These guys do amazing amazing work. Discovered you videos a few days ago and can't stop watching! It is strange to see people working in bare feet, as an American.
Beautiful... I did like the color before the finish stain darkened it and lost most of that really pretty grain. For me, after the cleaning wash, a clear finish would be perfect to show this wonderfull wood. With this very dark finish, the wood does not matter. It could be a less valuable wood with the artificial looking finish. I was a buyer of wood furnishings for the American market all over Asia. The finish is proper for most Asia markets but not for Western exports. Great job building this. Fantastic carving and joining the top. Great skill. Thank you for this skilled video.

Just my own opinion. I would finished it with enhanced neutral color, I want to see the natural beauty/grain of the wood. It’s still a beautiful piece anyway but doesn’t looked like wood anymore. Wonderful job 👍👍👍.
They do this on every project. I have been thinking about this, and first I thought, this might be a cultural thing, that we just don't get. But maybe the explainiation ist pretty simple: The wood they are using is to us amazingly beautiful and rare becaus it does not grow in our areas. But to them it is just the kind of wood that grows in the forest nearby. And to make the piece special, to prevent it to look just like cut from the forest and flung together they apply lacquer. Just a thought.
This table may as well have just been made from a cheap sustainable hard wood if it was going to be covered is that nasty Brown, what a shame, was beautiful.

Great Job, good skills on Ebony, just a little detail, on My humble opinion I luv the natural beauty of the Ebony, because of that dramatic look and the great job by these guys, I rather would let the Ebony to speak for himself ( maybe just a add a little shading ), the designer or client doesn't had the Idea of the natural character of the materials, Again Its an amazing Job and congrats to the Wood workers I wish I have them handy cause I'm an Architect with almost 20 yrs on the Architectural Millwork trade and We required of these kind of manufacturers...
Wealthy traditional Asians who can afford to buy this style and have homes large enough to accommodate it, do not do "Rustic". brilliant craftmanship but personally i would rather it just covered in teak or boiled linseed oil so you can see the lovely pattern of the wood
