'Timing beats power', buakaw is a perfect example for this. Askerov may be the more powerful, tougher opponnent, but buakaw is just playing this down smartly.

Have been a fan of "The Lumpinee Assassin" since the days he was barely even heard of in the West yet, but this Russian warrior, Jabar Askerov won my full respect upon first seeing this fight take place, so many years back now.
Anyone who knows what it feels like to take those shots, whether on the legs, the body, and/or on the arms/forearms, regardless, knows exactly what I refer to....
And there's nothing like experiencing the full force thereof from the Thai nationals, the original experts in the trade.
    Nak Muay indeed.
Huge Respect to Kru Pedro Solano, a farang who has immersed himself in Thai culture, and is one of the true exponents of Muay Chaiya, heart and soul. ( Refer "Muay Sangha" online and on RUclips)
And Max Respect to the Lumpinee Assassin, who is the absolute essence of the martial arts of Siam, to the core.(!)..Imagine encountering that phenomenon on some ancient battlefield, with the sword and shield of Muay Boran in his hands....(!!)
Warrior tribes, warrior culture, warrior people.
Good to see the recognition beginning to truly take place on an international level, as the arts of Thailand and Myanmar prove their effectiveness in every arena of modern combat sports today.

After spending my whole life watching boxing after watching a ton of Muay Thai videos I can't help but to feel like boxing is a little tame compared to Muay Thai. I am not saying top rank boxers couldn't complete with these guys but I think all sports should evolve over time and Muay Thai is what boxing should have evolved to. I like the fact that these guys are using kicks, knees which adds a new dimension. I can't ever look at boxing the same way. I am no fighter but I think Buakaw is tough as nails. Amazing thing watching this particular fight is that Buakaw seems to be smiling having a good old time the other guy is serious as a heart attack.

Anyway he (jabar) is the only fighter i ve ever seen who drove boukaw back in the ring through out the fight. And he is the first one fighting whom the fear may b seen clearly on boukaw face. vry Good for jabar.

Winning Baukaw: strong elbow, strong knee, keep pushing and walking right into him, cool tempered ...then he will keep bleeding.
