Fun Fact: This game was made by the same people who made Carrion. In fact, I theorize that Carrion could be a sort of prequel of Butcher.

We actually went back and forth on the idea in the discord for quite a while; some of the more interesting ideas were that the “Guardian” in Butcher was either humankind’s last response in trying to deal with the Carrion monster, OR that the Guardian _was_ the Carrion monster after it had taken over earth, and that everything you kill in Butcher is actually just a hideous facsimile made by the Carrion to try and stop you (and if you look at the artwork on the Steam trading cards, that’s entirely believable to me)
Ultimately, whilst the link between the games was never explicitly established, nor was it explicitly denied either
I haven’t been in the discord for years now, but I look forward to seeing the third offering from Sebastian, whatever that might be
