That's a big fuck no buddy. You are listening with your eyes. His band is sharper than he is. He would be scolded by a proper big for turning his shit up too loud.
Google thinks you wrote "The brass arrangements are the most complex I have ever heard". The Wongnotes' horn charts are mostly by Michael B. Nelson of the Hornheads. They're great, surpassing even Prince's simple funk horns, but you must have never heard a big band arrangement by Duke Ellington or other jazz bandleaders.

unfortunately the sound during the tower of power concert was horrible. midrange and treble spit too much in the back of the room. first time I put earplugs in Marciac :/ first time that they only put one speaker rack on the front and not a second one in the middle of the room.
@@rammzuif Too big venue, and really not optimise for sound ... I had chance to be in front part and sound was OK. I wear earplug (good quality ones, with "flat" filtering) for all show, but it can correct bad sound choice unfortunately.
Cory your band is off the charts with talent, definitely says something about your character that these cats are down with you. Thank you for the incredible music. ❤
It looks like he's got a maple snare about 7 to 10 plys and to get that clean pop, try using a reverse dot coated head. He also has rings on it to dry it up and eliminate any overtones...not sure which rings hes using, they look pretty thick... One other thing he does is he is extreamly consistant with his strikes. All are in the same exact spot and with the same force. Makes eq and effects very easy to dial in. He's very underrated drummer.

Just can’t believe that guys have become soooo good today ! And we worry about AI lol this is human music at a insane level thank you it gives everyone energy
Seeing the rehearsal this morning and then watching the concert now is so wonderful. Cory thank you so much for being so generous in releasing capital C Content
What a wonderful way to spend an afternoon...listening to you guys! Just the best music. Love Cory, of course, but Petar, Kevin and Kenni always bring it big time. Some new faces I don't recognize but they all sound absolutely fab. Whatever you guys are getting paid... it ain't enough!
UK saxophonist Alex Bone's solo album is pretty solid, with a track featuring Cory Wong and an absolute killer instrumental "In Dream" featuring Cory's godfather, the legendary Nile Rodgers 🎸. Still love Eddie Barbash's tone 🎷
I don’t think I’ve ever actually been jealous over a comment lmao. When they went back to Dean Town again I would’ve exploded, so happy for you brother!!
Met Jay and Negah after the MSP show with O.A.R. Both were as kind as they are exceptionally talented. No pretense, just great people with unbelievable talent. Thanks Cory for posting such great content with such great people.
Thank you Cory, we saw you live at Brno a week ago. You guys were all so exceptionally immersive. The tone of the band was amazing from the very first get-go. The fact that all of you play with such high emotions and still remain tight and professional is insane. I never knew how great funk sounds live, but now I do and you've set the bar very high for any other funk-band I'll ever see perform:)

This is the best concert that I have heard in my life.
Congrats Cory and team! I assisted to the gig in Sète driving from Barcelona a few weeks ago...Spectacular! It was worth it! James Brown and many others might be happy in funk's heaven. It's the biggest compliment I think of whenever I listen to this band.
Petar has really great hands! he has very fast singles and a great finger wrist technique. I would love to hear him play in other styles, going to look him up and see what else I can find.
im so happy Foreign Motion finally got a horn section. also mad love for Kev G this is the most "up front" ive heard the keys mixed in alive - it sounds killer

I’m a mediocre musician (at best). My wife is a professional musician and whenever I show her a Cory wong video she loves how tight the brass the woodwinds are. I must agree!!
Never heard of Cory Wong until today when I was buying a new P Bass and he walked into the Fender Store in Tokyo and started playing with the band. Wowza, cool groove, reminded me very much of a Weather Report tone and Yohannes on the bass rocked the place. Sorry Cory, I'm a bass player, so I'm gonna look at him first 🤣 Thanks for today though, a good memory.

Cory Wong is the best rhythm-oriented guitarist of our time. He’s already making a huge splash. Loved this show
Nile Rodgers is still alive! But, sure, Cory's up there.

Cory Wong has single-handedly made funk amazing again. I love his work with Vulfpeck, but this combo is always my go-to for enjoying Cory’s work
Strictly speaking, he is using both hands...
@@kjellgrndahl276 I agree, but I've rarely seen or heard picking hand technique which is as advanced as Cory's
