  • Experience Utah's Goblin Valley like never before! We show our stay in a cozy yurt and camp among the fantastic red rock formations for two nights. In addition, we finally check out the astonishing Goblin's Lair hike - adventure awaits!
    Located near central Utah, Goblin Valley State Park is unlike any you've likely seen. If the red mushroom-shaped hoodoos, known as goblins, creating an almost alien-like landscape don't make you feel like you're on another planet, the sheer remoteness of the park will.
    The nearest town to the park is Hanksville, Utah - almost a 30-minute drive to the south. Finding closer lodging is just not possible which makes camping ideal. Not only are you just outside the park, but you also have unique backdrops of some goblins and are located very close to other amazing outdoor opportunities like the slot canyons of Little Wild Horse Canyon and Bell Canyon.
    Goblin Valley State Park campground consists of ten walk-in tent sites, fourteen RV sites, one group site, and two yurts. All campsites have elevated tent pads, a fire ring with a grill, and a picnic table under a metal shelter to provide shade.
    RV sites do not have hookups, however, there is a dump station.
    The two yurts provide a unique experience for those looking to camp in more comfort. Both hold a maximum of 5 people, have electricity inside, and are equipped with heat and air conditioning. Tables with seating are included as is an outdoor grill. There are no hookups for RVs at these sites either.
    The campground has two restroom facilities - one with vault toilets and one with flushing toilets and hot showers.

    We are outdoor people. Just discovered your channel and loving it! We’ve been to many of the places you have visited over the years. Now our adult kids and their babies are beginning to these adventures! We stayed in yurts 🛖 over the years at Craig Lake State Park. Loved it!

    I bought this kit on Amazon that is a set of refillable bottles, each wirh a hole molded in the end. It came with a lanyard. You can just throw it around your neck, and everything is right at hand. I bought this kit for the gym.

    WOW! Another great video.
    Really appreciate all the work you put into your videos.
    The tour of the campground was nice especially since tent camping is for us - except for the dust, we might sleep in the van.
    Thanks again for the armchair travels as we plan our winter getaway. 🇨🇦

    Hi Glenn, another beautiful video. Thanks for the yurt tour. I need to take a look at the local factory here that manufacture the yurts. Very cool to see. The Goblins were beautiful beyond belief. You might like to take an inexpensive small stool that folds up for the shower room. I am being educated with your videos. Thanks again. I'll be back.Thank you Amy for all your hard work.

    Nice info. Been eyeballing those yurts for a few years. Yurt 1 or campsite 12. PS - You can rappel down from the top into Goblin's Lair. Haven't done it yet. One of these days.

      The yurts are terrific. I remember your yurt experience that was near Zion and we always thought it would be fun to splurge for an experience in one. Repelling isn't something either one of us has experience with but wouldn't mind trying one day. Thanks for the info!

    Is definitely a spectacular area. Unfortunately, camper etiquette seems hard to come...noise in these outdoor areas is annoying...when peace and quiet is what most is there for. Very neat yurt. There are many popping up all over the place it seems. Will need to check one out for Otis and I. Hope you have a great weekend. Bruce and Otis

    • @CactusAtlas
      @CactusAtlas  Год назад +1

      Thank you! The noise factor at Goblin Valley's campground is especially difficult because of the way sound bounces around. Talking is one thing to hear amplified, but some other things...? 😂
