What a kind gesture to get Yanis to set up a BuyMeACoffee on your channel! He deserves the very best! And what a great leader in Billy to understand that he is developing Yanis to fly on his own one day!
@@paulaj7682he’s so sweet and looks like his dad. Archie looks very much like his grandad . But if you have noticed the photo at the chateau of Billy and Michael as toddlers , it’s just like seeing Ernest and Arcibald ❤
Three generations working on the renovation is incredible & memories to cherish! I think the Petherick's support their workers very well. You don't see any cries for help on the videos.😄
His help was immeasurable....LOL I really liked hearing him ask where Yanis was; putting Lela's bed in the room where everyone was working......Such a thoughtful little guy.
Since you started your vlog, my Grandson (who is almost the same age as your eldest son, and who looks like they could be cousins) would get so excited to see what 'baby Ernest' was up to that day. He was so happy today because Ernest was back!!
Ernest is so handsome (cute). He is a big help. I love how he took care of Layla, helped his dad and wa asking where is friend, Yanis, was! I am glad we got to see Ernest today. Dad did a great job with Ernest’s safety gear!
It was great finding out some more about Yanis. Thank you Yanis for being willing to share. I was also thinking let’s not forget about Rick too. He’s always willing to do anything that’s needed. Billy is fortunate to have such a great team and I’m sure they feel fortunate to be working on these amazing projects. 😊
It was very evident and emotional in Yanis's interview how much he misses his mum, family and country ... I knew he must be helping support them with all his hard work and drive. I would be so happy to buy him a coffee .. he really deserves all the help any of us can give him. Bless your heart Billy and family, and bless you Yanis.. you have made your mum so proud I am sure. P.s Leyla is such a sweetie-pea
That footage of young Ernest on site takes me back years. I'm 63 but when I was a boy my Dad used to work as a leading hand and later foreman on worksites building apartment blocks. He would bring me on site when I was on school holidays, probably to give Mum a break from me! The lads on site would set up a sand pit on the side of the site, I'd play in there but also wander around with Dad as work progressed through the day.
I like the footage of three generations. So nice to see Rick back, so will be sure never to miss Mondays and Wednesdays. You are very patient and and helpful, Billy, with your new apprentice!! You really are a kind and lovely person, Billy, to do the Buy Me a Coffee for Yanis. What you pay people is your own business, not anyone else's. Some people need to know where the lines are drawn. You are obviously a wonderful employer or so many people would not continue, or keep coming back, to work with you. Everyone works equally hard and you are all a fantastic team!! Including Mick, Alex and Layla!!!! You are doing a great job, Billy and Company!!
Yes, thank you from me too. You handled the questions well with just enough information but yet keeping your privacy. Thank you Billy for supporting Yannis as you do.❤
Billy, a couple of days ago you were wondering what the shallow bookcase section was used for, you thought possibly as a plate rack, no. It was once a faux bookcase front; it would have faux book spines carved of wood and covered with leather to look like the spine of a real book, rows of them to blend in with the adjoining bookcases. It would conceal a hidden cabinet or door behind, or to hide something else such as a chimney in the room.
Thank you for the Yanis interview. It gives an added dimension of understanding him, his energy, history and tattoos. Buy me a coffee is a great idea! Ernest is a very sweet boy, love the way he sighs and thinks before he answers. I did hear the higher pitched “words” after about the third replay. It definitely is there.
