All the non-plastic are beautiful in appearance and sound. I bought the plastic (w/o the tri-force) to learn on. This is a great piece IMHO. Your milage may vary..
Porcelain seems to have the best balance. Though I don't mind the brightness of the clay version, it seems to project the best. That said i'm getting the plastic one haha. Very useful, at least now i know what to expect.
I recently bought an ocarina. The high notes sounds flat or screechy. but i just blew it out like you said in the video and it cleared them up. Idk if residue was left over from the creation of the instrument or what but my high notes sound like high notes now.
It can also be a breath pressure issue. The higher the note, the more particular the note is to play, so those high D-E-F notes can be a bit wobbly when you're learning
All sound lovely. The purple clay & Porcelain definitely have a nicer tone & sound. The other two are more breathy (if that's a word😀) which is still nice but possibly not for recording. I'd started writing this before your speaking began. So breathy is a word.😀 sorry for the lengthy comment.
Thank you for your thoughts! Yes they all sound and play a bit differently. Sometimes a breathy sound could be the right call in a situation. But I do love the Porcelain one...
Do you have any recommendations for a quiet (as quiet as it can be) alto C ocarina? I live in an apartment and I'm afraid to annoy the neighbors with my playing 😢
Hm, I honestly don't know what the quietest alto ocarina on the market is. I will say, the larger and lower pitched they are, the quieter they tend to play. I'm sorry that I can't be of more help.
Porcelain ocarinas have such a beautiful sound, unmatched by any other material in my opinion. Thanks for the video, very clear and informative.
My pleasure! Thanks so much for watching. So happy you enjoyed the video.
That's the sunken cost talking.
Love those comparison videos! Thanks for the video, very informative and objective!
Great! I love that you find them helpful. 😊 That's what I'm goin' for!
I love the way you explain the qualities of each instrument
Aww thanks dude. 😊🎶
I have a ceramic tenor. Just bought the plastic base for budget reasons. Glad to see it’s decent!
How do you like it?

How do you like the plastic bass?
@@martinwright1575 plays nice, I like the tone. Easy blow. I have no talent, or ear, but I like it.
@@johnhoye6584 Cool, thanks! I'm gonna get one 🙏🏻

The exact comparison I was looking for! I've got the plastic one, but have been wondering how much better the porcelain ones are.

The white ocarina is the best
