    I'm only a minute in and I"m already impressed, I've seen so many craft or crochet videos that would just be like "so what you need is thread and a crochet hook and beads" and they don't say anything beyond that for the necessary materials.

      Yes, I was annoyed with the patterns too, then I started doing it and found I was missing a lot of different things.

    Dear Danysska, thank you for your tutorial, it is the best I have ever seen about bead crochet balls. ❤
    I tried your tips, but unfortunatelly when I work on a complex, geometrical pattern and reach the straight part or a few rows later there's a shift. What can be the problem? Is there a "rule" to correct the pattern as you show in the last part of your video? Thank you very much for your help!

    • @Danysska
      @Danysska  Год назад +1

      Hi, thank you! If the pattern is overlapping on the right and left side, you need to use a turning chain at the end of each row. Then you won't have a shift. I plan to make some videos about it.

    Just found me new obsession!!! This is amazing! I have 2 questions!
    1. I have found various patterns like the picture you have but without the written line by line of what you do. Is that needed? Is it always when increasing do one bead in 1 loop then 2 in one loop at the end. And to decrease always skip first loop then 1 bead in each loop (repeat 6 times).
    2. If we read the pattern when making the ball from top to bottom, left to right- does that mean I string from bottom to top, right to left? So the thread is still attached to the ball of thread itself?
    Thanks

    • @Danysska
      @Danysska  Год назад

      Ok, so I've gotten around to replying to comments :D I'll just add to what I already wrote - it's valid if the pattern has the same dimensions as mine. If it has a different number of center rows, for example, you have to adjust for that. But the principle is always the same.

    • @Danysska

      There may be more than one reason. Sometimes you just need to tighten the turning chain a little more. Or it could be too thick a thread or a big hook.

    I'm using .54mm thread, like you suggest, with 11/0 sead beads. I can't get the .5mm hook to work, have better luck with .75mm. But I am still having problems. It feels like the thread is too slick and there's not much friction for the needle to work with. I tried coating in beeswax, but that doesn't help much.
    Any suggestions on what i could try? Is your thread mercerized?

    • @Danysska
      @Danysska  Год назад +1

      Hi, finding the right thread for bead crochet can be quite a challenge. I have tried many threads myself and not all of them work well. It's a good idea to avoid threads that are shiny and slippery because they are hard to work with. I like to work with two threads (which I also offer on my Etsy shop) - one is YarnArt Canarias, which is mercerized but not so slippery. And the other is a thread that is primarily for sewing heavy garments like jeans, and it's not mercerized. It doesn't slip at all, it's not shiny. Both are about 0.5mm in diameter and suitable for 11/0 beads.

    • @adaml515
      @adaml515 Год назад

      @@Danysska thank you ! I've ordered some thread that should be non-slippery. I may still be at an issue with crocheting with such small thread and hook (I can do it with normal yarn), and have to find a way to do this with peyote stitch instead.

    • @Danysska
      @Danysska  2 года назад

      Hey, it's kind of problematic with the balls. You can't tell just by the number of beads. You can also change the number of tips and the number of rows without increasing or decreasing.... Sometimes it takes a few tries to adjust to the right pattern.

  • @kaminenee
    @kaminenee 2 года назад

    Hi! Thank you so much for this tutorial and pattern!
    I tried and mine turned out so pointy at the beginning (and so my ball look half round/half pointy OTL) maybe I'm crocheting too tight...
    I was wondering how to make them more round and also how to avoid having too much "holes" during the decrease. Do you have any advice?

    • @Danysska
      @Danysska  2 года назад +1

      Hey, this is exactly what happens when you tighten up too much. Try crocheting a little looser. That way one side won't be pointy and you won't get gaps on the other side.

    I learned how to do the normal crochet, but I’m having a hard time understanding what you talk about with the end stitch that you do before you go on to the next row and how to do that one. Do you mind if you do a short tutorial about that stitch? If you haven’t already.

    • @Danysska
      @Danysska  2 года назад

      Hi, I haven't made a separate video about it yet, but I definitely plan to. The thing is, it's not a classic spiral crochet, but you need to close each row. So I just join the loop of the last and first bead of each row, this closes the row and with a simple chain stitch I move up a row.

