Yannick Nézet Séguin is a French Canadian conductor who has just been made musical director of the NYC Metropolitan Opera. This segment illustrates how big of a star in the music world Yannick is to have Céline sing for him and, as it is often done on this show, loved ones ( less gifted in the vocal department or unsure of performing alone) join in to add a surprise to the surprise. Yannick and Pierre have been partners for 23yrs... so for Yannick to have his partner sing with (arguably) the biggest star Quebec as ever produced would have been very impactful and meaningful....
I miss her singing this song. I miss her singing Brel. I miss her singing in French. The Vegas show only has one brief tune in French which is a disgrace. Also, super excited about Yannick taking over The Met!
