Girl, you are still very young and it's your dream, it's something that makes you feel alive. There's nothing crazy about it at all, listening to your heart seems pretty normal and logical to me. You can always comfortably slide back into a conventional kind of career and be like everybody else. It doesn't take any guts or character to live a "normal" life, you just have to become a conformist which our society, unfortunately, deems to be the best course of action.
Taking the opportunity to share... the beginning of this video resonated hard with me. I only found your channel recently, but I'm so glad I did. It seems we are on similar journeys. I have struggled with mental health issues and found it *really* hard to do the things I used to enjoy and be obsessed with. That's been the story of the last 5-7 years of my life. I'm working to limit my RUclips consumption (it's held me back and I'm tired of letting it rule my life) and I'm beginning to feel well enough to consistently exercise, get in a groove, and just enjoy life. Since I stopped running in high school (cross country and track), I have wanted to break a 5 minute mile, 11 minute 2 mile, and 18 minute 5K (I cam very close to all those at my peak). That's what I'm starting to focus on again. And going back to school to get a Master's degree. And reducing my consumption of RUclips dramatically. And living life. No better time than the present and, as you say, I am only getting older. I went for my first run today and for the first time in a long time it didn't feel like pulling teeth. It felt easy and freeing and like it used to make me feel. I can feel myself changing and it's so exciting! Thank you for sharing and creating this video, this piece of yourself, this raw and vulnerable and courageous piece of art that resonates, I think, with so many. Thank you!
love the video. personally, I jump from obsession to obsession and this is what I live for. so this message resonates with me. although my obsessions have changed from football (soccer) to competitive video games to bodybuilding back to competitive video games currently, so I don't really have 'one' obsession, I know I'll always at least be obsessed with something. I cannot live without an obsession. your videos are very aesthetically pleasing and I love the calm vibes. keep it up
Thank you! I think it's wonderful to be obsessed with something because it deeply speaks to you, rather than just wanting to be hooked on something (not implying that you are). I think we're lucky to find things that we're obsessed by early on in life, because it shows us the degree of which we can live life at. And how rich and fulfilling our experience can be. Which undoubtedly invites us to seek out new obsessions when we're ready ☀