      Hey, there's no need. I just didn't want to explain it in this video, it's long enough as it is. You can, of course, string in sections. You just need to divide the pattern into segments (like each page of the pattern) and string the segments from the last one to the first one. I explain this in detail in this video ruclips.net/video/2RH2A11LbtY/видео.html

    Hello Daniela, I am learning bead crochet thanks to your tutorials and I actually made my first rope! I used only one color and 10 beads circumference, but now Im trying to make something with a simple pattern (diagonal stipes) of 3 colors and a circumference of 7 beads using slip stitch and I always get so lost at the beggining that I give up. Once the initial crochet ring is done, I have trouble seeing what is up and what is down, what the next bead is, etc. It's very confusing! Could you show in a video how you do the firsts rows when making a very thin bracelet with very thin cord (mine is 0,3mm)? I think once the first 5 or 6 rows are done it will be easier to continue but I never get to that point. Also, I would like to see how would you correct a mistake if you realize in the middle of your work that you initially threaded a bead of the wrong color. Im guessing you dont undo the whole bracelet that you have already bead crocheted..?

    • @Danysska
      @Danysska  3 года назад +1

      Hi, I've been planning to make the videos you mention for a while now. But in the meantime, if I were you, I'd try it with bigger beads and thicker thread. If you're using 0.3mm thread, that's really thin and hard to work with. Even I have a hard time working with thread that thin. For example, when I'm sewing with very small 15/0 size beads, I use 0.5mm thread.That way it's completely fine and you can't see between the beads. The most common mistake with slip stitch is not moving the bead to the right. I point this out in my videos. You have to insert the hook into the loop, move the existing bead to the right and then yarn over and pull through the loops. If you skip moving the bead to the right, then you get a mess and can't get to the third row without it looking ugly. As for the pattern error, I solve that by normally crocheting with the mistake, crocheting a few rows. Then I put the needle in the wrong bead and crunch it with pliers. And with a normal needle and thread I sew a new correct bead.

    • @adrianamiquilena8790
      @adrianamiquilena8790 3 года назад

      @@Danysska thanks for replying! yes, I move the bead to the right, I learned that with your videos, but for some reason I keep getting confused. Maybe you are right about the thread, I will have to try with a thicker one, and maybe bigger beads too while I gain more experience. When I made the single color rope it didnt matter because they were all white, but with 3 colors any mistake is visible. Interesting what you mentioned about how to correct the mistakes if you threaded a wrong bead, I wonder if by crushing the bead it doesnt leave a hole. I'll be looking forward to your new videos! :)

      For some patterns I do the turning chain and for some I don't. I will explain it in detail in some future video, it's hard to explain if I can't show it. If the pattern has to continue on both the right and left side to join, I use a turning chain. But it definitely shouldn't be obvious at a glance if it's there or not, in the sense of being visible or anything... that's probably a problem somewhere else.

    Použila jsem klasické korálky 10/0 od Preciosy. Zkoušela jsi to někdy s nima a vypadalo to hezky pravidelně? Jsou ty Toho o tolik tvarově kvalitnější, aby to nevypadalo tak škaredě? Anebo prostě pořád jen moc utahuji, i když už se hodně snažím tolik neutahovat...

      Ahoj :) To asi nebude korálky, ale nějaká chyba bude v technice. S Preciosou to taky vypadá hezky, i když teda Preciosa má více jakostí, ale i když se použije ta horší, tak to určitě neudělá to, co popisuješ. Řekla bych, že je první jakost Preciosy na stejné úrovni jako japonské TOHO, v testech konzistence Preciosa vyšla dokonce i lépe.
      Takhle naslepo se dost špatně radí, ideální je to samozřejmě vidět, to bych hnedka řekla, co je špatně.. případně alespoň z fotky se dá taky něco usuzovat. Ale podle toho popisu si myslím, že pokud dáváš háček tak jak má být (do očka ke korálku pod dvě nitky), tak problém by mohl být ještě v nepravidelném utahování, to pak ty korálky mohou vyskakovat nebo jsou nakřivo.
      Jakou velikost nitě a háčku máš? Na korálky 10/0 bych použila háček 0,5 - 0,7mm a nit tak 30 až 50, spíše 50.
