I didn’t have a choice in what brand car I bought. The car I just bought was all I could afford. I drive it to go to work. I drive it to see my family. It’s the closest to a home I can afford to own. Because of people like trump. The middle class will never get ahead. The poor will stay poor.
With the price of rent in California and lack of rent control, many will be living in their cars soon

Given their history of perpetual money laundering scandals and other things, it makes me wonder if they even do legit business. I remember all these 80's action movies and spy movies where all the bad guys use "swiss bank accounts", but in reality if you are in the criminal underworld I guess you just call up your local Deutsche Bank guy and they got your criminal needs covered.

We have the checks repaying Cohen for the Stormy thing. We have Trump on the record saying he fired Comey "because of the Russia thing" on multiple occasions. We have tweets of straight up witness tampering. We have records of asset value inflations and devaluation for the purposes of bank, insurance and tax fraud. Do we need more smoking guns?

The point of originalism - the far-right judicial activist philosophy- is to use the courts to seize power that would not otherwise be attained - if they wanted to, they would bar trump from being subpoena'd - but this would be a poor political move. That's the only reason they will not do it.
They may however, decide to grant certiorari (hear it) in the supreme court, merely to delay it.

The existence of the report is not secret - its contents are. The same way you know that the Secret Service exists, but not what it specifically does.
Us consumers will be hurt. If this worked, why not apply to everything and stop imports completely?
So how will the tariffs be implemented? Many foreign company cars are made here in the USA. Nissan, for example, has a car assembly plant in Tennessee. Honda makes the Accord in the states. Toyota, BMW and VW also have plants in the US.
So my question is, are the tariffs also going to be on those models made in the US? POSSIBLY, making those plants reduce the amount of US workers having a job? I am not saying this is the case but something to think about and consider for the US worker.
So, if foreign cars pose a security threat to the USA, how does increasing tax on them solve the security threat? Isn't the security threat still there? I'm lost on this one.

Tax imported cars and people buy less cars. They still can't afford domestic by taxing imported.
Countries will in turn do the same to exports. Lowering sales, in turn, losing millions of jobs.
People buy imports for better fuel economy. Taxing imports will push the electric vehicle through faster backfiring your plan but good news for the environment.

The Commerce "report" is probably brainstorming. In the 70's (after Detroit) when manufacturing began to migrate (to avoid dead-heading), Labor began to boohoo about foreign competition and demanded that some of "foreign manufacturing" be done in the States. Tariffs would be counterproductive. The White House is 'real time' developments on just about everything. The "Commerce report" might just be just another 'something' that executive privilege would insulate. Let's hope that the President is on the level and acting accordingly as well as absolutely wanting knowledge that 'a crime' IS the event. AND we should hope that "a crime" is only a windstorm.
