I miss my kishu mandarin, lost it to a freeze 3 years ago. All mandarins cling to the plant. I usually use hand pruners to cut them from the tree so they last longer. Best to eat as you harvest, quality goes down pretty quickly after you pick it. Tree looks really healthy, doing a great job.

@@SoxInTheGarden I hope so. I can't find it locally anymore and Houston is now in a quarantined county. The closest I know of one I can buy is in Austin, and that is about 5 hours away. It is a really good tasting tree and totally seedless, easy to peal.
Yes, I’m going to wait till they’re a darker orange. It was still yummy, though, as if the tartness was just an accent on the side. Like drinking orange juice that’s sweet but has a satisfying tartness to quench your thirst. Yumminess! 🥰❤️❤️❤️
I can’t wait until my husband and I are retired so I can play more in my garden like you and your hubby, sis! I work Monday through Friday 8am to 5pm (I just happened to be off today, so I caught Trib’s live by chance). Its too dark before and after work, so I can only garden on weekends right now.

Hi Mike! There are so many kinds of zip up grow houses to choose from, and I primarily starting growing things because I LOVE fruit, lol. I started growing citrus in 2020, because my sister told me she had professional gardener friends who couldn’t grow citrus here in WA, so she said there was “no way” I could do it. 😂❤️
