Beautiful video Sam, and thanks for the feature, I'm so pleased you're enjoying your sandals! It is so good to have you highlighting alternatives to high-street brands for when someone is looking to add to their wardrobe. I'm not in this business to add to piles of unworn shoes and make big profits, instead to be a maker who cares about what I do and who I serve. Here's to slow, responsible fashion, and making the most of what we have!
This video came at the perfect time! I've had to start the slow & painful journey of finding new shoes to last me as long as possible, and your points about these two brands have actually been a huge help when thinking about what to look out for. Thanks!
I was going to get the brown Gorals, but my wife convinced me to get white ones, which would normally be totally out of my comfort zone, but they are actually great. They fit like a glove, and as I have a wide foot, they also make a wide fitting. They break in nicely, too.
I stumbled across this video after watching the Rose Anvil Goral white sneaker cut-in-half video - - I've had many other brands of leather sneakers, and just purchased the Goral - The Boulsover - Bonaventura Odyssey Brown Sneakers as this video and Rose Anvil's video confirmed quality of these leather shoes/sneakers.
Good vid, Sam. There are not enough videos on great footwear like these. I had considered Gorals for the reasons you mentioned, but I went with Crown Northampton instead. Big reason being that Goral does not make them smaller than UK6. I'm a UK4.5 to 5 wide.
Thank you!! I love the Crown Northampton shoes too! You’re not the first person to mention sizes smaller than a 6 with Goral, I’ll mention it to the team there and see what they say!
A late question, I know, but hopefully you'll see this! I'm considering getting the same Gorals as you (so yes, the colour you chose is ace), but wanted to get your thoughts on comfort, especially when walking around all day. I usually wear leather shoes (rather than sneakers) and boots, and while these are great for everyday use, they suck for walking around all day as I discovered recently.
I’ve been wearing these multiple times a week for 18 months now and they’re really comfortable! If anything they’re more comfortable now they’re properly worn in. They’re obviously not as comfy as a squishy synthetic alternative but if you’re coming from boots and dress shoes I think you’re in for a treat.
Nice work! I've obviously got me a pair of Noble and Wylie shoes and they're on year four now I think. Tough stuff. Veg tan Olsen Boot. Very proud of them. Thanks for the tip about Sheffield trainers. How have I never heard of them before?!!
It’s sad that some shoes would never even see their fourth year before being unceremoniously replaced! I felt the same way when I stumbled across Goral, I guess ‘trainers’ and quality local craftsmanship aren’t two circles that cross very frequently 😅
I really enjoy watching your videos. But I don't find videos about products and buying tips helpful. I would find it more interesting how you combine the same part differently over the year. Or what you are busy with when you are not consuming :)
Thanks for your feedback! A big part of my channel is to promote small makers and provide people with alternatives to fast fashion. Did you watch through to the part where I talk about styling the shoes for flexibility? Would you like to see more videos focussed on that sort of content? Or more vlogs about home life and camp life? Thanks again for your feedback, and for watching! It’s still a very young channel so it’s great to hear what people want to see :)
@@sambinstead6611 I didn't mean to say that I think the video is bad. I think you attach great importance to sustainability and yet such a video encourages you to buy new shoes, even though you still have some in your closet. My favorites are good tips for putting on, repairing and caring for clothes. I also think vlogs are great.
Holy stank nuggets! I just saw the vid colab with @roseanvil on their channel and am SO obsessed! Def sfl! Iec if I don't win the giveaway or yeah. What you're doing for the environment and upcycling is frickin brilliant!

Thank you Kenneth! I’ll raise a glass to that! here’s to loving things for the longest time and supporting traditional crafts 🙏🏻

Fantastic!! So good to hear. Hope you find some shoes you can love for a long time!

Great video Sam, glad you're enjoying your Mellors, the sandals look great too.
Thank you! Absolutely loving them, opened up a lot more casual styling options for me!
All thanks to Rose Anvil (Weston Kay), for introducing me to your channel.

@@sambinstead6611 Thanks Sam, I appreciate the response and that's great to hear! I think you've sold me on them.
Hey there. Have you resoled the Goral? How long did the soles last?

Glad you found it!! Thanks for watching :)
Whaddya think to the shoes?! I’m already finding they work with pretty much every spring/summer outfit I have on rotation!
Looking very trim, Sam!! I love the shoes, love Maggie more 😍
What if.. we got Maggie little leather sandals??!
I got the gorals in navy. They fit very small for me
What do you think about the inside of the shoe? Someone said they use fake leather.
