-- I decided to address the age old question, "What is the difference between UI and UX!?" in my own words. I tried to keep it as short and concise as possible. While there's a lot more details about the similarities and differences, I tried to nail down just the key differences.
Going forward with this channel, I'm going to start covering all branches of UX design. Make sure to subscribe so you don't miss out!

I still love the UI vs. UX metaphors.. Give me your best below!
UI: Your FB profile.
UX: You in real life.
UI - External appearence of Human
UX - Internal organs of Human bofy
In simple terms,
UI is The look and feel
UX is the user friendliness
So how your website looks (UI), and how easy it is for users to achieve what they intend to (UX - the process like you said)
UI: That roller coaster looks amazing! Let's get in line!
UX: *getting off* Get me to the nearest bathroom asap
UI : Your Girl
UX : How you feel her.
Overview
1) Research: User persona, Journey map
2) Brainstorm: Wireframe, User flow
3) Implement: Prototype, Frontend & Backend development
4) Reporting: Usability reporting, Analytics reporting, Split testing
Looks like agile process to me.
What about testing and monitoring?
@@Blast-Forward Testing generally falls after you have a prototype. How I like to think of it is that design is iterative, thus you should always be testing and validating everything, regardless of which 'step' you're on :)
The tinder profile and date analogy is the best lol

And I refuse to like so I like my own reply 😂
Ik kinda crazy
Hahahah
yeah
😂
UI : Your video's Thumbnail.
UX : Your video's Content.
The most easy explanation
Q:what is the diff between UI & UX?
everybody: explaining in a very complicated way that is diff to understand
Gary: explains in such simple terms that you are confused if its actually so simple!
lol this though ... UI-Her Tinder Profile, UX- The Date
Dead 💀
It’s the perfect comparison.
I started my career as a UI designer but ended up as a project leader so often, I ended up having to grow into UX.
Now, the experience comes to play very often as a freelancer
I want to go on the same path as you. Can you give a few tips and info and recommendations? Thanks in advance!
How is it?
I'd like to go on this path this coming year, can you give a few pointers, and hopefully mentor 😊

I love job listings. "Looking for a full stack developer" = Don't know shit about what it takes to make an application and think that one person can do it all.
GANKER thats very common nowadays. it doesnt help that the stack is now a mountain of frameworks, cloud, and design
Better than that is "looking for wix developer". That's an oxymoron
@@binyamingreen7600 haha!
If you choose the right frameworks for frontend and backend, you can of course do both. Using the same programming language for frontend and backend would be a good starting point. But being an full stack developer doesn't mean that you are meant to do everything on your on, but it means that you know how backend and frontend works and how they are comming together. Of course you can develop and deploy a full stack application on your own. And yes, you will of course get better results in shorter time if you hire more people to do the job. If you can't develop a full stack app, than your strengths are maybe somewhere else, but that doesn't mean that no one can be a full stack developer. Highly depends on the project and the company of course.
I've worked around many very talented "full-stack devs", just because you can't imagine doing it, doesn't mean it doesn't exist. They do excellent front-end, back-end, API/Microservices and work both iOS and Android and Desktop. They are valuable to any team. I'd much rather work beside one of them than simply a software architect who is responsible for frameworks and API's. The most difficult are working with front-end devs who can barely code up what you spelled out in a detailed wireframe. Ugh...
UI - I am a UI developer.
UX - I am Not a UX developer.

Yay! I made it into the video!
Being a self taught "1 stop shop" I've always handled everything, back-end to front-end, so I guess I never really had to break down those individual aspects.
I also mostly work on business-to-business projects which don't tend to get too fancy in the visual aspects.
You made it fam. Welcome to the big leagues!
Wow man I was just waiting for someone to explain it with such detail. I always knew about it but just a missing piece in the puzzle was this video! You are Fantabulous! :D Keep it up.

