It will be very useful if you will prepare some illustrations to be shown during the Nigel's speech, instead of gestures (often below the frame of video showing something on your table) especially on such a difficult to understand and messy topic like this.
Hi guys - love your posts thanks and by the way Nigel your book has been my bible for multiple editions - fantastic go to resource even though I was an auto sparky then an aircraft electrical engineer for my career - this book is essential in my opinion for anyone spending a lot of time maintaining their own boat - which in itself is essential as finding anyone else with knowledge of now complex systems is really just about out of the question. The book allows anyone to develop their knowledge of their boat anyway. I wonder whether in the above situation we should use those ?? chemical fuses?? Littelfuse??, soldered in since there is little chance that it will really be called into play with a new installation and you want to keep resistance as low as possible. A fuse block is OK while new but I can imagine it being high resistance rather quickly. I am really just interested to know what you think of these things as I bought some to upgrade my old fuse panel but as yet have not installed them. (Liveaboard situation - canal boat - France). So, if I understand correctly, no fuse between panel and controller. There is a fuse between bus bar and battery, and you should also put fuses between each controller and the bus bar.
