I bought a $64 projector on Amazon hooked it up to my $100 Roku and we watch Amazon prime video on the wall in our bedroom from bed! We are in the middle of watching Little House on the prairie all seasons
I found this video of yours the second time and wanted to let you know that I bought your multicolored travel light as a Christmas gift for my brother last year. He really likes it and it's a perfect size and really adds a little accent to his entryway table in his apartment! It really makes a nice gift for someone.
That’s a nice tv system. I have a 65 inch tv and a great Denon stereo. I worked for cable tv up here for many years and I am used to watching television 👍👍✌️
You two are great. I enjoy the honesty you project. I'm retiring next month and seeking all the advice I can find. You have helped me with some worries I face. Keep up the excellent work.
I would definitely not want to live near you with that big screen and big subwoofer! 😂 I like all of your ideas although I don't travel at all anymore. The little lamp that you bought looks really really nice so I may have to use my Amazon Prime and order one❤ last thought is that I got an Amazon Prime Visa card that gives 5% back for all Amazon purchases and one to 2% for everything else. I have already gotten back about $20 in the last couple of months because I try to put everything I can on that card and pay it off every month. Also my first prime purchase with that I got a $125 coupon off of what I was buying, so I've been totally thrilled with my new Prime Visa!
y'all make sure and go to the Florabama. Its an indoor/outdoor bar on the Alabama/Florida border. Lots of live music, right on the beach. And order a Bushwacker to drink! YUM
We moved within driving distance of Las Vegas, and go to a casino in the suburbs. They are more country people, like us, the prices are not Vegas prices, free meals, and unlike Vegas they have good payouts. (One of) our new fun spots.

Very interesting discussion again. I have a Prime. It is great. I also love my air fryer. Would a VPN give me access to BBC iplayer in Europe I wonder?

Awesome, we are thinking of taking it to our trailer for outdoor movies, we bought a roll up screen that we can hang from tree branches…fun times in retirement lol.

What a great topic for discussion! We had a think back on all of things we’ve purchased to add value to our 16 years of retirement. Now, that was quite a list for us!! Some things have come and gone but always added value or comfort to our lives. My favorite thing is my 2 person sauna I have in our garage. Hubby’s favorite thing is the stacked stone wall and cabinetry we added to our great room. The cabinetry has a lift for our 65” tv so it is hidden away when not in use.
Hi. I love the projector. So much better and cheaper than a big TV. We had a lot of fun coming up with different set-up. With grandkids that have fun ideas. First we used a sheet, which worked sort of, then we painted a wall white, lol, finally when we needed a new one, we got one with a screen that works perfectly. The kids also set it up so you can lay down and watch on the ceiling. Your advice is useful and appreciated. Also, always great to watch you two together, you're simply great people. Keep having fun and making videos.
Can you make a video on taxes? You have said you live mostly on dividends but how are those taxed? If we sell, and lease a home, invest in dividend paying stock, how do we determine what we will pay? Given other income streams...
We live on our pensions CPP, OAS and British old age pension and can survive day to day on them. The dividend income is reinvested either in more stock or cash deposits adding to our capital. Dividends are taxed differently in Canada but most of our dividends are in RRSP and TFSA, the brokerage company sends out tax forms each year that you apply to your tax return.
Thanks for the video guys! Wish Amazon prime was that cheap here in the U.S.. I believe it's about 129 USD now. By my calculation, you're getting it for half of what we pay. Go figure! Take care!
We can’t figure out David what’s going on with prices in the U.S. Canadian prices are cheaper on a lot of things without taking into account the exchange rates, this is a first!
Hi Vyvien, Fire Stick a way of making a dumb T.V. smart 😂😂 We also like buying gifts on Amazon and having them shipped direct to our relatives. Thanks for your kind comment. ❤️
I love how tech savvy you guys are. I don't think most retirees understand how important it is to stay up on the latest technology, which can make life so much simpler and more enjoyable. The big downside to modern tech is that it's all cloud connected, which I don't like very much because I like my privacy and the cloud is all about collecting ans selling your personal data. That said, you can avoid sharing much of your data if you configure your settings properly.
Thanks for your suggestions. I just ordered three of the items that I thought would be especiall y helpful . Several others I had already. This was another great presentation.
@@ThisIsOurRetirement Thanks. Both of the benefits you mentioned are so great - I go to my cabin in BC and my place in Croatia every year, and this is the best 50 dollars I ever spent. I'm sort of glad that driving from Portland to Seattle for an interview was a hassle, because otherwise more people would be in the Nexus lane and the Global Entry area ! I notice, for example, that the TSA Precheck line, although still good, is starting to be less convenient and more hassle than it used to be, at some airports. Thanks for your videos.
Im going to get a home defender shot gun its short easy to carry. I also have a pistol that fires pepper balls 50 calibre its air defense weapon so legal to carry. I dont have a trailer in Canada yet but your park looks nice but far away. all the best be safe and buy a shot gun

