Do you Manscape your head?
@@XSDarkMoonZX wondered how a ball shaver compares with a head shaver myself
Stylish balls
Your wife is so hard core
There's just something magical about early 90's death metal
Perfect music for training both hands on the guitar, well actually for training on all the instruments. :)
The thrash is still present
Not just the 90s, don't forget about the late 80s gems of osdm too.
Like extremely magical! Especially if you were say a teenager that's already been into the thrash scene taking in the booming new genre. 1991 was, IMO, the golden year for osdm albums.
Hell yes
5:30 That's what makes this old school death metal so cool. They were all pushing everything to the limits including their own abilities, thus inspiring a new generation of players that used death metal as a starting baseline and pushed things even further. These dudes had no click track, minimal editing, limited studio time, it was just authentic as fuck. Love it!
Exactly and the vocals too were ballsy. Everyone uses the same technique now a days that they all sound the same.
Her gallops are fucking badass, they sound full and in your face! Genuine metal!
I'm gonna be on such a Deicide kick now. Those Bible Basher riffs are too frickin' sick.
Scars of the Crucifix is an anthem
I'm not religious but it's kind of cringe to continuously make fun of Christians. While bands that do the same about Judaism or Islam are seen as Nazi bands. That's why bands like GBK are so great because they don't discriminate along religious lines. They talk shit about all of them.
Grand Belial's Key!!!!
@@SoulSuckerOvReality6 Kohanic Charmers is AOTY in my opinion.
@@sarahwolfe1154 Dean and Claine should learn some Arghoslent riffs
She's so exited about these riffs, it so cool to watch. Some of the most challenging riffs from the Old School Death Metal in my opinion are from Monstrosity's Millennium album as far as endurance..
Oh man, the whole pre-verse section of opening track is sick AF to play. But amount of fun is totally worth it!
I remember meeting Pat O'Brien of Cannibal Corpse after a show in the early 2000s, and he mentioned he was a touring guitar player for Monstrosity in the 90s. He said that shit was the hardest stuff he'd ever played. Granted this was probably before Frantic Disembowelment was written, but still.
No lie, I'm sure I could get the staccato power chord section towards the end of Stormwinds down if I stopped being a bitch, but damn that song is tough. So rewarding, tho!
That album is just about the most insane riff collection ever, somewhere around Time Does Not Heal by Dark Angel. That one will turn your tendons into f'ing steel wire.
MONSTROSITY MILLENNIUM - 1 of the 90s BEST DM records of it's time! A technical masterpiece filled with some of the heaviest grooves at the same time. Lee Harrison IS possibly the MOST underrated MUSICIAN in the scene, givin the fact that NOT ONLY IS HIS drumming amazing but, he's a hellava guitar player and WRITER too. NOT to mention his skills with music production TOO! I wish I had just "a bit" of his musical mastery. I was doing good just to play Metal drums🥁 back in the day. LOL. HAILZ LEE and the mighty MONSTROSITY!!! 🤘🔥🤘
Honestly, Claire would be an awesome fit in Deicide.
I think we all realize it, but let's verbalize it: Claire is more of a badass than most of us will ever hope to be.
pretty much haha
Na I'll bury her on some old school death metal riffs quick but she is mighty mighty impressive and all nothing but respect from here
Never been much of a fan of Deicide vocals but that last riff, in particular, got the involuntary headbanging going. The gallops and pinch harmonics took this old boy back.
Incineratehymn was the first Deicide CD I ever heard/purchased. My grandma had to buy it for me cause it has a parental advisory sticker on it and I was staying w her for the weekend. She always took me to the record store when I'd visit. She was bad ass! She got me into George Carlin too.
Cool grandma!
@@victors4786 she absolutely was!
God damnit she must have been so cool
If the day comes that I become a grandpa, I will shamelessly steal a page or two from your grandma's playbook 😁
Incyneratehymn is NOT legit DEICIDE okay? I mean listen to that CD (and that horrible one after it) and compare those 2 CDs to ANY of the previous 4 DEICIDE CDs before em. They wanted OUT of their horrible ROADRUNNER record label contract and THREW those 2 CDs out as a result. LOTTA the younger deth heads seemingly do not know THAT/THIS. It WAS actually a VERY dark time for the mighty DEICIDE as Death Metal was on a HUGE rise in late 90s -early 2000s. And DEICIDE then, as a group? 🤔😞 Well anyways, they obviously DID come back by "cutting away the fat" and bringing in new guitarists and? The REST, IS history....😏 Sorry, your grandma WASTED her good $$$ on that POS. 😞ROCK the funk ON!!! 🤘🔥🤘
This was rad, Claire killed it. Love old school death metal so much, please do more of Morbid Angel, Suffocation, Entombed, Dismember, Pestilence, Vader…
Wolverine Blues was such fire as the kids say these days
@@raidermaxx2324That album blew chunks, as the kids of that era say 😂
You know, something I've noticed in this video is how great Dean's economy of movement is (which is why he's also able to play all the insane Archspire stuff).
