Great video and thanks for sharing! I was wondering on rub-rail repairs where only a small portion of the end is peeling off, how would one repair a section of it? I wouldn’t want to remove the entire rail. Can I follow your prep with sanding as close as possible to the glued on section?
Can you do a strength test on those glue on D rings they sell. I want to put some on my inflatable for a swim ladder and was wondering how strong they were.
I have poly marine glue for hypalon that is in one container. So I was wondering when you said two part glue do you mean the two coats? Or do you mean a glue that mixes together? I got this specifically for my zodiac and just want to make sure I do it, right
@@gashopperinc OK but that’s still the same bottle of glue being used it’s not like an epoxy you’re mixing together correct? I understand that there is two coats. The glue that I bought for hypalon material is one glue not a two part glue.
@keithbeall4610 we never use a 1 part glue here. We always use a 2 part glue. Especially for handles. 2 part glues are for structural assembly, the 1 part is mainly for small repair patches or touch ups on peeling sections and doesn't hold well with stress. You can try using the 1 part glue but be cautious that it will fail.
@@gashopperinc thank you that’s what I wanted to confirm. I have only used the one part glue so far on reattaching a seam on the bow. Then I’m patching over that with a patch kit. Do you have a two-part glue you recommend for the handles?
Thanks mate from Australian much appreciated thanks for taking the time to help others 🏆

You sure can. It recommended to do the whole rail, but if it's still strong on the most part, just do a touch up on the peeling section.
Great video. What would you use to clean up old glue on a PVC boat? Not acetone I'd imagine? Thanks
Acetone or MEK (Methyl Ethyl Keytone). Acetone is the generic cleaner if MEK isn't available in your area.

Good idea, I'll dig up an old boat and find some handles and do a test for my viewers.
Thank you that would be awesome
Do you have full air in the boat ? Or maybe half ? Where do you buy the glue ?
Preferred to have the boat aired up fully when doing handles. Can buy the glue from our shop. Can use Stabond or Zodiac glue.
@@gashopperinc do you ship to Canada ?
Mines not a handle it’s the actual front pulll . I need some material to if you sell it
@@gashopperinc mines a wiking German inflatable . Have you heard of them ?
Yes, we're located in Canada actually. Visit our websites, everything is listed there. www.gashopperinc.com
What would you recommend to clean mold off them
I have a video on how to thoroughly clean these boats. It's a recently posted one.
heyy great video but i spilled a bit of glue on my boat and now i dont know how to get it off maybe you have a tip thanksss
MEK or Acetone wiping to soften the glue and my have to sand it away, very lightly till you get to the fabric surface.

You'll need a 2 part glue, with 2 coats each side being glued.

I would recommend Zodiac Z7098 or Stabond UK-148. Both are 2 Part Hypalon Glue applications.
They will never come off, thats why your fixing them😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