I can't believe how big Ernest has gotten, he did a great job helping you. 👍 Also pay attention to the way the dog acts, when wandering around upstairs, cause if there's a spirit the dog will see it. You guys are doing a great job 👍👍👍✌️
Rick, it’s great to see you back again, your cheery smiles have been missed! Earnest is such a sweet little boy and so eager to help his Dad. Yannis - loved your interview and with all your new found skills, life should be all uphill from now on. Roll on all those cups of coffee before cracking on too! 😅👏👍
Yanis it was loverly to watch your interview yesterday. You remind me of a man who was engaged to build a patio by our landlord 50 years ago. We lived in village near Grenoble. The man was also from Algeria. My son was two years old at the time and he trotted around all day with the workman picking up screws and such to fill his lockets. Every morning i would return the screws and bits and pieces to the man. It was during Ramadan and so hot but he was always cheerful and kind. I had forgotten all about it until i saw your interview. ❤
I really miss the music. But I love you all and I love the whole project. A cat on my lap, a dog at my feet, a hot coffee, and the Pethericks are the warm and kindest way to start the day. But I do miss the music. Love to you all.
Billy, may I suggest using some of the old joists to make commemorative ornaments to sell to help fund the restoration? I would imagine your subscribers would love to own a little piece of history from your convent. ❤
I agree. Or even purchasing having my name on a brick in the future pantry project and gave levels with different cost so those who cannot afford the big stuff can still be a part of history. Like a brick in the pantry, or a stone in the garden or garden wall, or "in honor of", "donated by" name plate in a place of prominence for those who want to donate bigger. Just some thoughts
As always, another beautiful video! It is so wonderful to see such genuine care between people who also have a wonderful work ethic. "The Pethericks" is a channel that will never disappoint! Thank you for such wonderful content and for sharing your part of the world with us! Take care and may the Lord bless you always!
The thought has actually never crossed my mind how much or if you pay your workers i feel you don't owe us any explanations about anything I watch because I love what your doing nothing else oh besides liking all you lot 😊
I read comments once in a while here and elsewhere and I’m surprised when folks say what should or shouldn’t be done on the projects we’re all following and enjoying. Also, how would anyone know what Yannis is paid-or anyone else on the payroll for that matter? I trust you all to be doing what is right and fair-you seem to be those kind of people. Watching your vision come to life is a privilege!
I love it when you say: ‘It will be absolutely amazing.’ You have so much enthusiasm for your vision and you are always right. It always does end up looking absolutely amazing! 🤗
Every day is such an adventure with something new & unexpected …and today we had the double whammy of Ernest & Layla in their new apprentice and offsider roles (and that was so adorable) as well as a lovely addition of Yanis buy me a coffee link ( wonderful idea Billy!) Kudos Alex…well picked up with the ‘voice’ 👍 I also could hear it, but to me it seemed to be more than just the three ‘syllables’ and sounded like either a childlike or feminine voice calling out or maybe even singing? To me it sounded joyful & happy which isn’t surprising with all the life you are all breathing back into the convent. I can’t wait to see if you capture some more intriguing soundbytes! 🤞
As if anyone would think Billy would short change Yannis. I would say he made his own luck & his life has immeasurably improved. He lives for free in a beautiful surrounding, been given the opportunity to learn all sorts of trades & a new language, treated like family & reciprocates with hard work and respect. Who wouldn’t want to work with The Pethricks!
How sweet to have 3 generations working on the convent. No doubt they will be working together on the chateau as well. Be sure to take 3 generation photos with your dad, you, Ernest. Then your mum, you, and Ernest. And the same with your youngest son. Beautiful family. It was wonderful seeing Rick again. I've missed his cheery smile & twinkling eyes.
This was so interesting. I can't wait to see if there are more voices or movement during the night. This library project is moving fast! Great job team Convent❤
Its Lovely to see grandson working with Granddad !!!!!!!!!!!! Ernest is the guy Mini Me !!!!Oh yeah !!!!!!!!! Wot A little Guy !!!!! English and French !!!!!!! Lets Do it !!!!!!!!!!
I think Yannis is very well looked after, a well paid apprenticeship (he's being trained on the job) a home, a brilliant boss and fantastic work mates.....anyone would give their eye teeth for all of that. You guys have set him up for life and being the sweetie that Yannis is he will probably be eternally grateful to you all.
