    Hi Louise, I just want to say that I think this is going to be a great recipe. I think it would be fun for me to make with my niece and nephew. Also I want to say I know that you know me now because I’m always on your lives and stuff, but I just wanna say ever since you found out about me being blind you’ve described everything a lot different not that you did it for but I just want you to know that I notice how much more you’re being descriptive and I just wanna thank you for that because I’m sure that it is very hard for you to think about that while still doing all your recipes. Hope you have a wonderful day and I cannot wait to talk to you at the next Live, thank you for all you do you’re amazing

    Try omitting some of the starch and sub in some rice flour. Serves the same function and will increase the crispiness.

    • @TheSaltedPepper
      @TheSaltedPepper  18 дней назад +1

      I thought about that, but figured more people had cornstarch on hand than rice flour. I will definitely try it with some rice flour though!

    Hi Louise, I love this recipe. Do you think this method would work for Latkas, potato pancakes or Hash browns? I have to grate onion for my crab ball and I use cheesecloth for that and when I use already prepared horseradish when I don't grate it myself. I am able to squeeze out all the juice without losing any of the product. You and Jeff have a great week. ❤

    Well now..I`ve always wondered if it was possible to make them from scratch! They look awesome! I am definitely gonna try them ! I have a question..do ya think you could shred the potatoes first & maybe partially steam cook them? Just thinking out loud lol Thanks for sharing your recipe!

    • @TheSaltedPepper
      @TheSaltedPepper  8 месяцев назад +1

      I wouldn't do that because they will absorb too much moisture. Parcook them whole. I do hope you try them!

      THANKS

    Russet potatoes arent readily available in NZ supermarkets so I'm going to have to find a suitable substitute.

    do you prefer this new air fryer versus the orginal? i'm thinking I need to upgrade to this, to lose the extra lid

    • @TheSaltedPepper
      @TheSaltedPepper  8 месяцев назад +1

      It's not that I prefer one over the other, but I do like the convenience of the one lid.

      Potato starch. Looks the same. Also good for thickening sauces without making it cloudy.

    I love tater tots too but if I could make them homemade without all of the junk that are in store bought ones even better. I’m with your husband. Loaded tater tots would be better. I would feel good serving your recipe to my grandkids

    I look forward to trying these. I'm kind of surprised that you don't have to squeeze and blot the water out of the grated taters beore forming. I trust your recipes so Im going to go for this recipe soon. Thank you!

    • @TheSaltedPepper
      @TheSaltedPepper  8 месяцев назад +2

      The little bit of moisture in the potatoes binds with the cornstarch. You just don't want to add in much more and the onions have a ton! I hope you love them!
