Best engine I ever owned, averaged 10.000 miles a year commercial fishing. Never had a base engine problem in ten years. As the man said the Sherwood pumps are not the best, but I changed them every two years and you can forget them. Looked after and they are bullet proof, with massive power for a light weight engine.
Great vid Corey. Looked like 1 take which is impressive. Metric Horse Power can also be called PS (Pferdestarke) 1 BHP = 1.0143MHP. There was also a 3% increase for fuel temp adjustment as ISO8665 is tested at 40 degC and MHP is calculated at 25 deg C, hence the addition of fuel coolers. The US companies adopted this to make a even playing field with the Europeans manufactures. I like the deletion of the fuel coolers and the air heaters. Ever since the change from the old 4 hole injector CPL 2172 to the 5 hole CPL 8089 we found that the soot build up on the transom really disappeared. Particularly commercial vessel operating in warmer conditions there was just no need for the added complexity of the air heater. The new aftercooler with the low pressure check valve for condensation drain off works well in humid conditions. The Neutral safety lockout plug also has the connection for gear oil pressure if you are running the old standard panel We were receiving a remote oil filter kit with our 430 / 450 recons. Not sure if you are seeing those in your upfit kits.
@@sumpjunkie Wow! Some great info there! Im sure a lot of people will find that useful. A little too much depth for us to include in the video, but I encourage anyone who has a experience or knowledge regarding these engines to chime in. Thanks! And yeah, Corey did that in one take, which is impressive. Only one tweak in post. Makes my job as editor easy.
@@SeaboardMarineIncVideos The one thing our customers did not like was the hose between the aftercooler and the gear oil cooler. If you were running a non standard type of mixer or diverting through a hydraulic cooler pre mixer and a back pressure is created on the raw water flow, that hose balloons out and fails, not sure if you have seen it. Such a great engine. Easy to sea trial and diagnose. If you are getting your 58 - 60hg of Intake manifold pressure - they were punching out 430hp. They sit on 82 C degrees typically - if you are up over 90 C you have a problem. Repowered an old 400C a couple of years ago with the Nippendenso pump. Not many of those around. Great explanation on the engine.
Hello, I have two of these engines. Both turbochargers are different from each other. Can you please tell me the turbocharger label or turbocharger blade numbers?

Great explanation on the engine.
Awesome video. Have you done anything similar for the QSC? Thank you for all you do for the Cummins boating community.
Great tutorial on the 450 diamond! Thank you!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Thanks, great engine tour!!!
Glad you enjoyed it.
Spot on!👊🏻🇺🇸⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Awesome video. How about a 480CE tour?
If we had one here physically at our shop, we would! That would be the BEST engine tour!

Great engine tour, thank you! One question, can you advise how I adjust idle rpm on this engine?
There is a good article on our website. Google this. SBMAR bosch P7100 Idle adjustment
Can yall do a 6bta 330 diamond
Definitely coming soon! It will take a few months, but we plan on going through most of the midrange Cummins engines.
