Thank you! I’ve always said this exact same thing. The weird thing is they’re hands down one of the greatest live bands I’ve ever heard. I have them up there with Pink Floyd and Queen. But for whatever reason One hardly ever comes out well. In my opinion the best version of One is in 1995 at the Pavarotti concert in Italy. They played it with a full symphony. It just filled out the sound perfectly. So I think that’s what it is. When they play it live without that if feels thin. They could make up for that when Bono‘s voice was still good. But as it got worse over their career One began to decrease in live performance quality.

@@wahillyman I love all the wierd, wacky, wonderful stuff John Peel played back then...Nowadays I dont think there is any radio show on any mainstream radio that plays the kind of stuff he played .....he took the time to listen to people with very limited resources producing inspiring and interesting stuff made in their bathroom, Kitchen, bedroom, garage or whereever else....tunes pieces were probably usually sent in to him on a cheap cassette tape...

I usually don't like live performances of One, but this is just perfect, a closer to the Achtung Baby's version.