This is a very simple and informative video defining the roles of a UI and UX designer. Knowing what your role is in the process of web design is important so each section of the project runs smoothly.
They have assigned a UI/UX design project to me while I have no clue how to even argue about it.
Thank you for your insights, will follow your guidelines.
One of the, if not the, best UI vs UX explanation vids I've come across in my search to understand this field better! I was hooked as soon as you started the explanation portion of the video and hit the like and sub buttons. Your voice is calm and great for teaching, and you added great graphics to tell the story.
Excellent job!👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
This is the perfect video that explains this accurately. ❤️. Very few people know how to communicate... And you are one of them. Thanks again. 🙏
Super helpfull! I am just getting into UI/UX and really appreciate this explanation! Also the way you showcased everyhing helped me alot since im a visual learner!
Can uh tell me how you are learning to be ux/UI designer ?
Now the fog is clear.
Thank you for explaining the difference. I've been working at a design agency and they just called it "making a screendesign" and I'd never heard of UI and UX design until recently.
When I really sat down to answer that question in my own words I couldn't, but after this video I believe I have a better understanding of UI vs UX. And now understand that in working for my company that I've only been doing UI design but I would love to start broadening out into the other areas of UX.
Michael Alls i’m essentially a “full-stack” dev for my company. I ask all the time to hire a UI specialist.

I'm a UX designer and I've never NOT had to design the UI. One of my job titles in the past was literally "UI/UX Designer". You can come across a visual designer or "Graphic Designer" who will focus on things like icons and color schemes, but in my experience, the UX designer is also a UI designer, since UI is a subset of UX, like you said.
Hello,
Did you go to school for it?
@@_NEW3RA_ yes I did.
interesting so you are designing how the app looks but not the actual graphics?
@@noplug7434 sometimes I do graphical work like icons but most of the time it's just how it looks, and more importantly how it interacts/behaves.
i was practicing for two months on UX and then someone told me you should practice on UI and i was speechless i thought it's a different and more difficult but i now ater watching your video(thank god you have this one UX vs UI ) I found out i was doing the UI work too,
THANK YOU SO MUCH.
Thank you tank you and thank you. Finally someone explaining it in a form I can understand. Not another video of an UI UX developer talking to other developers!!!!!!!!!!
I'd like to point out that Usability reports or Usability Testings, which is what we call them here, can and should be done with a lofi & hifi prototype BEFORE implementation/development with code.
Because that's literally the key advantage of the UX design process.
You can realize changes in the prototype easily, but changes in the developed product takes much more time and money to realize!
UI=Bachelor. You need to know the design basics. UX=Master. You will also need to know how to implement methodologies such as Practice-led research, practice-based research analytic research, academic research and research cycle to fix the problems in the UI design.
needed this 4 years ago, glad to have it anyway
Give me the date of your course launch.
Now i need to set reminder⏰
Very meaningful and useful information again.

