This morning, i was inclined to go thrifting and usually when i get that little voice in my head that said i should go, i typically find something amazing, and today, i did. I found a green vintage Sears & Robuck kitchen scale with the pan! I have never found a kitchen scale at a thrift store let alone the pan with it.
Hello sweet friend! So excited for this video!😊 The silver metal bowl is so pretty..the handles & base! It looks hand crafted! It almost looks like the same metal as the colanders, which is chrome metal. I love sconces, the first ones are really pretty.. the second pair i have that same set & really love them! I always pick them up when i find them at a good price, if i like them of course. I like them made of any metal, brass, wood or even hard plastic. I use them all around.. by single pictures or in a gallery wall, by a mirror, a door way or just by themselves.. the ones like yours were in a gallery wall, not sure how I'll style them in the new house. I'll buy A single sconce or a pair. Just A great decor piece, & always great in a hallway! I really like the leather tray. I love the prints! I love Victorian prints or art of any kind! And really old photos of people adults, children & babies. A darker, chunky wood frame with a darker green mat would be beautiful for the horse prints! I like horse & carriage prints, very old world! I collect old vintage & antique lamps. Most are the smaller ones, but i do have a few larger or average size. One is A solid brass, shade too, replica of the ones that were in the captains quarters &i think some of the luxury suites of the Titanic. It has A little brass piece attached to the back that's the official seal. Reminds me A lot of the lamp in the picture but it has a single bulb. I would love to have one of the double bulb lamps with the pull chains or strings! Look I always see pieces in others buggies that i wish i would have found first!😄 I love mixing mirrors in gallery walls or layering then with art or empty frames on a shelf. I love finding pieces that are of presidents, artists, musicians or anyone famous from hundreds of years ago! I found a set of silhouettes that are of George Washington & his wife. But the silhouettes are made of black cast iron that are mounted & framed, with no glass of course. But they're pretty cool! OOOMGG!! Carin that lamp is gorgeous!!😮 No kidding, several of my fav lamps, including the lamp that got me started collecting, are hobnail milk glass! And that lamp is my bedside lamp. The base is a brass kettle with a globe basically like that & the clear hurricane shade that covers the bulb & comes up thru the globe, my other bedroom lamp is also hobnail milk glass that look like an oil lamp. I have a little candle lamp that's milk glass but its the diamond cut. That was A steal on that lamp! A piece i would take home then figure out where it would go!😉 I have a small collection of just milk glass decor pieces.. my fav pieces are a giraffe & a rocking horse, so sweet!🤍 Wow you really have a great haul, i loved everything!😊 Can't wait to see where & how you style them! Hope you had a wonderful Christmas. Yes... I am a somewhat regular thrifter, going to the same 4 thrift shops in our town. I do try and get to our large one when the door opens. There is a lineup outside waiting on most days. I do see the same people a lot of the time at these places. I have chatted with a couple of the ladies and we even know each others names now. There are a lot of thrifters who buy to fix up and sell; so they race in to get the good stuff. haha. I once had my eye on a large bowl; and before I could reach out fo pick it up; a man actually bumped me and grabbed it. I figured he wanted or needed it a lot more than I did. You found some great items. Thanks as always for sharing.

Yes, makes me so mad 😠 they don't even want the merchandise, they just want to make money. Those of us who actually decorate and appreciate those treasures sometimes miss out because those resellers spoil it for the rest of us. I know I sound immature, but it has happened to me several times. I believe this is the exact reason why Goodwill started charging more for their items because they have caught on.
Great finds! I am looking forward to your winter decorating. I also still want to enjoy the holiday decorations a bit more. Usually everything comes down on New Year’s Day. Little by little though I start rearranging things like my bookshelves so I can incorporate new gifts. Winter in my area is rain so I don’t do snowman or too much of wintery snow themes so not sure what I will do, but I am looking forward to new, fresh spaces!
Winter looks about the same here! It rained for a couple of days after Christmas and was dreary today. I’m taking Christmas down little by little…it’s a bit too overwhelming to do it all at once. But I’m ready and inspired to decorate for winter!! Thank you so much for watching Pam!
I've never heard of a hospice place like that and am so sad because our closest one is almost an hour away. But its good to know about different things like that for the future. I love that milk glass lamp. That will look amazing anywhere. I have a milk glass lamp with a brown embossing on it that I love. And I was able to find a shade like it, but I have no lamp for it yet. Hopefully , I'll get one soon.
Before we moved here, I had never heard of hospice charity shops either. The one that we have in our area really feels more like a small antique mall. The way that it is curated and staged is really lovely. It’s a little further out, than the usual thrift stores I go to. But I really need to make a habit of going more often! They have such great stuff! ❤️

