Speaking of Team Sky, when's he gonna have Team Sky take over Galar Region? The triple Dex thing means it's stacked with a lot of good Flying types he can dominate with. There is literally no reason why he wouldn't do it.

Johto has Falkner and either Ho-oh or Lugia
Unova has the Genies and Skyla
Kalos has YAHVALTAL and Sky battles
Alola had a flying starter and Celesteela and Kahili
Sinnoh has the same issue and, while this doesn’t disqualify Galar or Sinnoh, it *may* play a factor
@@Jorpda Uh, yeah, Galar has Corviknight, Team Yell (a villainous team Michael could see as 'up for anything'), and Macro Cosmos Air (they have Cosmos in their name and their delivery group are already people OF THE SKY)
We never noticed that bug catchers disappeared after gen 4, but it does make sense. The first four regions took place in Japan where bug catching is a popular hobby while the later regions are based on places where bug catching is much less common.
You can argue that they were just merged with the Youngster in Gen 5, since a lot of Unova's Youngsters are unusually fond of Bug types.
funny that in the first 4 regions most bugs sucked except some like heracross and scizor but since gen5 they started getting high BST
I have to say I honestly never noticed if they still had bug catchers after gen 4 or not. But I also never really cared about them all that much.

It was so refreshing to see in Alola how the Team Boss was a bug specialist. It really shows his motivation as an underdog.

@@dubbingsync well I mean bug type is widely considered the weakest type. Also his older sister is implied to be Kahili, the flying type specialist and his rival was kukui who always has a rockruff/lycantoc. So he grew up an underdog.
Kahili's father is rich and isn't an abusive twat, Guzma's is a deadbeat who hits him. They're clearly not siblings when you take the time to look into this. Where the hell did that dumb headcanon come from?

I love how, in the canon of Mikey's character, he doesn't know anything about Unova but EVERYTHING about Unova's bugs.
This character's just so obsessively into Bug types that he doesn't care about anything else. He lives and breathes bugs.

These “trainer type” runs are by far my fav, such as the team sky trainer vids or the dark type gym leader vid. And I can’t deny, part of why I love them so much is because of how well they’ve been edited. All killer, no filler!
I actually started doing my own Monotype runs after watching Mikey, I am currently doing a Ground run of Galar and I cannot get past Milo, But I will prevail

Yeah. My friend’s favorite Pokémon is a scolipede and hers is completely stacked and can kill ANYTHING. X scissor, Poison jab, Rock slide, Earthquake, focus sash and just train it up to make the speed better than it already is and you have a monster that can murder legends. Even without competitive training just scolipede with earthquake can body any play through if used correctly

Bug Catchers got really buffed up Pokémon starting in Unova, it’s crazy how much the Bug type changed between Sinnoh and Unova

The only unova bug type i have ever used was joltik/galvantula. When i use bug types i use the bug types of the gen. I never played any of the gen 5 games, so i never use any of them
I would say that they started becoming competitively viable starting gen 4, since that introduced the proper physical/special split, X-Scissor, and Bug Buzz, allowing bug types with actually good (special) attack stats to have stab moves, and not just Heracross with semi-accurate Megahorn. But gen 5, oof, they got an even larger boost from gen 4, on top of the great bug Pokémon introduced in this generation.

Should definitely do this challenge in Alola as well! Golisopod, Vikavolt, Ribombee, Araquanid (if you get the Totem maybe better than Golisopod) not to mention Buzzswole and Pheromosa. As well as many older gen bug types. I'd love to see this bug trainer go all the way!

@@guyhyuma1738 It might not be an ultra beast, but Volcarona isn't that far off from one. And unlike the UBs this game gives you a Volcarona really early for a pokemon like that.

I really do think it was weird to take Bug Catchers out of the G5 games...
The best LOOKING and STRONGEST Bug-Types in the franchise were introduced in G5 and G7.
Scolipede, Leavanny, Crustle, Larvesta, and Genesect, Escavalier, Accelgor, Galvantula, Durant
Araquanid, Golisopod, Vikavolt, Ribombee, Buzzwole, Pheromosa
Bug Catchers were merged with Youngsters in these games. If you look around, you'll find Youngsters who clearly love Bug types more than a Youngster usually would.
Don’t forget Volcarona in G5. A truly magnificent Bug, which I wish was either a Legendary, or at least a Pseudo.

The reason they took Bug Catchers out of the game is actually more cultural. Kanto, Johto, Hoenn, and Sinnoh are based on parts of Japan, where bug catching is a popular hobby among children. Elsewhere, bug catching is a lot more niche and children don't do it as much. Speaking as someone from the USA, while _I_ have fond memories of catching butterflies at the park, the only time most of my friends caught bugs as kids were when we were all assigned to make insect collections in third grade. Kids that do catch bugs of their own volition (i.e. not as a school assignment) usually do so on a whim and don't, like, make it a huge part of who they are. So, yeah, in regions not based on Japan, Bug Catchers weren't really included or were merged with the Youngsters.

They’re essentially a pyramid scheme assigning a large amount of worth to digital collectibles (typically images), which people buy to sell in hopes of making even more money; akin to a stock market. So not only does it kind of wack out the economy, but the places that run all the NFT servers (for holding cryptocurrency I believe; which people then turn into real money) also apparently are doing some bad harm on the environment.
At the end of the day it’s really an opinion? But most can agree that NFTs do more harm than good
@@skyzeeee but nfts are a technology, like the internet. there are millions of websites with phishing, scams, virus, illegal stuff etc, but you don't bash the internet. why don't you present actual solutions for nfts uses? because there are hundreds already on the making, like L2 solutions that actually don't hurt the environment (at least no more than traditional systems) and even the argument for blockchains like bitcoin hurting the environment are very broken and flawed.

