I kinda like the 5 lobe-good balance between drilling and cutting. When I make more, I think I’ll try a hardwood. The Baltic birch sometimes had some chip out on the back side.
@@brianweekley5700 I came across about 100 maple library shelves for next to nothing. That's my source for good knobs. I leave the dark finish on the top and bottom, sand the lobes and round them over like you with my router. Hardwood is better I think.
Nice looking knobs & a very unique method of creating them Very symmetrical! I love your panning shots with the back lighting to show the patterns in your stock, Looks like you may have photography skills as another skill too, As a photographer I can see it . I would love a copy of your Sketchup file too if I could, I just subscribed I like your channel, Thanks Dan
Thanks. Many, many years ago before digital cameras, I worked in a professional photo lab developing color prints and also paid for my college as a wedding photographer. Sorry, I must have deleted that Sketchup file, but it's easy to draw with the protractor tool.
Hi Rush, that was a jig I used in my Wooden Bevel Gear video (6:35)-just provided as an example here. However, the immediate use for these knobs will be made apparent in my next video!
A great video. I just found this. It looks to me like the best and by far the easiest and quickest way to make multiple shapes of knobs. Thank you for sharing! I will be contacting you to see if you can provide me with a file of the template. Thanks again for the wonderful video. I am subscribing to your channel.
I finally found an easy way to make the knobs. If you would be so kind I will send you an email to provide me with the sketchup template. Greetings and thanks.
The best way to produce knobs. Congratulations from Brazil..!!!!

Brian, you always do such great work ! Thanks!
Thanks, much appreciated!
Awesome! great videos!
Thank you.
Thanks for sharing you process of doing it. By any chance could you share a PDF of this template that you made? I really appreciate :)
Very nice process. I am wondering if it easy to cut with a jigsaw coz I don't have a scroll saw
Give it a a try. Might be hard to hold/cut small pieces with an electric jig saw. A manual coping saw might work better?
Nice star knobs Brian! Thank you for sharing the video with us.👌😎👍JP
Great process to produce quality knobs!! I really like the 6 lobe knobs. Thanks for the video!

Hey, wow wow wow very nice .do you share the template?
Thank you. Yes, if you provide an email.
Would like to have the template. Like the idea of making your own knobs, have made different types of handles before.

Hey Brian, that is a well thought-out project. Which style do you like the best? 4 lobe knobs fit my hand best. Tim

Very nice video, Brian. Thank you! What's the jig visible at 0:15?
