@@Leao_M I'm not sure how far "afar" is but yes I would say people in the surrounding area would hear it. Not gonna bring down the house but it's perfect for backyard gatherings and general listening.
Just a helpfull tip: The USB-C port doesn't need to be covered anymore since they made it waterproff. You just have to let it dry out before you can charge it. It's ment to be more convenient because you don't have to lift the rubber flap. Don't worry about getting it wet.🙃
Bought this yesterday, Sunday on Amazon, arrived Monday early afternoon. Very happy with it. Tried it outside today and I set the JBl app to Bass up 2 to the top, mid down 1 and treble centered. Also set my VLC player to +12 +10 +5 +2 +3 +3 +2 -1 +1 +4 Sound is now great for such a small speaker. I am a bit biased as I have twin 10 inch subs on my home theater and twin 12 inch subs in my car so I am used to pumping bass. I am listening to R&B and rock and this speaker is amazing for it's size. I will buy one more soon for using in stereo and I believe that also pumps the bass right up there. You will not regret buying this. I have used JBL since the 70's and never been disappointed with any of their speakers.
@@mustafafkaya, The sound is very clear. I think it is a great choice for jazz and hip hop. I have the bass set fairly high so it sounds great even outdoors, amazing for such a small speaker. I am planning to get another one and run them in stereo which I reckon will be totally awesome sound. JBL are known for crisp clear sound and the Charge 5 is no exception.
JBL promises 20h of playing with the volume at 50%. And it also depends on the kind of music you're listening to. Songs that require more bass are gonna spend more energy and drain the battery faster. Also... check if the battery was indeed fully charged. Because it comes from JBL with 50% battery charged. Not fully.
@@hendersonribeirobrandina2120 yes it is fully charged. I tested it again at 30% to 40% volume and I only get roughly 10-12 hours. When it is 80% I only get 3 hours. I reached out to JBL and they said that it depends on how I use it. This is already a false advertising.
That package looks kinda cheap, almost like a fake speaker. Ive seen several reviews from Latam and the package of the Charge 5 looks way nicer and more "original"
First, it’s hard to see how any sort of realistic sound test of a speaker can be performed over YT audio. Second, I have yet to see a single speaker test on YT that used an actual sound level measuring device, y’ know, decibels and all that. People love to say something like “This is 60% volume,” which is of course completely uninformative.
Has anyone reviewing these things ever heard really good sound, not punchy passive radiator bass and smooth bass that rolls off gradually? The bass heads love this stuff. I have one of these, my company gifted it to me and it works remotely with my laptop using it for zoom meetings and such but I'd NEVER want to listen to it for any amount of time unless I was drinking heavily lol.
I have had a number of JBL's since 1976 and a few other top end speakers including JL audio and Kicker in my SUV's. For the size of these they are amazing and just require correct settings in the JBL app and the equalizer on your phone. I listen to R&B and rock plus a bit of Jazz and they are excellent. I'd love to know what you have for a home system and what you expect of the JBL charge 5?
How did they lie? Did they specify the volume level for 20 hours of play? You do understand that the power draw likely increases in a non-linear way as the volume increases.
I went th through so many lower priced speakers. Finally got the Charge 5 and am extremely pleased.
How loud is it in your opinion like whenever your walking will people from afar be able to hear the music ?

Still would make more sense to just have that under the flap since you wouldn't have to wait for it to dry

I just bought mine yesterday and my battery lasts for only 3-4 hours at 80% volume. Is that normal?
hmmm... I have not tested mine for that long. But JBL promise up to 12 hours...

Who listens to music for 10-12 hours anyway?😅 Are you taking this on a hike or sth?
That's more than enough.
Bluetooth speakers are gadgets that allow us to listen to music at home or on the go.
Tbh this speaker is awesome. And I was able to get it for only €110
Yea, its hard to understand what you're getting into until you have it in front of you. I like mine.
I just bought a certified refurb charge 5 from amazon for 100 bucks , cant wait to get it. Been looking for a speaker i can take to work
What is the song??
Does jbl charge 5 have microphone
For phone calls ?
Nice review bro! ✌🏼
Charge 5 speaker is slight bigger and have a separate tweeter and a total of 40W!
Does it have Aux function where you can use it on TV📺
I am sorry it doesn't but the Charge 4 does have an AUX
Your bi neural micro sounds awesome
Would you prefer this over the mega boom 3?
I have not tried the Mega boom, I will look into it. So many products to test 😁
the sound qulity is so good much much better then 6
The only thing that stops me buying is that it doesn't have a headphone jack.
Most cell phones don't even have a traditional AUX jack on them anymore lol
this thing needs to be paired with the boombox 3 if your going clubbing
