A fun episode, I really liked that Doggett skepticism saved the day. I like Leyla, though hearing her talking about how the X-Files are in good hands etc. can't help but making me think about how sort of half-hearted the whole "passing the torch" aspect of the season feels. Season 8 ended with a passing the torch moment, but Scully is still around. Now I love her and Gillian Anderson but having Scully in a supporting role in the monster of the week episodes but taking all the dramatic space in the mythology episodes while having every other character constantly bring up Mulder undermines Doggett and Reyes' positions as the new series lead. It makes the showrunners look indecisive. In hindsight, I think Scully and William should have gone underground with Mulder at the beginning of the season so that the writers would have to commit to giving the new duo major storylines. As of now Doggett has his son which is treated as more secondary that Samantha ever was for Mulder and Reyes has nothing. All the air in the room is taken by Scully being a mom and afraid for her baby who's this super duper messianic or anti-christ prophecy baby (just shoot me). It would also clearly delineate the Mulder and Scully era of the show and the Doggett and Reyes era. Season 8 had Mulder and Scully in a nice emotional space at its conclusion that was completely ruined by having season 9 start immediately after it and having Mulder leave. Anyway, love your reaction and very enthusiastic for the last 5 episodes of the season they all are quite eventful.

It's a silly episode but I enjoyed it. Doggett's attitude saves them all, and nice to see Leyla again.