I really am a big thrift shopper and yes, I too have actually walked around behind people to see if they were going to actually decide to remove something from their cart because it was actually something that I would love to have in my home as well. LOL. ( that’s what I do, if I have a question about an item, I will carry it in my cart and just before I check out I will go through my items and make a final decision if the item goes home with me…😉. All of your treasures are gorgeous and I look forward to hearing/seeing where and how you style them in your home. Another one of my favorite things to do is to walk through upscale shops where they have set up displays with new and beautiful upscale items that aren’t necessarily in my budget but I’m so energized creatively to figure out what about that has made the creative energy flow within me and then shop my home to get the feel of that and if I still need to, I will search for similar items on my next thrift shopping venture to complete that “feel” in my own home. I’d love to see you thrifting in one of my favorite shops because I’d be so excited to “ pick your brain” regarding my own home and shopping ventures. ❤. Wonderful finds! I understand your loss on the lamp, I “hung around” one thrift store because three Baldwin brass candlesticks that a friend mentioned to me were in someone’s cart and I thought maybe she would change her mind and put them back. No luck!😢. There was also a beautiful slant top desk I had my eye on for a couple of months (waiting for a price reduction). I went to purchase it the very day the last reduction was set and it had a sold sign on it. My daughter happened to be in the store that day and I thought she had purchased it for me for Mother’s Day. I was so excited because my daughter never shopped in that store. She said to me, you should have purchased it before. Needless to say, the desk did not appear on Mother’s Day. I was so disappointed and I am still mourning that little desk. My moral to this long story is: buy it when you first see it! Happy New Year to you and your family!

love the aluminum bowl. i got 2 big bags of the moss balls the other day for $3, i was stoked. we have 9 thrift stores in a row near me so i often play chasey with others that commit to doing them all in one go.

The silver bowl you showed doesn't look wrought-iron it looks aluminum. And the sconces look like resin plastic. I have some similar to them. I also bought mine at a veterans thrift store many years ago at about the same price you paid. Besides some small ornate Italian picture frames and the candle sconces, they are the only items I have ever thrifted ever! ....😊

Carin a woman's intuition listen to it next time so you won't miss out on good items. I would be so devastated. My ancestors used to keep the Christmas decor up to January 6 for 3 kings day and on the 4th everything is put away. The thrift hawl was amazing. Happy holidays, we still have New Year's.

I have had almost an exact experience with a woman in my area. I teasingly tell my husband she's my nemesis. Always one step ahead of me. Ya never know, she may own a store nearby and will sell it to you. That's the situation for my "nemesis". Unfortunately, you will end up paying way more than the thrift price. 🥴. Please forgive me if this sounds horribly selfish, but I was donating items to Goodwill, and as the volunteer emptied my car, a breathtaking, winter-white Porsche convertible pulled up behind me, with the most high-end pair of buttery lambskin armchairs I have ever seen. The volunteer told him he would be with him in a minute, so he was just sitting there waiting his turn...... and I was SOOOOOoooo tempted to walk back and tell him that I would be more than happy to relieve him of those burdens!!! Instead, I drove off empty-handed, hating myself for being such a *bleeping* good person...☹️

I believe the Rodney Kent hammered aluminum bowl is from the 1950-1960’s, online prices are averaging $20-$30. Love the prints & candle sconces . ❤

My daughter happened to be in the store that day and I thought she had purchased it for me for Mother’s Day. I was so excited because my daughter never shopped in that store. She said to me, you should have purchased it before. Needless to say, the desk did not appear on Mother’s Day. I was so disappointed and I am still mourning that little desk. My moral to this long story is: buy it when you first see it! Happy New Year to you and your family!

love the aluminum bowl. i got 2 big bags of the moss balls the other day for $3, i was stoked. we have 9 thrift stores in a row near me so i often play chasey with others that commit to doing them all in one go.

The silver bowl you showed doesn't look wrought-iron it looks aluminum. And the sconces look like resin plastic. I have some similar to them. I also bought mine at a veterans thrift store many years ago at about the same price you paid. Besides some small ornate Italian picture frames and the candle sconces, they are the only items I have ever thrifted ever! ....😊

Carin a woman's intuition listen to it next time so you won't miss out on good items. I would be so devastated. My ancestors used to keep the Christmas decor up to January 6 for 3 kings day and on the 4th everything is put away. The thrift hawl was amazing. Happy holidays, we still have New Year's.

Have been looking for 2 smaller wall sconces, either for a candle or wired in. But so far no luck.

I have had almost an exact experience with a woman in my area. I teasingly tell my husband she's my nemesis. Always one step ahead of me. Ya never know, she may own a store nearby and will sell it to you. That's the situation for my "nemesis". Unfortunately, you will end up paying way more than the thrift price. 🥴. Please forgive me if this sounds horribly selfish, but I was donating items to Goodwill, and as the volunteer emptied my car, a breathtaking, winter-white Porsche convertible pulled up behind me, with the most high-end pair of buttery lambskin armchairs I have ever seen.
The volunteer told him he would be with him in a minute, so he was just sitting there waiting his turn...... and I was SOOOOOoooo tempted to walk back and tell him that I would be more than happy to relieve him of those burdens!!!
Instead, I drove off empty-handed, hating myself for being such a *bleeping* good person...☹️
