The log is glassed to the hull, you can see the process in a few of our videos. The cutlass bearing is set in with caulking and set screws, the shaft seal is a packing gland or dripless attached to the log with a hose and hose clamps.
How bad is the access to the shaft seal (stuffing box) with this arrangement? Thinking about an Albin 28 with a Cummins and V Drive. A little worried about access.
Cool to see how you straightened the shaft. Always wondered how that was done.
Nice work guys
I had shaft seal replaced i think the log leaks do you have an pics of that or details? Does the shaft log just get glued to the cutlass housing?
Take pics and upload to our forum. Www.sbmar.com/community
Don't have a pic but have water coming out of cutlass when hauled. Looking for a pic
Not all boats are built the same. Without a few pic its hard for me to help.
Albin 28te same boat you are working on in video. Is shaft log fiberglass and jus glued to bearing housing?

All v drives are pretty tight in this arena, that is why a lot of people go drip-less.
