection Plus, I needed save states to do it properly though. I finished it at about 6! But, now, to the main point of this comment. I never found the bad ending to Comix Zone creepy at all, I was also never enraged enough to go totally nuts. Maybe it's just me.
The comic didnt get destroyed because it got sold, as said in the large stream of text. On a side note, how could he "re-live his adventure in hope of a better ending" if he burned his comic? Wouldn't he have to re-draw everything?
I play this two years ago; but got the bad ending because i thought was going to be a simple fight. I really wasn't paying to any switches. I never played after i beat it because it was exhausted playing it normally; so i had to use cheat codes.
A curious thing about the JPN release... is the fact that the game gives you up to 5 extra lives compared to the extra 2 of the overseas versions (1-up each time you get to the next page).
I can't remember if Sonic Mega Collection was E or T rated. Ignore this if it is T rated, but if it is E, how? It included Comix Zone. So how is the rating possible?
Six pages? What a short comic book! But lucky for Sketch he didn't draw manga, he'd be stuck in them a lot longer and have to do everything backwards! XD
I could never get the final boss to go to the lowest level to hit him with the rocket. He just stuck to the upper levels and refused to move. Sometimes literally. I think he somehow managed to get stuck or something, but who knows? I've tried the battle on multiple platforms, with different debug codes enabled, etc. But that jerk refuses to kill himself. How impolite.
Those only appear for people who have a computer that's been infected. Make sure your antivirus is up-to-date, and do a scan of your computer, fixing all the problems. If that doesn't fix it, download "Spyware Search and Destroy" let it scan and fix your computer. If THAT doesn't fix it, its probably caused by a toolbar or other program you explicitly allowed a program to install on your computer. At that point, maybe try a different internet browser than the one with the problem (Chrome?)
3:30 I know it's probably for the sake of the video, but I do hope you know you're supposed to use the dynamite on that door. ...Which I guess you already showed on another door later in the vid, so yay. ;P Also, a Shoulder-bash (hold forward and attack while "pushing" against an object) breaks stuff faster with less damage to you. ...GAME TACTICS IN A STORYLINE OBSERVATION VIDEO AHOY :V
I always found the game over screen creepy, but it pales slightly in comparison with the Game Over and Endings in The Ooze, which I think you should do.
Episode 21: ruclips.net/video/mmZj3HvdhQ4/видео.html
So Sketch managed to escape the comic book, with Alissa, who originated from the comic book, in tow.
That pretty much means Sketch created his own real waifu.
Lucky bastard.
@@jamesesterline I feel ya xD
@@jamesesterline exactly
Also predicted earths downfall and actually became a super hero.
I know this comment is trying to advertise malware or something, but it makes it sound more like Instagram's security is just complete shit.
- "I am drowning!"
*Sketch removes his boot and sniffs it* "Lol, I couldn't care less!"
8:47 Sketh: Oooh man
Love how she dies almost immediately after that
4:28 "I can live with humans dying, but animals? That's crossing the line!" Coming from someone who has made multiple Tails Abuse videos.
I hope, it was this classic Git's sarcasm.
the rat is the true hero in this game
tiniracoon Pretty much...
tiniracoon ELECTRIC RAT ?
Without him you could not beat the game
Amen
Omg mortal kombat dev
This is a game that truly deserves a reboot treatment in the next gen consoles. It's a heresy that it didn't get it, just yet.
Careful what you wish for. I've seen too many great games get raped by new-gen treatments.
Meta E. You do have a point (I mean, Sega by itself gave "treasures" like Golden-Axe: Beast Rider and Project Altered Beast).

