What happened to this guys channel? :( He made great content and had amazing advice/ideas
Really, times in America are kinda getting worrisome... it'd be nice to watch more of these types of videos. They are really informative and useful.

Thank you for taking the time to put this video together and including and honest review. Whether battlemerchant or any other supplier the moral of the story here is with the good bones of quality materials and some basic hand work any cheap tool can be improved. We live in a time when people buy and use disposable tools. The best equipment I have acquired is through flea markets, often only a dollar or 2 for an old rusty axe head of high quality. With some time and new handle you have a 200 plus ticket item that will be reliable for atleast 20 years.
Great build! I figure if I make another 5 of these they'll look almost as good as yours! Sure do hope you're coming back.
Really enjoyed this channel. Especially the old videos from the original channel. Hope you're doing well. Cheers.
Miss your videos...
What happened to this guy? He disappeared.
A little long in the tooth, however, great customization of what cold steel mass produces and in doing so they mass fail. For your videos to not be monetized, just proves RUclips employees wankers! Keep up your good work!
Wheres the vid of you in the alps bro? Just seen your channel, i like the vids, seen you havent posted on insta since 018 aswell... hope this guys good.
He's alive!!🤣
Still waiting and hoping you're okay!
BRING THIS CHANNEL BACK. You're needed more now than ever!
Hey guys you alright? Haven't heard from yall in a while.
Where you at?
I Also Prefer Axes Over Anything.... but I’m stuck with a machete!
Story of my life, find a cool channel and he hasn't been active in over 6 years...
Are you ever going to come back to RUclips i miss watching your videos, don't listen to what anyone else says about you I think what you do is cool and The things that you make is awesome just come back please 🙏
Amazing channel, one of the best on YT, keep it up bro! Plz
We miss your videos, dude. Where have you been?
Something serious must have happened. He built his new house, working his new job, got his videos going again, then...nothing. His wife was active commenting here and on Facebook, then...nothing. I ordered from his store, paid for it, he said his wife shipped it, yet I received...nothing. Emailed him about not receiving it and wanting my money back...I heard nothing. Seems they disappeared. I wish someone would tell us something.
Come back!!!!!
I need your vids!!!!
Are you done with the RUclips thing it's been 10 months wonder what's going on maybe give us an update video
It's a pleasure to see a great craftsmann building some amazing pieces of art with pure skill and creativity!!!!
I agree that handle fitment was poor at best. Glad you showed the people who don't know the proper way of fitting a handle to an ax head the proper way.
Hey man where did you go? How has it been 5 years
Hej hej Hannes!
I like the concept of this video. If you are a family father and have not that much money for your hobby your idea is a great chance to get nice budget gear.
Thank you for that, greetings from the Pielachtal =)
Michael
where are you man?
@22:40 Convex my dude. Hollow is concave, flat is flat, "bulged" is convex. Really good video!
What happened man. I hope you are not in jail. .
I ordered a couple of things from his new store, never saw my items or my money. He replied to an email saying they were on the way (they weren't), then he disappeared. Despite being out the money, I hope he and his family are okay.
I would love to do a collaboration with you. I think that something like that would be awesome.
I miss this channel
Is this guy still alive?
@@Mrgeoffox maybe I hope he's doing well
Great video -- good point on the bandsaw cut -- odd that they would hand-forge the blade, but use a bandsaw on the handle, and then undercut so badly.
BTW, the bulging grind that you put on the blade -- I believe that is called a "lenticular" grind.
When are you making more videos? Always enjoy your survival creations. And I love the axes and knives.
can't wait for the follow-up! also, i had ads in your video :)
i miss this show
What’s up?! You ok? Give us an update please
well done young done but don't ever think your the only one doing this I've done the same on a small knock of hatchet the original one was 185 bucks here in the states the knock of was close to yours 26 bucks I believe . Received it look good handle grain look like a looser nice color as yours took it out and on the second whack on the stump bang handle shatters nothing but knots under the color . So I called the dealer they said sorry they would send another one ,they did same problem I did not call the dealer this time they did not want the first one to be returned so now I have 2 heads were made of 1075 . So Picked up 2 hickory handles . There was another problem inside the head a void when the steel had shank in the forging process so I filled that up with a little welding filed it to fit re handled them both and they are outstanding small hatchets with a very cool look . I have also done this with low and mid range knives making new sheaths and putting on new stabilized scales of all kinds . So take care I am with you .Happy trails
I'm gonna have to ask... why are you not payed by RUclips? This was an amazing video and I'm sure so are the other ones based on the way you carry yourself. Congrats anyhow! And keep up the good work 👍
This is a great channel. I know this platform has been hard on these guys with the shadow-banning. Now that Odysee and other platforms are rocking, it would be great to see these guys come back. They would do well on Rumble also.
