I met Kai and Jukka at the NW meet and greet in São Paulo. In addition to being excellent musicians, they are very kind, humble and smiling guys. I told Kai he's amazing and he told me he just tries. I really wish I could have told him that his precision reminds me a lot of Neil. But I got nervous and messed up. I managed to welcome Jukka, who had a huge smile. I thanked Troy, already very emotional. I told Floor that she's the best vocalist in the world, which she must listen to 500 times a day. I said "Emppu, Brazil loves you", which was a really stupid thing because of the rhyme, but true. He thanked me shyly and kindly. Finally I arrived at Tuomas and I burst into tears. I gave him an Atreyu and Falkor t-shirt from Neverending Story. I said how much the music he makes changed my life. I hope he wears it one day because I know he loves movie t-shirts, but I think I got the size wrong. I tried to control myself because I know that Finnish people are not as crazy as Brazilians, so I maintained what was left of my composure and a certain distance, out of respect for the more reserved Finnish culture. But I am extremely grateful and this was one of the happiest days of my life. I hope to be able to tell Jari, someday, how the music he makes changes my life in every way possible. And thank Teemu for his beautiful chords and solos, humility and kindness.
I really appreciate a guy like Kai who is a great player, a member of the most successful symphonic metal band apart from WS and other projects and yet so down to earth. Never forgetting the milestones of his journey. For example, he mentioned that the first Wintersun album is in his heart and how Jari helped him to push the boundaries. Great guy!
16:30 I usually listen to the whole album all the way through so I for one really appreciate the intros! Album wouldn't be the same without them. Haven't heard the whole Fields of Snow yet obviously, but When Time Fades Away is great.
I love the intros as well! When listening to the album front to back, its a whole vibe and not just "hooks" and cool riffs. The intros paint this beautiful picture of whats to come. Also love the outro on Time 1

I think I can somehow empathize with that because of all the little things Marty did in the song and it's so beloved that getting a bend/slide wrong sounds very jarring. It's kind of like trying to nail Comfortably Numb, the technique isn't super high, but god help you if mess up a single note in a Gilmour solo.

Jari my guy, i cannot listen to the albums or the songs without the intros that precede them in the tracklist... before we got Time I v.1.5 from the forest package i would always listen to when time fades away before Sons, and darkness and frost before Time... now the latter there's no option but to listen to it, not that i'm complaining, i find that these parts are inseparable from the songs as they set them up very well... really excited for fields of snow (and i hope it has some references to silver leaves that will hit hard when you listen from start to finish!)

Black Mesa took 16 years but is now considered almost 100% perfect. Even the part where technology needed time to advance to achieve the vision is similar. Time will be understood and respected in the same way.
Disagree with the "People don't listen to intros" I think the intros make the songs perfect. Then again, I like to listen to albums from start to finish.

Getting as strong vibrato as Marty did with the speed is extremely difficult. But if you compare the speedy intervals only Winter Madness is harder
Idk I personally found the vibrato to be farily learnable, but only because Ben Eller made an amazing tutorial
