  • What can I say other than that we are excited about this trip. We couldn't have picked a better week to run on the Vmut Trail. Seeing the leaves change into beautiful colours and just being out in the outdoors was just amazing.

hey man thanks for taking us on these trails, i've watched a few of your videos and i live in Ontario too, you guys really encourage me to try some of these, quick question do you think this one would be a good one for beginner's first time trail? also going alone for the first time probably isn't a good idea ? lol I'm so new to this i got a 14 2.5 inch lifted patriot/ no bumpers/ trail lights, and seeing your Youkon made it through those trails i have bit more confidence now.

Hey Conor, VMUTS has trails for everyone. Just remember that Permits must be purchased online and when you do so you will gain access to their map and the colour coded trail systems. If you're doing any of the green trails you should be ok on your own, but generally, it is always best to wheel with someone else. Think about upgrading your tires for better traction and also think about a recovery system. e.g. Traction boards. Thanks for your question. Just remember to stay safe.

Nice video, I’ve been going through your videos and wanted your opinion on upgrades. I have a stock 2015 suburban 2wd with a g80 rear auto locker that I wanted to convert into an overland rig and was trying to weigh out whether it would be worth it in terms of 2wd capability. Some items on my consideration list where 33 inch tires, maybe a 3.5-4 inch lift, but I wanted to know from you what do you find as essential upgrades for the vehicle. also there isn’t much aftermarket support. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Just wanted to know what works for you and what doesn’t. Thanks in advance.

Hey, Save The Squares, That's awesome that you want o get into the overland world. I feel your pain with the fact that there is barely any aftermarket support for our vehicle. As for 2wd, I think it would be possible to still do Overland adventures. 2wd may limit you on where to go and use less technical terrain. The auto lockers will be your biggest friend. Now you may not be able to go on most trails be with the right gear and strategic planning you would be able to go on epic adventures. For your set up think about a good heavy-duty winch and really good recovery gear. Tow straps, Snatch Blocks, Shackles, and traction boards. Something like what we have for the Yukon. I'm in the planning stage for a 4" lift myself so that we can fin 35" tires. Not sure yet which lift kit that I'm going with. But I'm going to have to find a kit before Black Friday. lol. Going to try to get it on sale! Do you have Instagram? Would like to see your progression with your build.
Stay safe and all the best.

@@416Expedition thanks for the reply, I greatly appreciate it. my Instagram is xcarv001
I’m going to talk to my local lift installer and see what they recommend. There will probably be good deals for recovery gear in Black Friday. I was also thinking that I could finish my m38 Willys and perhaps throw a rooftop tent on it. That vehicle for sure would go anywhere and I can flat tow it behind the suburban. I’ll post some pictures as the project progresses
