I just started playing cornhole in local tournaments close to my home once a week. I am. Good enough to compete in the lower bracket and place some times and even won a couple of times. At my age it is more about the competition than the money. It cost me 10.00 but I get that back even if don’t win. The age thing, I will 79 next month.
I think the main complaint for me, is the following. In the ACL the lower level players pay for the top players prize pool. I believe the payout in competitive is only 20% Because of this I limit my participation in the larger events. Once I improve and move up, I might play more sanctioned events.
This past winter, I played in a big blind draw tournament after throwing cornhole for about 2 weeks. It cost me $10, plus 3 racks of ribs that I brought to the potluck. I came in last place. It was worth every penny and then some!
we are playing for entertainment! we dont get paid to play video games. one pays to have fun but can understand that many top advanced and pro players would like the money. who doesnt? LOL overall keep the videos coming!
