I stopped in 2000 wasn’t too much interested after that. In the book it will tell you who ,position, how high it got on the chart. And how many weeks it stayed in the top 40. Joel Whitburn. Great trivia book. Some little details that I would have lost my paycheck on. Ray Charles “ Georgia on my mind “ was first done by Hoagie Carmichael. Hank Williams “Long gone lonesome blues” You guessed it not his. Done in the late 20’s and 30’s. Emit Miller.( Looks like he did about half the songs in country music during his vaudeville days.) My biggest surprise was Tennessee Ernie Ford. 16 tons was not his biggest hit! 16 tons was # 1 for 10 weeks. Shotgun Boogie #1 for 14. I can still remember that song listening to it on the phonograph.( notice not the stereo 😆) Thanks for the soap box time. Hope you find this interesting.

I also saw a very old tape of when Dick Clark interviewed Terry just as his record was skyrocketing. Terry was a genuine, humble and very likeable guy. RIP Terry.

I hadn't heard this song since I was a kid. When I was around six. Then one day I heard this song and it brought back this feeling and memories I hadn't experienced in years. Even to this day it's almost haunting. Great song!

I also thought that it was Elvis and I was 13 when it was out. I bought it and I fell in love with Terry Stafford. He was really good looking too. I was told later that he wrote a lot of songs like Amarillo by Morning that George Strait had such a hit on.
My older brother came home from the army he was going to marry his girl, but someone wrecked into him and blew his brain out 😭😭 and this song was playing. I'm leaving it up to you 😭😭😭 I'm 63 now I never got to see my brother.
This song haunts me. I was born in 1957. Growing up in the sixties I have memories that are not clear but are in the fringes. I feel like I have lost the knowledge of something beautiful and will never experience it again. All that's left now is old age and death.

I hadn't heard this song since I was a kid. When I was around six. Then one day I heard this song and it brought back this feeling and memories I hadn't experienced in years. Even to this day it's almost haunting. Great song!

Elvis sang much better. Terry Stafford tried to imitate him, but he failed. Elvis's voice is much better. Elvis is better at everything.

I also thought that it was Elvis and I was 13 when it was out. I bought it and I fell in love with Terry Stafford. He was really good looking too. I was told later that he wrote a lot of songs like Amarillo by Morning that George Strait had such a hit on.

This song haunts me. I was born in 1957. Growing up in the sixties I have memories that are not clear but are in the fringes. I feel like I have lost the knowledge of something beautiful and will never experience it again. All that's left now is old age and death.

Saw jimmy Maestro at the Fort Myers convention center. It had to be 10 or 11 years ago. The guys voice was like he was 16. He lived in Cape Carol. Died not to long after that. It was a shock. God bless Jimmy Maestro