Couldn't he just redraw Alyssa? Or the whole comic. Just leave our Mortus and everything will be fine. There all just his creations anyway.
Carter Pike well chances that you are transported to your comic without the "help" of mortus are low and so the chances of getting alissya out by herself without help of sketch or the nuke explosion

I remember playing this so many times on Sega Genesis Collection. Such a great game.
I remember Sketch smellings his sock when he does nothing in-game! I miss this game so much.
Yes, Fi pissed me off to no end. People say Navi was bad, but I never really minded her; Fi is easily the most annoying Zelda sidekick ever.
Martes draws so hard, he breaks a pencil every time and if you look in one of the cut scenes, there's only 4 pencils in a cup he already uses all of them spawning in minions and that's why they trap that person inside the nuke themself
Wait...but if Mortus had to kill Sketch to come to life, why is Alissa able to become real without any problems/having to kill an actual human?
Ehm magic :3
SSFplayer2 I guess xD Now if only Ib went "LOLMAGIC" for one of its endings >.
Yeah you mean the with going trough the pic and losing the mind
The good guys in the comic have to make it to the end of the comic and succeed in order to escape, but the bad guy has to kill the hero to escape. think it as a comic logic, it kinda makes sense
Yeah. So essentially LOLCOMICLOGIC.
I never knew that ending existed. Mortis just said "How could you let her drown?"And... nothing happened. My character was trapped on that last panel for eternity. I thought that was intentional.
Roadkill, a rat who can use electric powers to shock his enemies...
I shall name my Pikachu 'Roadkill'.
Sketch sure had to go to extraordinary lengths to get himself a girlfriend.
Wondering when Banjo-Kazooie is gonna be in this list...I had to DIVE across the room to shut off the N64 whenever I save and quit the game before the Game Over movie played, even just the music gave me chills D:
that's a game over not a bad ending XD
He's used GOs in this series too though
the ideas in my head that came from this...
I think the comic is destroyed because of the nuke, somehow?
Man, I used to play Comix Zone on this epic Genesis remake think for the PlayStation 3, and I loved this game. The art style is epic, and the fighting mechanincs kick ass. What a brilliant game.
Oh man, I love this game. Glad to see you've played it. Personally I've never been scared by this bad ending, since I thought it would be weird that a guy would relive all that just to bring his creation to life.
Did he just create a girl, then end up with that girl? Damn
This ending made me genuinely depressed for about a week until I finally went back and got the good ending.
Oh hell yeah. One of my favorite Genesis games along with the Ooze even though hard as hell a decent game. I have others but too lazy to tell.
A rat with electric powers? Where have I heard that before...
From what I understand, the health mechanic coming from Sketch destroying parts of the world is because he's now ink and paper, and henceforth part of the comic world. ...It was some explanation I read in the manual, and personally I think it's BS, but...

i just love your intro so much 😍
hillarious xD

Sketch:...
*sniffs foot*
So?
You don't have to apologise, you once again managed to entertain us, as always! :D
BTW, have you seen my CBE suggestion yet?
Well, at least Roadkill the rat survived...
i love the startup screen on that game
"test, 1, 2..._SEEEEEGA_"
... Thank you, Fi.

Poor Lub Lub, he gets stuck with the worst Zelda companion. I suppose there's some polar opposite force that got lucky and got Midna.
“I can live with humans dying, but animals?” This guy gets it
I’m get disturbed when a human dies but he gets it
What happens if you get killed during the final battle? Does the game over event change in any way?
no
I'm digging the creativity, art style and the rock music. And also the fact that kind of art manages on the SNES! I'll check this out. (Although I suck badly at platformers AND beat 'em ups.)
Comix Zone is one of the best games of it's era.
I REMEMBER FINDING THIS GAME HIDDEN AT MY COUSIN'S BASEMENT! It was amazing!!
Lol:
Hank Hill: Sega
8:45 Give me a minute I'm just taking a breather.
*10 seconds later*
Okay I'm ready where's the switch?
He does realize that there is actually TWO pet-concerned orangiziations? Will you take any offensive postions against someone if someone's pet dies?
Alissa:I'm drowning
Sketch:Don't worry I save you but first let me smell my socks...
Alissa:What?
Sketch:hummm...Urgh this stinks I shoulld really wash them more times *puts socks and shoe in his feet again* Now where was I?
Alissa: ....