Love what you are doing. What you pay Yanis, is between the two of you. He is developing skills that will serve him and his family well for years. What better way to help someone than to help them grow.
The area behind the library/dining room walls could store folding chairs and tables for future use… BTW - The Yannis interview was captivating. Thank you for that‼️
Haha, the eyeball picture idea is hilarious! Maybe someone can photoshop you and the crew into and old style painting and it could be printed on canvas and they could be looking through your eyes.
Billy, you are " AMAZING." Sorry, I couldn't resist. I do have to say a little bit of humor is wonderful. You and your family and work family are fantastic. Enjoy seeing the progress. Keep up the great work. Oh, and Crack On.
So sweet....learning at an early age 🥰 Yanis has a wonderful relationship with all of you. Sage advice: Anyone commenting otherwise - ignore the negative comments. ❤🤗🌟
My heart sank when I saw the wood beams being loaded up and then recovered when I realized they were being moved to be stored. And then.....SIMON IS COMING BACK!! I have a low key crush on him❤❤😂😂😂.
As someone who has watched your incredible convent videos many times over, I cheer for every "amazing" you exclaim! Now, when my own work gets tough, I find myself saying it too!! I love it!!
You could do the painting with the eye holes, but have the portrait side have several different people and animals so the boys (or other short folks) could get back there and look through the painting or taller adult folks could do the same. Remember that you'll need a panel with the eys painted in that can be slid out of the way so you can look through... I'm sure Michael could paint something that looks like it's from the era the chateau was built... that would be so much fun!
It's wonderful that you are starting to include your son. Before you know it he'll be all grown up working beside you to finish the convent. Your library looks beautiful. It would be nice if you had hidden shelves and access points all around the bottom. Upstairs I think the nooks would look great with little benches to sit and read.
Ernest is the spitting image of you, Billy, both in looks and personality 😊 it’s so lovely to see him learning all these skills working alongside you just like you have with your dad ❤
Billy, I can feel you are more relaxed since Alex has returned & Simon will soon be there. Your sense of humor & off the cuff remarks show it!!! I’m so glad!
The cavity in the walls can also store extra tables for the dining room and folding chairs. You can also make a hidden bar 🥃🍸🍺 in the cavity in the corners where the panels fold open.
I did the same lighting under my pantry shelves, it is ideal if you route into the underside of shelves (or add angled trim to hide the lighting itself) so that the LEDs are at a 45° angle, pointed down toward the back lower corner of the shelf below. That way the lighting lights the contents of the shelves instead of casting stark shadows down the book spines.
Billy big thank you for setting up the buy yanis a coffee page. It is nice that we can show our appreciation to him ourselves. Your a lovely thoughtful man Billy ❤
💕It’s very kind of you to help Yanis this way he is a lovely guy who works extremely hard and is a fast learner💕

A mural depicting the surrounding countryside, all along the top of the library would be absolutely lovely!
❤💯
Sounds like a me job for......
Wait for it...... Michael. 😮😊
Oh wow that’s a great idea!
I was thinking that behind one of those panels should be a hidden bar. A study and a brandy or whiskey just seems to go together.
The big sighs and the animation from Ernest...priceless! Layla is loving the attention. What a great Father/Son team!
Cracked me up ... holds end of tape measure a few times ... sigh ... "This is hard work." 😅

Yanis did a great job during his interview. 😊 I'm sure one day he will be a wonderful dad. He is great with Billy's boys.

Yes was a great interview so enjoyed it

I thought so too ❤
I am sure Yanis has never complained about his pay. He lovescbeing part of Pethericks. Sounds to me like he has a great deal and loves you all
ABSOLUTELY LOVE THAT ERNEST IS THERE!!! That is how they learn and these are Precious Memories for them, Dad! He'll always know Dad had TIME for him!!
What a fantastic apprentice Ernest is. I’ve not seen him for a while. What a handsome lad he is and how he’s grown.
