I enjoy you two together very much! Brands Hatch GP is a legendary circuit, the big single seaters have outgrown it for sure but Touring Cars, Sports Cars, GTs are a great fit for it. Curse the housing development, any housing development, that builds next to an existing track and then strangles it with noise regs. I sympathize with people wanting quiet in their lives but when the track is there first you know what you're getting into!
Another polished video from Carfection. Nice! Props to the sketch artist, that history lesson was fun. “before you get on the anchors”, the British have the best expressions. Great channel.
Really enjoy the easgoing - but learned - conversations you guys have together. Love Brands too, had the pleasure of a Track Day hosted by Lotus many years ago, awesome circuit.
Never heard of this 'till now. Y'all have stunned me with how high-quality this vid is on the narration and presenting side. Off to binge the last three episodes, I guess! Oh, and maybe give Motorland Aragon a call (if you haven't already)!
Excellent video and the comments that promote the brand and counter all those naysayers whom will never have enough to cash to buy a McLaren a welcome change 👍🏻
“2.433 miles, elevation change 30 meters” Not sure which system of measurement we wanna go with, I guess? Regardless, what an awesome video! Always love the looks and sounds of a McLaren! Much love from Texas.
Us UK people use all metrics, metres and feet and inches, we even do it with weights kg and pounds and ounces, and temperature if it's a hot day it's 90F, if it's cold it's -2C Whichever sounds the best is what we use, six foot tall sounds better than not quite two metres and -2C sounds colder than 34F 200lb sounds better than not quite one hundred kilo Word games, we like them
Would love to see more of track mode - two great racers/presenters with the added bonus of the carfection attention to detail showing the history of the circuits.. more of this series please.. For the British circuits how about Thruxton, Croft, Castle Combe.. just over the channel there's Zandvoort.. Please do more of these...
Thank you and please do more episodes of this series. Love the combination of racing cars and track history. Maybe one thing to improve would be more focus on the sound of the cars and longer racing takes to see how the car behaves on the track.
Another epic machine from McLaren. The perception though from people is real. The 12C was a little safe on launch, styling and handling thrills wise coupled with a fax machine name. The styling then got nailed, but as the customer base grew the service network has not kept up at all. This is a fact and still the struggles go on today for owners. Add in to all of this Mclaren’s constant release of special editions and new models they have managed to dilute their brand well enough all by themselves. I feel though they are back on the right path now hopefully 👍🏼
This was absolutely fantastic. It is incredible to be fortunate enough to sim racing to on this track and it is awesome to learn how it came to be. Thank you!
McLaren don't make a single car that I consider to be beautiful BUT they clearly make VERY competent cars and I'll withhold my judgement on their character until the day I have the honour of driving one!
The problem with Mclaren is that I can't afford one. Let me explain. My definition of aspirational brand is a brand that an average working class person can have a realistic *aspiration* toward buying and using as intended. As it stands, Mclaren = millionaire, NOT aspirational.
@@TheSoundzUK Dude, if you can drop 95k in cash for a high maintenance depreciating asset, instead of investing it, and have no worries about it, by definition that makes you rich.
Carfection are really in their stride with the production of this series now. Abbie is also sounding much more natural and relaxed too, which is great to see. I like that this series has a style of its own compared to Henry's content. It makes both types of content even stronger because of their uncompromised identities. Compare that to Donut Media, where everything is the same style, same script, same humor, same product placement just a different topic/premise. You've come a long way since X Car!
Enjoyable watch. Not sure why the MX5 got verbals for leaving the pits, he was over right and to be honest it happens all the time there, due to the nature of the circuit, ie exit going into a right hand bend. Also you turned into Druids too early .... :p Having said that all your laps would have been a lot faster than mine ... :)
The bleep makes it sound worse than it is 😅 I only said " f***** hell" He did absolutely nothing wrong. Just happened to come out when I was loaded, hence the "came out at the wrong time!" comment in jest. Respectfully disagree about druids 😁✌️ Glad you enjoyed this episode. Keep'er lit out there.
