I have a 2014 D40 dual cab, 2” suspension lift 32” tyres, a snorkel, lots of extras in the engine bay, it came with a canopy & heavy duty roof rack which saved me around $3800, UHF 80 channel radio and idrive which reduces accelerator lag enormously. Portable dual battery 12v set up with inverter to add solar at a later stage.

I won't lie to you, the bakkie ( pick up- I don't know where you're from) drives like an absolute dream dirt roads and tarmac alike! Should something break or be in need of replacement, the Nissan dealers will charge you a LOT! I bought a power steering pump from the dealer and it cost me R7000 for the pump alone. I installed it myself so I saved that money. Next my alternator started making an annoying whining noise, so I bought one from Nissan for R9800 and also installed it myself. After a few times of doing burnouts and some very heavy 4x4 drives with a loaded caravan, I had the clutch replaced for safety. And not a moment too soon since the clutch was almost done. Dealers asked me R35000 to do the job. I had it done at Ferrodo in George for R14700. But it's all worth it. Like I said, I drive terrible dirt roads every day to do my work and quite some highway driving as well, and no other bakkie does it like a Nissan Navara. Pulls like a train and drives like a luxury car. You can get cheaper aftermarket parts, but I like piece of mind thus buying from the dealer... all personal choice. Whatever you decide, whether you still want to buy a Navara or not, just promise me that you won't buy a Ford Ranger no matter what! If you think regularly servicing your Navara and the occasional expensive parts are menacing, the Ford will always break down spectacularly with sudden total gearbox failure, turbo seizure or head gasket blowing... the list goes on. I'd recommend the Navara, but as long as you stay away from a Ford, the choice is yours 👍

I used to have one of these as a work vehicle. It always amazed me how well it accelerated, the spec I had was the 126kw/403nm but it always felt stronger than that. It went into limp mode a lot though lol

Better than all series stock diesel Nissan Patrols, but only Diesel Patrols. Petrol Patrol 😄 yea Gasoline Patrols with the similar year of production are considerably better or with the modifications another dimension. 👊
Great Pickup, I have one for 5 years now and still love it. But be careful with the clutch, especially with the Euro4 engine with 171 bhp. Best D40 is with the 190bhp engine.
@@nbain66 In Germany just with the YD25 diesel engine or the V6 diesel. I'm not sure about the rest of Europe. But they put better big end bearings in, so it is less likely to explode like in the D22 😂.
Its a 140kw or 188hp with 450nm engine, a 168 could'nt acelerate like that, unless it were a 2009 or lower model with 127kw acoording the Euro3, which had more torque at lower rpm, 2010 models acomplished the euro4 (and 5 in spain, having less power) decreasing the torque at low rpm to pollute less but increasing bhp almost 20hp more at middle high rpm
his d40 got 120k mileage and still can reach 190 almost 200 kph ours got a 100k mileage and yet I reach 6th gear and it only gave me 100kph aside from cleaning the egr and do some dyno tuning what else should i do to enhance its power back like the new one
I have o7 D40, today I put new 4mm vacuum lines,replace all,it's turbocharger working again ,,but change your LGE intercooler piping to hard aluminium type, clean out your EGR Valve ,air cleaner and throttle body ,I have just done this is fairly easy and cost very little ,it is running well all power returned ,no black smoke like new ,just check U tube how to videos and have a go
It's Nissan's declared top speed, of course is not real. In the video i think he is going at 185km/h ( 3/4 km/h difference by "PIZDIT" speedometer haha )
I have a 2014 D40 and mine doesn't seem this smooth, mine is Diesel though. But I love driving mine, alot different though to a lowered Subaru WRX like I'm used to driving lol

@@v.n.7495 clean the maf,, air filter and run some fuel additives ... ummmm sometimes mechanics put thinner oil in them makes em rattle a little more....if its a deisel u got to drive it harder than petrol cars but not stupid hard...u want it to feel like it's pulling you along ...

Would be a good idea for that driver, if he’s a test driver as his form of employment, to learn where to correctly place his thumbs on the steering wheel. Never have them looped inside that steering wheel as he has them in this video, lest he likes having broken thumbs and thus his forearms in plaster for 6weeks, followed by months of physiotherapy. Always have your thumbs on the outside of the steering wheel!

I used to own 2008 (2.5d) two door model for 11 years, after 128000km nothing major. Car was used for hunting and fishing, overally wery good car.
It's a great car long term.

190km/h is top speed on speedometer but my navigation keep showing me 170kmh as top speed. Also traveled distance is 10%longer than real distance

Navara's are ony diesel, 2.5 DCi and 3.0 DCi V6, the gasoline ones are the American version called Frontier.