Just watched some of your videos again and I have to say I'm missing your input. I hope you're doing well and still hope to see you come back. And I'm hoping still hoping you'll make a video about a survival airgun...
Never regret one second watching your vids, mate.👍
I think you did a big favor to battlemerchant being 100% honest a lot of us are into customize our gear and very exceptic about influencer that are all praise (kudos for them to have the guts to give you freedom) soooo good to see you again pal and thanks for stick to your beliefs (it$ not ea$y)
great video as always.
you make things look so easy to do. thanks for inspiring me to do things myself.
How do you prep when in Australia because there's lots of laws and regulations that you have to follow and idk how to prepare for a sh*t hits the fan scenario, all I have is a collapsible shovel with serrated edge and some camping gear which I use alot but still
Hello- I have the same axe that I got as a gift about two years ago. I did not look at it as close as your doing and did not notice the wood was cut down at the axe head. Im going to fix mine so I wont have to worry about it breaking doing light work. Thanks-
Hey! I hope everything is ok with you guys! I loved y'alls videos!
just found this channel and he stopped making videos yrs ago . wonder what happened to him ?
If you stay steady you will be a million subscribers and taking in cash

It's great
"This little knife is my edc"
Little knife????
LEGEND.
I freakin love this channel.
Very informative video. You have lots of good ideas. The original undercut for the handle fitment was pathetic.
I read an American history book about early American blacksmithing. Some of the blacksmiths used sugar that was burned on the steel for a coating. Since sugar is mostly carbon it made sense. Heated the steel or wrought iron in a fire. Then covered the hot metal with sugar. The sugar burned off leaving 100% carbon coating. I tried this on an metal punch long ago in 1976. It is still on punch after 42 years. And still much better than that black paint.
Axe prices are ridiculous. You transformed a 20 buck axe into a 120 axe in maybe 30 minutes. Except if you make over 200 bucks a hour at your daily job there is no reason to buy an expensive one.
In the end, it's a piece of steel on a stick.
I will go check out the sponsor. I have a lot more respect for a company that is willing to risk an honest review. I don’t think anyone expect the same fit and finish for a 1/10 the price, but it’s still good know what’s good, what’s bad, and be able to decide if it’s a good deal for yourself.
Excellent video. I understand you received the original product for free. You were honest in your review pointing out the good and bad. Then demonstrated how to fix the problems you found.
very nice mod on this hatchet!! looking forward to your overnighter in the woods
You should never breathe in that paint dust, my friend. Very unhealthy and risky when a simple mask is so cheap and easy. One time or two times no pr9blem but when you do this for a living or even as a hobby, you have to think about seeing those kids marry and have little viking grandkids
I wonder if the manufacturer will take your ideas on improving their product and use them? Great video! Appreciate your honesty.
it's basically a 20 euro hatchet kit with really good parts some reassembly required
It's always nice to see you on video. Thanks for the great tips, as always. Hope you are well settled in to your new place. I look forward to seeing your next video of the overnight stay in the Tyrolean woods. Wishing you continued success.
I like the look of that axe. You did a great job on improving it. You might consider selling the axe to support your channel.👍👏👌
I like your review, it's not just an opinion but also a guide how to improve your purchase.
If the goal is a great tool for little money don't buy a cheap one and attempt to turn it into something that is simply trying to be great, spend less money on a vintage tool that is actually great and of lifetime quality and put it back into working order.
he is talking about an "apple seed" edge. this is my favorite type of bevelling because it creates a very sturdy amount of steel so the blade has better edge retention as well as it lowers the amount of surface area in contact with whatever you are cutting, this makes it much more efficient. the apple seed edge is the same as what you will find on authentic katanas. The apple seed bevel is difficult to do well but if you do manage it then it will work very well.
I am impressed with this. You are always on the up & up! I hope you find more sellers that are not afraid to let you 'put it out there' on their products. Now I am going to battlemerchant to check them out.
You have integrity. That's important.
Great video! I really like this idea of taking inexpensive items and making them better. And you are the perfect teacher in this regard.
This was a little bit of a long video. I mean...for 19€, a little time and effort you can get an ok tool out of it.
Can't wait for the test on this axe!!!, also congrats on that 20,000.
excellent video you took and really improved the hatch
yeah, the axe is the ultimate surviving tool (for me)
Thanks for your honesty, it's rare these days to get an honest opinion. Stay true 👍
Could you show us how you forge thick pieces of steel?