It looks like you're out of REALLY creepy endings, huh.
Nice adding voices in a Sega Genesis
Master Link, the batteries on your wiimote are running low.
8:40 XD Look at you, watching like a psychopath.
Wait, isn't there an ending that you don't beat the evil main villain and the nuke still explodes?
LOL It's like a lot of lonely people's dream come true, to draw their significant other and have them come alive!
I knew it, I knew u would do comix zone XD
I remembered playing this game for the Sega Genesis classic atgames console a bunch of times. I was trying to get as far into the whole entire game as possible, but I kept getting the same ass game over screen over & over again...
Remember
This game has no extra lives.
So if you die once, twice, or thrice...
The game is all over
but everyone crys at the good bye...
I don't remember that blue Sega logo at the startup.
I think he wants attention. I love your videos, i don`t see anything wrong on them, so i believe this guy is crazy or something.
Only people who've made themselves a girlfriend
1. Sketch Turner
2: Thanos (Comics)
Roadkill, the first electrical rodent I've ever seen.
Pikachu wants to talk with you.
roadkill was first, bub
You made me squee loudly and woke people up. Thank you! XD
Used to play this game when I was young wasn't able to finish the whole game
Until?! Must've missed that back in the day!
Mortus's cackle sounds suspiciously like a pitched-up Shao Kahn... O_o
I finished Comix Zone on the PS2 in the Sonic Mega Collection Plus, I needed save states to do it properly though. I finished it at about 6! But, now, to the main point of this comment.

maybe he saves the day instead of sketch when he dies
A curious thing about the JPN release... is the fact that the game gives you up to 5 extra lives compared to the extra 2 of the overseas versions (1-up each time you get to the next page).
Ah, the game that I never finish.
I can't remember if Sonic Mega Collection was E or T rated.
Ignore this if it is T rated, but if it is E, how? It included Comix Zone. So how is the rating possible?
I've tried this once, but I never understood it, and quite hard. I'll give it another go and see how i'll do.
I knew Comix Zone's ending would find its way into this series
Yeah, it's quite a shame. I was definitely disappointed by the two Wii entries. I do hope that the Wii U title will be the best since Wind Waker.
10:04 Oh shit, is that confirmation that Lub-Lub, despite his all powerful nature, can be killed
uhh not that I was looking for that or anything
How about doing an episode on School Days? You can't get much worse than the bad endings in that game.
Best captain text ever.
Six pages? What a short comic book! But lucky for Sketch he didn't draw manga, he'd be stuck in them a lot longer and have to do everything backwards! XD

I remember seeing you before on a bunch of videos for the Dynamite Headdy soundtrack..
Comix Zone Looks Like A Weird & Obscure Game.
Not as weird as "The Ooze"
This looks like an underrated Genesis classic...am I going crazy?
Is that Hank Hill saying Sega at the beginning?

Yes, if your talking about People Eating Tasty Animals.
I think hes raging because you were sad about the rat dying.
person needs to calm down though.
Fuck Mortus, the rat survived.
3:30 I know it's probably for the sake of the video, but I do hope you know you're supposed to use the dynamite on that door. ...Which I guess you already showed on another door later in the vid, so yay. ;P

I'll probably evolve it to Raichu, which is more like a rat.
I always found the game over screen creepy, but it pales slightly in comparison with the Game Over and Endings in The Ooze, which I think you should do.
Pikachu used Thunderbolt! It's super effective!
Yeah. The large hand is the guy who stuck you in the comic.
I always thought he was a bunny, but... whatever.
All characters are talking to their God and don't know it,
I gotta play this game ASAP
It's a revenge of Anti Tails Abuse.
Fi was better than navi IMO,
at least she was useful
I know this video is 8 years old but did you know if you spam down you can make sketch fart
Damnit I knew I lost this game.
i played this game and honestly couldnt get past the first level
Sega sure had plenty of creepy and disturbing gane