I'm not sure when the course is going to be released exactly. Right before or right after 2020. ;)
I'll pirate it.
I've worked in the industry for 15 years great job! The only change I would make is UI design does the wireframe and flows of the actual screens not UX. UX does journey/goal flows. It's also true UI must usually be visually inclined, and with UX it isn't necessary.
Would you say the job is good for arty people?
@@saralouisev3436 It varies greatly especially for games. I got my degree in Fine Arts, Drawing and Painting.
A game like Hearthstone for example, you need to be arty. A game like The Division, graphic design only is necessary.
UI is best for people who love visual language, and enjoy knowing when/how to systemitize things optimally for the experience that's fits the app/game and also can adapt quickly to new wireframe, prototyping technologies. All very learn able.
Choosing the right tool for the job is important. Balsamiq for mock-ups vs Axure Rp for example are poles apart. It will take a solid month to learn Azure RP, and a day to learn Balsamiq. Something like Proto.IO is somewhere in between.
The dream UI person, and the one where you will have job security and people hounding you is one that I call the Voltron. Proficient in all 3: Art, Design, Implementation. Being good at all 3 means the vision is easier to carry through, you are worth 3 heads, and you are efficient in the entire pipeline from pre-production, production, and post production. Very few people occupy this, so shoot for that.
@@Lorenzconnok your comment was very insightful. I've always have loved design. I took a college class in web design to see if I can really be a good UI or UX designer before going deep into it. In my class we had to design an app as well besides the website and get some knowledge on HTML, CSS, and some reading about Java. I was able to design an entire app in Adobe XD in about 10 hours from just watching a couple of videos. I don't know if that's something normal but I was impressed that I was able to do that with not prior knowledge of anything related to design. I designed a website as well. And I was very proud of it as because I did it in about 15 hours or less. And it was done with HTML and CSS only. I'm not a fan of coding though. So that class definitely help me to confirm that this is the right field for me. So I think I can be a great UI or UX designer. I would definitely say that I am more in love with the idea of UI because I am very visual and detail oriented.
Very well explained Brother💪🏻Hunting through a lot of videos, at last, I found this practical example video to be the best understandable for beginners.

Dude. You have great engaging delivery, high quality audio and a high standard to your content. I'm teaching HCI this year (so of course started at UI and UX to contextualise it) and the HCI videos on youtube are absolute trash. They're either hour long videos of someone with a notepad or overly technical with bad voice over work
If you ever wanted to do a video on the history of HCI I'd be mighty thankful XD Just saying...
Thanks a lot for the great content, I just got one suggestion, you can improve your audio a lot with a pop filter, I've noticed the "P" and "B" popping a lot on most of your vids, anyway keep the success
You have a real talent for simplifying complex and often abstract methodologies.Well done.

I have been a UI artist for several years in the computer games industry. At my current company (40 staff) we have no UX desiginer, Just about everyone else who thinks they know best ... Which is wearing thin... So basically it's a luxury having a UX person to probably battle it out with your producer and Executives.
I’d love to see each process in detail at a time. Why do people still pay so much for research when all websites look so similar. People follow a trend now and moving buttons around like login or search never works.
@DesignCourse: Thank you for making and sharing this video.
I have a few questions.
1) Is a UI and UX designer like a Front End Web developer and Back End developer, in a sense?
2) Is it mandatory to learn graphic design in order to become a UI design? What courses are necessary?
3) Does a UI designer, web designer or front end developer get paid the most?
Thanks, Man!

UI doesnt’t exists without UX and sometime it really depends on the project phrase and scope. Most companies would only hire UXUI hybrid. There is a role dedicated to UX and that is User Experience Researcher
Being a designer (UX/UI/IA) since the dotcoms I was looking for someone who would answer this for my UX students. Unfortunately, this video you produced doesn't pass the bar. I myself took UI designer roles - perhaps over a dozen with Fortune 100 companies. What it amounts to is the process and tasks define the UI design(er) role. You cannot mix UI design with UI designer, as every designer is by de-facto definition a UI designer if you put the same argument up as you did. Your state that UI designers are responsible for prototyping, but on most teams (dozens), those Visual Designer/Graphic Designers can't prototype their way out of a paper bag. But simply put - a UI designer "role" is one where the stakeholder defines the project and you refine the design of it, without user-feedback, user-research or user-testing. Period. All these convoluted and obfuscated definitions I keep seeing make my head spin. There is little if any user-experience process or UX due diligence in the role of a ui designer. You are more like a short-order cook taking orders for burgers and fries, while a UX designer is more like a chef who is catering to the clientele. The stakeholder is the sole and entire owner of the design. We are talking roles and job titles, not the basics of visual design. That's where people screw the term up.
I agree that the discrepancies between UX and UI were explained in a convoluted way. I am trying to get my foot in the door as a young individual so I am currently in the process of learning UX design and building portfolios. Thank you for sharing.
Nice video, explanation very clear
