I used to be a part of an online community when the X-files was airing live called "The Order of of the Blessed Saint Scully the Enigmatic." I laughed so hard with those (mostly) ladies. I really like your genuine thoughts on the story and your reactions to the funny stuff (and the more intense Mulder and Scully scenes) are just so pure and beautiful. In the theatrical version, they cut the line about Samantha and Bill Mulder. They put it back for the VHS release. The man who plants the bomb, stalks Mulder in the alley, and ends up shooting Mulder, was also in the S5 finale. He's the one who kills Gibson's would-be assassin.

In the last episode we are introduced to the first element of the season 5/season 6 transition which is Gibson Praise. In the movie we are introduced to the second element which is these aliens that gestate inside of humans than explode out of the human when they are born. There is a connection between the two elements which we will find out in season 6 episode 1 the beginning. This is a good movie and one of the top movies of the 1990’s seconded by only by Pulp Fiction, The Big Lebowski, and GoodFellows!!! I was not able to go see it in the theaters at the time as I had two small children to take care of at the time!!!

They never planned to have them kiss in the movie. The kissing outtakes are just jokes with the actors having a laugh.

There was no reboot, it was the same X-Files besides the different locations.
