    Hi, Your video was very helpful . I have some questions, Have you tried ordering extra parts for the pro k2? I'm wondering if I should get a back up Excursion pump since its got that one of a kind tip specifically made for the excursion. We have the single, K1 and wondered how to use the fishing mount? are there pole holders to attach to it that I am missing? How do you blow up the seats when the air pump doesn't work for the seats? Why would I need the wrench? Thanks in advance !

  • @brianvandy4002
    @brianvandy4002 3 года назад +4

    Those are not fishing rod holders. They are fishing rod holder holders. You're meant to buy a fishing rod holder and put it into that hole.

    • @ColoradoRMN

    Thanks for the video and some insights I didn't find in the manual, e.g. deflating functionality of the pump. I struggle with the pressure gauge as it indicates allways green, also when there's no air in the chambers.
    And I'm wondering for what I could need the wrench - the manual doesn't give any hint except a picture where it seems to turn the air valves. Can you help?

    • @ColoradoRMN
      @ColoradoRMN  3 года назад +1

      Glad you found this helpful. It should not indicate always green - something seems off. It should move as you pump air into the Kayak. The wrench is in case you need to work / remove the air valves. I did not use mine but keep it safe just in case you ever need to remove / replace those valves.

    Can you stand and paddle from it for sight fishing? Knowing that the floor is not double stitched. Now, it could be possible to add a hard floor to it. Thanks.

    • @ColoradoRMN
      @ColoradoRMN  3 года назад +1

      No, since it is inflatable it is still not ridged for it to be standing on. Not sure about adding a hard floor - it may still not hold well from weight distribution perspective (plus add a lot of weight). Not something that I would do. But if you do it - share your result.

    How much pressure does it call for- does it show psi or just red yellow green?
    Would you expect the pro to be sturdier? Ripped my k2 non pro version.

    • @ColoradoRMN
      @ColoradoRMN  4 года назад +5

      Hi Patrick. It gauge show it in colors, PSI and MPa. Green is up to .01 MPa, which is 1.45 psi. I inflate up to the top of the green mark most of the time or slightly below it if I inflate in the shade as hot air expands. It is more ridged then the challenger k2 (and heavier). However, caution is still needed as an object that is sharp enough can still cut / penetrate it. It is a heavy duty material and the force to cut it would be higher but of course still possible.

      I think they are fine - maybe a nit slightly on a shorter side but overall ok for an average height. For someone 5'5" - 5'11" paddle size of 220 - 240 cm is recommended. These ones are ~86" = 218.44 cm, so slightly on a short side

    Great video, thanks! I'm actually interested in purchasing the K1 Challenger that you also reviewed but love the pump and pressure gage the Excursion comes with. Do you know if both of these items are compatible with the K1 Challenger? Thanks!

    • @ColoradoRMN
      @ColoradoRMN  4 года назад

      No, different pumps. K1 Challenger can use the regular 'industry standard' Boston size valves so there are many types of pumps that it can use. For Challanger K1, I use the battery operated one: amzn.to/3g24h1D . It has a convert piece that comes with it that fits Boston valves. I use to fill the mattresses and the Challenger K1 super quickly. Excursion K2 has its proprietary pump and valves and I still cannot find any other valve or pump that will work with it other than what can in the box.

    got a tiny puncture under my excursion pro kayak. Almost like a needle puncture. It was only my second time using it. Hello thank you for the video! I just received mine today and took it out in the water. It performed well, a bit on the slower side, and I also noticed that after 2 hours the kayak had lost some pressure. Very slightly (nothing too serious) but upon returning I checked the pressure with the gauge and it was in the middle green area, and I had inflated it to the high end of the green mark. Any thoughts on this? Have you experienced any issues with it thus far? Thanks again!

    • @ColoradoRMN
      @ColoradoRMN  4 года назад +1

      I am wondering if when the unit is new, it may be stretching a bit. I did not notice it here yet. If the material stretched a bit, that may cause some pressure change. Keep an eye on it if it does happen after several uses - if so check with Intex.

It was fine the first few times I took it out, but there was a leak in one of the seams after just a month or two, and customer service wasn't helpful. Mine absolutely sucks, and so does Intex. All of my seats were defective, they only replaced one, which ended up defective as well. The other one of these I bought has had multiple punctures. They are very cheaply made, and are definitely not durable despite the way Intex markets them. Intex left me hanging and did not honor their warranty policy. They really suck big time. Avoid Intex, and this product in particular.
