Listening to Bowie from the early 70's fills me with such melancholy - now that he is gone. He was so pivotal to my teen years growing up. So great to meet him in 1972 - the day prior to his Santa Monica Civic show.
I'm grateful that I had the opportunity to see him so many times- I was married to a professional musician for a number of years. My early concerts were July 13 1974 for his Diamond Dogs Release in Upper Darby, PA was truly memorable. Then '83, '87,'89, '91, '97- another huge show at MSG for Bowie's birthday & '03, '04, & the last show I went to was Radio City 9/2005. He was a phenomenal musician/artist/performer/human being.
Wow! Thank you to Ken Scott for mixing this incredible version of Starman. Millions of Bowie fans will treasure this for years to come. Miss you David. Love you. ❤
I've heard alot of music over 58 yrs & Bowie will always be my all time fave. David will live forever. Many artists from many genres have used Bowie's inspiration & sound. I love his older stuff the most tho I'm happy to listen to anything he produced. Awesome version of this track.
Not only was he a great artist. I was lucky enough to actually meet and chat for a few minutes after his concert in my city. We crossed paths in my local airport when I was dropping off someone, and he and crew were leaving town. He actually spoke to me and asked how I liked the show. What I liked. If I had a good time. There is a reason he was the thin white Duke. Class kindness and a marvelous sense of humor. Let the children boogie 😅
I'm always amazed by your voice, even when you were young, you had a presence, like your own little gravity well, sucking us all in. This pull got bigger as you grew older, and seeing you live, it was palpable, really amazing, and I don't know if I ever felt it that much from another artist. But as I meant to say in the beginning, even when you were still a kid, and hadn't quite gotten as polished, you still beamed out charisma like a star. shine on, David, I'll be here waiting.

LONG LIVE 2 STARMAN!
On the side of a high rise building Going into the Holland Tunnel on the Jersey side is a high rise building that has a huge painting of David Bowie with the lightening across his face. Most iconic picture EVer! Bowie looks so great way up there with orange hair!
I grew up in JC, was thrilled to see this. However, the greedy developers put another high rise directly next, so you can't see it from the approach anymore. Sucks.

Bang on
Mick Ronson's playing in this is a stupendous lesson in serving the song, not serving himself.
As Ronson always did.... Even on Michael Chapman's LP he played on, it was also the same. Ronno was the consumate musician.
