This so great, man! Great respect how you put the fabulous guitar in the mix. You would be tempted to put such great licks and rhythm more in the front, but this tasty. And that btw comes from a first time Metallica fan 😂
Great idea and great playing, but if there were few little glimpses of either the riff or the melody from the original would have made more sense. Otherwise it just might as well be a whole different/ new song. A fan always 🤘🤘🤘
You want him to hire a session musician to learn that song, record it, send it to him so he can mix it down. And pay for all that so he can put out one video on RUclips? We could be saying the same thing about using midi and samples for drums.
This is where I’m at a bit of a crossroads with AI man. Personally, I really don’t like the idea that AI is going to be a massive part of music in the coming years but at the same time, there’s no way we can stop it. I came across the version (linked in the description) over the Christmas holidays and quite frankly, it slaps haha! It inspired me to recreate it from scratch and put my own spin on it. I just think we have to find ways in which we as musicians can stay relevant. My intent is not to replace musicianship with AI. This version I’ve made here is entirely organic in the guitar playing, programming (if that counts), arrangement and improvisation - elements that AI cannot replicate yet. The only AI generated thing you hear here is the vocal track the guy originally prompted. Using AI as a tool to reinterpret ideas should be about adapting to new technologies, not undermining musicians. The focus should be on how we can evolve our craft to remain relevant in a changing landscape. Being actually able to play, improvise and perform live is going to be integral in the future. I’m personally hoping that AI can’t improvise or play live in the future. If it can, I’d like to think that I’ll have put in enough work over the years for people to prefer the human playing rather than the AI! 😅
Even if Ai takes over, nobody is Mr. Jack G. I’ll listen to his playing regardless because he is pleasant to listen to. Keep making videos Jack! We will be doomed if not.
I replied to another comment saying a similar thing. I’m split into two mindsets about it man. Personally I despise the idea of AI taking over, but there’s no stopping it and we as musicians have to find a way to adapt to the landscape moving forward. The only thing you hear here that is AI generated is the vocal track - the rest I’ve played, programmed, arranged and improvised over. The reply to the other comment is more in depth if you want my thoughts on it! 🙏
Thanks man! 🙏 Just in case anyone is wondering - the only AI thing people can hear in the backing track is the vocal track that was prompted by the guy making the yacht rock version (linked in the description) 😅 The rest of the backing track I’ve programmed, played, arranged and improvised over.
Sounding good as always, great player! But comon man, if you wanna make a funk track from this classic at least use some elements from the original riffs. This sounds like some kind of shitty robotic vocals with a random backing track.
Yeah, we definitely need a full version man.
So many incredible guitarists out there, but you Jack are clearly in my top 3, unmatched feeling. All the best
Dirty Loops vibes go crazy brother!
Absolute insanity with your playing all the time even when you're not soloing and I respect it whole heartedly
Thanks Jordan! 🙏💙 Too kind!
Enter Funkman

Buuuuuut, I dont hear Enter Sandman.
Beautiful! Could you tell me please the model of your Ibanez?
The juxtaposition of lyrics and style, needs to be a new genre. Meshuggah next.

Great harmony in there, I can’t wait to transcribe it! How do you get the glassy strat tone?Beautiful!
Thanks man! I’m using Neural DSP Archetype Cory Wong’s DI console/amp on this one, with the compressor on in front! Position 4 on the guitar!
@ awesome, thank you for the reply Jack! You’re a legend!
Easy there, Guthrie Govan!

Haha sick

Blasphemer 🎸😈
Great idea and great playing, but if there were few little glimpses of either the riff or the melody from the original would have made more sense. Otherwise it just might as well be a whole different/ new song. A fan always 🤘🤘🤘
Guitar is amazing as always, the vocals not so much....
Turn the guitar up in the mix - awesome playing as always
Disappointed to see the use of music AI. No solidarity for fellow musicians? Come on man, do better.

My brother you are amazing!!! Keep doing your thing!! 🤘🏾
I wish you have a touching your mind by Jack's playing.
HEARD THE AI AS SOON AS THOSE SHIT MUFFLED ARTIFACTY VOCALS CAME IN. YUCK.
On the one hand, your playing was amazing, but on the other I despise AI generated music so much. As musicians we shouldn't be promoting those tools.
Oh hush
Ok

People stop complaining about the AI backing track. It's the Guitaring were interested in. ffs

It's nice funk playing, but I barely recognize the chord progression and song structure.
Pretty much all I recognized were the lyrics.

Love it, but to be fair it bears no resemblance to enter Sandman other than the lyrics.
Please, just stop
Yatch Funk!!🎉😂
wow