I've started doing all bug for all my runs and it really changes things up. In Shield I easily got a well balanced team that could handle everything, but in Shining Pearl I had to sit around a few days because almost all of the bugs were only catchable from honey trees. A steel type Wormadan was MVP, sweeping multiple gyms and elite four once I got it evolved and with Quiver Dance.
I did a bug run of galar too
The only times I have ever gotten a female combee in the last few games I played were runs where I was either going gen 8 only mons or doing nuzlocke encounter rules
Also, an NFT is nothing but a scam no matter who makes it

I think my love and appreciation for bug types became more apparent after Alola. In my opinion they definitely had the best bug types ever! Ribombee is my absolute favorite!

I did this in Crystal and absolutely loved it. I managed to Guillotine Red’s Snorlax and my starter Beedrill outsped and dealt heavy damage to his Charizard before going down.

Mickey, I know it's a sponsor and all and the game looks also really good too, but criptocurrency is bad for the planet: every "unit" of criptocurrency is coded in a way so that it cannot be stolen.
So, to actually sell or buy any nft product, a server makes a lot of tiny "rubic's cube" for every single coin. Like, it has to convert the code to it's value.
It makes a lot of tiny operations, and when something is expensive (or there's a lot of demand) we need to use more and more electricity to support the servers, which means more wasted energy and damage to the environment. Just to let you guys know, nfts are dumb in so many ways, please, let this not be a common thing, it would ruin a world that has already enough scars.

Not to mention, the cryptocurrency 'mining' setups require a lot of hardware, including GPUs... And there are people who are buying out the 3080s just to mine more of this environmentally-damaging, artificially inflated fake currency... Making it near impossible for people who ACTUALLY need the cards for their computers, or making the prices skyrocket.
I was about to come down here to comment about this too. NFTs are bad for the environment, bad for artists who get their art stolen to be made into NFTs, and it acts pretty much like a pyramid scheme, theres so many reasons to not support them. I hope he doesn't work with this sponsor again.

Sword/Shield as the Electric Gym Leader
Any game after Gen 5 as the leader of Team Pixie Dust (Fairy types)
Sun/Moon as the Ice Trial Captain/Kahuna (Pretty tough since your first Pokémon would be Crabrawler)
Or Sword/Shield as the Flying Gym Leader
@@ilikebikeriding I figured Electric because he said he'd be an Electric Gym Leader in Galar in the same video he made his Grass Gym. And he's already done Flying-type twice
I was personally wanting to do a Fairy Type run based around Kingdom Hearts, but I'm waiting for Inclement Emerald to get the Gen 8 Pokemon update since I don't wanna go through it without using my favorite fairy. It might be possible to do in Sword/Shield but I don't have a way to get Alolan Ninetails or Primarina in the games for the team to work.
Steel Type Playthrough pf BDSP?
@@speculyn5060 his type based playthroughs usually have a gimmick to them e.g. Grass and Dark Gym Leaders in regions that don't have them, Team Sky in Hoenn against Aqua and Magma, Bug Catcher in the first region without Bug Catchers. There's nothing about Sinnoh that would tie to Steel in the same way
This video was beyond perfect. I am definitely going to try a specific type play through like this. Micheal, Bug Catcher Champion, your acting was humorous and true to what a real life Bug Catcher trainer would act like 😂. I enjoyed every second.
This made me so happy. Galvantula is legitamately my favourite pokemon, and the fact that it won you the entire game was so special to me.

I almost never go a game without an electric type, and for White I chose it. However, in Black 2 I used Electross
Current competitive Galvantula set works like this:
Galvantula
Ability: Compound eyes
Item: Focus Sash
Idk the EVs, but one is Max Special Attack
Attacks:
Sticky Web
Thunder Wave
Thunder
Bug Buzz
And it's so GOOD.
It can take down about half of an unprepared team, set up a Sticky Web to slow down all the enemies, Bug Buzz past a Substitute, and Thunder or Thunder Wave annoying targets.

The Beyond Plus Ultra was excellently timed, I was waiting for that joke to come up ever since you named your Escavalier "Beyond". Especially in the context of a "Go! Beyond!" which is the dialogue when you send out Beyond.
Oddly enough, the only Bug types that are capable of learning Fly are Volcarona and Vikavolt.
I Think Beedrill can learn it too🤔
Which sucks since both are special attackers. (Also, to the other person who replied, Beedrill cannot learn fly)
If any Bug/Flying type should learn that, it's Yanmega. A Pokédex entry outright says they can carry a human in flight.
And there are so many bug/flying types too... Yanmega's dex entry says it can carry and fly with a person in its back but it can't learn fly.

Oh yay! :D seeing someone fight with an exclusively bug type team is so cool! One of my favorite types is bug, and Unona's bug types are some of my favorite.
That's why I loved using Levanny in B2W2! More often than not, if Sewaddle has Max friendship at Lv20, so you only need 1 more level to get Levanny!

Do you think Bug Catcher Mikey might have a good time in Alola (Ultra, preferably)? After all, more powerful Bugs get introduced in that generation, and I think seeing a Battle of the Bugs between him and Guzma would be awesome.
I haven't seen that much Unova content and don't know these 'mons, but when I saw Sewaddle evolve into something based on a mantis I was hooked. Go Fashion!
