I'd always go with the recommended mortocraft plugs. But I get it money I's tight for everyone right now. But I'd highly recommend staying away from autolites for these engines, denso are great plugs. Always go with platinum or iridium plugs with these engines depending on the year of the motor. These are great tips you gave here! I

Brother, you know I got you on those Lincoln druthers - druther see you with that Lincoln.
I'm thinkin the way old one is like a late forties Chevy, but, I could be out there - oh, speakin on - that's a generator not an alternator, generators still produce power with a dead battery, alternators don't, generators use permanent magnets which makes it charge with a dead battery but the output is limited by the same thing, alternators use electro-magnets, so they need electricity to make electricity but they have WAY higher output - they'll go full output just off idle if need be.
Way back to up front - always check cheapest parts/simplest parts first - always.
Autolite is owned by Fram filters - how much, you know, spark plug lives in the same house, like none.
Autolite plugs are like Champions, they're perfect in the lawnmower, anyplace else not so much. Motorcraft in the the Ford, even ACs (I know) to get by, but no eFFing Autolites or Champions.
Stay on your game little brother, you're winning!

yeah i should have known better, but i needed the plugs like right then.... I agree with Motorcraft only lmao... These Denso I had to put in cause i was not going back to the autolite deal ( thats what autozone carries ) ... Now the old ride a Chevy huh... and thats game on the generator deal... make sense do to the times having that system. I will have to revisit that Chevy again I like how it looked engine wise... This was a good class today Big Brother...

If it works for you that's golden cuz I seen it, but you're ALWAYS free to fly another, what's out there just might not fit for you - and I'm good with that.
It's just what I got, and if some does you good, I'm happy!

Will fit on your block given on where it was made. and they flow much better. We're just saying. Also, J is sorry he did not make more comments on your video. Here is what I'm thinking. Who is in better shape. The white or the black. You have 2 shells and 2 motors. But you also have a better chassis with the black one. (Front end). I know you did a tone of work on the white one. But what's better in the long run. 🤔 peace, my friend and stay well.

We're ALL "tight on money" -- all day, every day. 😁
It makes no sense to just change the spark plugs as a "starting point" in your search for a "No Codes" problem.
The most common "No Codes" problems are fuel-delivery related; such as fuel pressure regulator malfunction, dirty fuel injectors, clogged fuel filter, weak fuel pump, etc.
The time to "figure it out" is BEFORE you spend any money !!
For instance: You replace all 8 spark plugs, and the problem is still there -- you already spent what money you had on spark plugs, but it didn't help. WHAT do you do NOW !??

just a tip the usual thing to do is change the plugs. then check for compression followed by a leak down test. this just assures you didnt hurt your engine. stuck valve carbon and bent valves will cause a car to miss. i suggest a bore scope to see what you got goin on from there. sometimes its just a mouse havin lunch on your wires. why they love wires is beyond me but they can make havok on your car

A 1999 Grand Marquis has no OBD code to indicate an fuel injector's electrical connection has failed. Misfire can also come from a fuel injector failure. I have a 1999 Grand Marquis. An injector electrical connector had somewhat slipped out of its socket because the connector release tab had broken off. Not noticing this issue with the broken release tab, I'd check and later replace that cylinder's coil pack and would inadvertently press on injectors electrical connector which would temporarily reestablish connection. The engine would run perfectly for a while until vibrations again would disconnected the injector. Very frustrating. Finally noticed the issue when the process of elimination led me to consider the fuel injectors as a source of misfire. Realizing how to disconnect the injector's electrical connection revealed the problem behind the issue.

    • @bstfordchannel923
      @bstfordchannel923  Год назад

oh yes can be that also , but the scanner tool will tell you bad injector or connector on the newer vics.. Very common that connection goes.. we have to be mindful of everthing like you stated.. The cars are old and wiring does not last for ever.. Great comment Rusty

Hey quick question, I'm still trying to diagnose the noise on my crown vic before I bite the bullet and pull the Trans. Is the torque converter on a civi crown vic supposed to be able to slide back far enough for the studs to come completely out of the flex plate? I tried on mine but it wouldn't quite go back enough. I swore they were supposed to be able to clear completely, like SBC's torque converter can.
