I think the charge essential 2 is the same as charge 5 without the extra colors the extra dust proof and the partyboost function. The drivers are the same.

Hi. The JBL Charge 5 has more advanced connectivity - the JBL Charge Essential 2 has only the essential things. If the price is the same i will definitely go with the JBL Charge 5. Cheers!

So I understand the Essential 2 can not play in party boost mode. But can it play as stereo pair (2 essential speakers as left and right channel)???
No the charge essential has no dual paring feature what so ever

But you can use Dual Audio apps!

I have both charge 5 last 8 hours longer on full volume and bass 10/10 charge 5 /10 for essential 2