Awesome video Tina and Norm :) We are LOOKING forward to our retirement (well my husband at the end of the year). Excellent ideas!!!!!!!!!! Your fan Mary from Toronto, ON CANADA
For Brits like you guys you might want to consider Britbox for streaming. My wife is English which was our initial impetus for getting it but there are lots of quality UK programs you can stream, Line of Duty and Shetland come to mind. Based on their best TV shows there seems to be a lot of crime in the UK 😆 (not true of course). Like you we use a FireTV stick and VPN when we are out of country for the winter, Mexico for us. I am with you on the Nexus cards. I would say if you travel once a year you could probably get by without it but any more than that it's worth having.
I had Britbox but canceled when the gift subscription ran out. So many episodes of Midsomer etc are missing because they sold the rights to another streaming service. Likewise with Vera and so many others. You can get more recent shows free on RUclips! And to add insult I had to fight them when they charged my credit card despite having cancelled. I’m thinking of trying Acorn.
@@qwincyq6412 we haven't had any issues with Britbox and got all 11 seasons of Vera (among many others). We are just finishing up Vera season 11 and season 12 is expected to hit Britbox in early 2023. Still, your experience was different. Maybe let us know how Acorn is if you try that.
We didn’t like the need for charging the Apple Watch. We do realize the Co2 and blood pressure are iffy but used regularly if you get a drastic change, that’s a great indication of a problem, health or your watch is breaking 😂😂
For retirement, I bought my RV for travel (hello California), a mobile to live in when not in my RV, two new cars (both EVs and paid cash). I've run into problems with my eyes so don't know how much longer I will be able to drive. Cheers, Steve
I suggest a large Lesportsac backpack or a Longchamp large shoulder nylon bags for travel. They are no more than 1lb each. Kipling nylon is light too, but not as light weight.

Investing in retirement is much different from investing for retirement. This is because you finally get to use those savings to live the life you’ve worked hard to achieve. The biggest mistake most people make when it comes to their retirement is they do not plan for it. Congratulations you made it to retirement-now what? Learn how to wisely withdraw and invest your retirement funds to make sure they provide the income you need, keep up with inflation, and last as long as you need them.

We are addicted to Masterpiece theatre programs which is an extra through Prime. Every show is great, which is not the case with Netflix, even Prime.
Hi Sherry we are using the VPN to change our location to access some shows not available to get blocking.
Thanks for sharing we are working on the Britbox have a great weekendCheers 🇲🇽 ☕️🇨🇦🇺🇸
Fantastic loved this content.. v 😎👍🏻
Thank you so much 🙂 have a great day Phil Cheers 🇨🇦☕️🇺🇸
@@ThisIsOurRetirement missed you guys.. keep up the good work 😉
Love your channel ❤
Thank you so much Marlene we really appreciate that! 💕❤️
I’ve found the watches CO2 reading to not be very accurate as I also have a monitor to compare it to. I have the Apple watch
We didn’t like the need for charging the Apple Watch. We do realize the Co2 and blood pressure are iffy but used regularly if you get a drastic change, that’s a great indication of a problem, health or your watch is breaking 😂😂
We just discovered Midsomer Murders and love our air fryer too! We use it all the time. Really love your channel. Wishing you safe and happy travels!
Thanks so much Leisa have a great weekend Cheers 🇨🇦☕️🇺🇸
$30 for 40G data per month phone card suits me fine , no computer online is best.
Thanks for sharing 🙂
Why did you sell your own house and rent
We had always planned to sell to help fund our retirement Angela Cheers 🍷 🇦🇺 🙂🇨🇦
For retirement, I bought my RV for travel (hello California), a mobile to live in when not in my RV, two new cars (both EVs and paid cash). I've run into problems with my eyes so don't know how much longer I will be able to drive. Cheers, Steve
Doesn’t it feel good Stephen 💰 paying cash for RVs and Cars 🚗 sorry to hear about your eyes hope you find a solution Cheers 🇨🇦☕️🇺🇸
I am interested too in your brand of lightweight luggage. I have googled some, but would be interesting in hearing what kind you got.
Lesportsac or Longchamp are very light weight.
It was IT luggage and we love them Kathryn Cheers 🇨🇦☕️🇺🇸
Thanks for the great suggestions :)
You're so welcome! have a great weekend Cheers 🇨🇦☕️🇺🇸
Can you show your light weight carry on bags?
Thanks for watching and the suggestion Joanna have a wonderful day Cheers 🇨🇦☕️🇺🇸
We just put a photo and link on our Community page Joanna 🌺
Welcome to Alabama and Roll Tide.
Thanks 🇺🇸🍻🇨🇦
I suggest a large Lesportsac backpack or a Longchamp large shoulder nylon bags for travel. They are no more than 1lb each. Kipling nylon is light too, but not as light weight.
Thanks for sharing SCT Cheers 🇨🇦☕️🇺🇸
Could you include/ provide us a link to your travel lamp?
We do have links in the video description, but here is the travel light we use geni.us/FVpM6k
Thank you!
Like to see the carry ons.
Google IT luggage
Thank you for always having such great advice. We love your videos and look forward to them each week. Could you share the information about the carry-on luggage that you have? Have a wonderful holiday in Alabama!
It’s called IT luggage we don’t have a link just Google it , we are having a great time thanks for watching we really appreciate your support guys Cheers 🇨🇦☕️🇺🇸
Great point Patrick
We so enjoy your Saturday morning chats🌸 Very interested in the lighter luggage, couldn't find the link for this.... Thanks for your videos!!!
You are so welcome! we bought IT luggage locally to us in Canada , we don’t have a link just Google it Stephanie Cheers 🇨🇦☕️🇺🇸
Love Midsommer Murders have watched every episode. Also love Endeavour, Inspector Morse, & Grantchester until the lead left. So enjoying your visit to Alabama. Are the Nexis cards similar to US Pre-Check?