Extra grip offer from the slicks fixes what's wrong with this on track, the road tyres are too narrow to offer decent front grip for track use, same thing for Senna. Just odd McLaren use such narrow front tyres to offer a safer handling balance when people who buy these things do have the skills to extract performance from these
True, they lack wide tires and supposedly its for the sake of aerodynamics but even that doesn’t seem to work. Maybe Mclaren likes making their cars playful but thats not what these track cars are for.
I had to switch off half way through. Really dull commentary / presentation for what looks like an exciting car. The usual car festoon presenters are far more interesting.
It doesn't help that 2 Senna's caught on fire , even if the vast majority of their cars are more than good , they are to small to just move on and forget .
Any credibility for the bloke in the glasses dropped like a brick when he put that cap on. That’s not a good look for a professional - maybe a Yoof, but certainly not for someone on a role getting paid. I’ll reference Pierre Gasly with his back to front baseball cap - that look is taking a second a lap off his times. And driving sponsors away in their droves! And lastly “black flagged for noise” at the end of the video - it truly sums it all up…
I know they gave you a free brand new car for the day but if they are that good put your money where your mouth is, Buy a used one and try do this and see how much it cost and if its still working see how much the cars worth after
Amazing track car....when they're not in the shop. There is no BS about McLaren's shitty build quality. As a former owner of a 570s, it was a piece of shit when it comes to build quality.
13:00 oh there is plenty about McLaren to make an owner unsure about buying a car. This time last year they were laying off people, they said because of COVID, but then they went and got a loan. 675LT is a great car. But is the Spyder better or worse? Do they still build that? They have like 6 Sports series cars (7 if we count the Artura), and nobody but anoraks know what's the difference. I dare you to park a P1 in front of a pub and ask people about the price. You will hear everything from 200 to 600 thousand, but never a million, because it looks like the 650S. MCL have very poor support for cars that are out of warranty, this is documented on many many websites. I have been around a track in a 620R and a Porsche GT2. I'm taking the GT2 every time.
1. 650S looks like P1, not the other way. 2. 675LT Spider finished its production run back in ~2016. 3. Do your research next time. (Artura replaces 570S range)
This team is still not at Carfection level. Not sure why guy/girl combo needed. No chemistry. Young lady ok but when covering facts it sounds like she is reading preflight safety sheet. Carfection is more of a story teller style. Still too much camera image flipping. Dizzy.
.I love cars too (I have a 2017 Corvette C7 with the fun manual transmission) but it ain't free and stocks are one way to make money. .....,,AMAZON: Yep, I bought a ton on the dip. It’s not the poor build quality stories that put me off of new McLarens most. It’s the poor branding. It’s a lineup of supercars that are all named in all of the possible combinations of the numbers 5, 6 and 7. It’s a super car named Artura, which took me a minute to remember and I’m not sure I got it right. It sounds like a middle of the range Toyota saloon. It’s sticking the most legendary F1 driver’s name on a very fast car that isn’t special enough to carry that name. A name that ought to be saved for THE most iconic car of it’s era at least. Something like the McLaren F1. It’s the amount of supposedly special edition limited run hypercars that they put on sale within the few last years, rendering each of them a lot less iconic or special. There is no theatre because, there is no artistic depth and passionate story that the design and theme relay. No matter how fast a modern McLaren is, they are not putting enough into establishing the identity and connection that people find with Porsche, Ferrari and Lamborghini.
Sorry don’t agree, McLaren has a rich history going back decades , having owned 2 and currently running a 600LT. Surely it’s all about how the car drives feels performs , if u after a pure drivers car , the McLaren ticks all the boxes. Steering, brake feel, how the car deploys the power onto the road and track. Although the 620R is faster the 600LT is 8/10ths , and half the price. Both my cars have been great, not everyone is having issues, like all these types of cars they come with a warranty 👍.
Love the format of learning about the world’s racetracks while ripping off lap times and racer commentary 🏁🏴☠️💪

The guide Abbie gave for the track was SO SPOT On in terms of explanation and calmness. Feels like I could drive it just like that 👍

Very well done video 🔥
Beautiful, amazing and Savage car ..

Probably because of the low energy, lack of info and stats, and just seeming like a documentary about a random circuit for five minutes.