I think that's something a lot of people overlook/miss when they're trying to play faster and have better endurance.
And definitely something I need to work :D Great video you guys!
You think he can waste movements IN THIS ECONOMY!
@@dougsrosen LMAO
I used to be a strict alternate picker but because of 9% inflation ive had to switch to economy picking
I noticed that too, she was playing like a dumb metal bro, like how you're "supposed to do it" and he was playing like a dainty Grey alien from Blood Incantation's "hidden history of the human race" album cover.
You guys are the most wholesome couple who say fuck a lot
people who are actually wholesome realize there are much more important things than avoiding no-no words😮
@@sirfizz6518 exactly 😂
Claire's level of excitement took this video to the next level, loved it
Claire's level of excitement takes this video to another level. Love it!
Also, I've never listened to Deicide, these riffs have made me want to check it out!
I love the song "Blame it on God"
The older you go the better Deicide gets
Serpents of the Light. Its riff city.
As much as I was into all things thrash & death metal in the late 80's, early 90's, I recall getting their first album. Threw it into my cassette walkman for a first go while on an airplane & it scared the shit outta me so much I put it away in case I'd conjure some hellish sky demon & crash the plane LOL. I was 16 ok??
Once upon the cross is the PERFECT old school death metal album... all killer no filler, riffs for days, catchy as fuck, production is perfect, every song is memorable... if for whatever reason you haven't heard it stop what you're doing immediately and go listen to it!
seeing you two play together always makes my day just a little bit better... ok prob not just a little bit
Thanks!
I just found this channel. And I have to say. It is awesome to see two metal head musicians like this as a couple.
This is dream-like movie-esque levels of romance type shit and I fuck with it. \m/
A couple that metals together, stays together.
This video made me realize how subconsciously influenced I am by old school death metal. Like these 0-1-3- chuggy fast riffs are shit that I LOVE to freaking do. Gonna learn some Deicide riffs now
Deicide's first album is so awesome. The mix done by Scott Burns makes it a fully inmersive experience
I'm not sure which one of you edits these, but they're fucking delightful and please never stop making them.
I love this so much. You've successfully managed to make old school Deicide wholesome.
Fun fact; Glen Benton lives in my home town. I went to a buddies birthday party and he was there. My buddy grew up with his son. He’s actually a great dude.
Gotta get on some Vital Remains riffs now. Dave Suzuki is a crazy guitar player (and bassist and drummer).
And vocalist 😂
Vital Remains is so good man.
It would be LEGENDARY to have Dave or Tony for 4 Levels of Death Metal
I like that he said he’s gonna write more dumb guy riffs…I like those
Deicide was the band that actually got me into Death Metal, I remember listening to a part of Bastard of Christ over and over again in the audio section of MSN Messenger Plus. Good times.
My new school ass was Gojira. But Deicide absolutely rules, my second fav old school death metal behind Death itself
Same for me, and got to see them live here in UK at Bradford Queens Hall when they were touring their self titled album around 1990ish. They had Cancer supporting them, it was amazing. They blew me away with how tight they were, just as good as the album if not better. Remember Steve Asheim, their drummer at the bar next to me ordering an orange juice drink which I found weird plus how small he was too. Glenn Benton also had his Bass stolen and had to borrow the Bass from Cancer Bassist.
It was a great time then getting to see all these death metal bands, got to see Morbid Angel on their Alters of Madness tour around the same time plus many other bands. Another good gig was Pestilence with Malevolent Creation supporting in a very small pub in Sheffield.
Heck yeah! Deicide is CLASSIC!
The Hoffmans DESERVE more recognition
You two are great. Thanks for the nostalgic vibes.
True story. I put Deicide on in the pub before. Dead by Dawn and a woman was outraged and started filming me whilst complaining that the music was awful. I apologised by putting on 7 more deicide songs. She left haha
I had a similar experience with Brutal Truth which I followed on the complaint with God Of Emptiness 9 times.
@@bighammyrfc haha nice one man 🤘
Done this a number of times along with buddies of mine, never got a complaint though. In Seattle their use to be a bar (Waterwheel I think its called) where metal heads would show up and take over the jukebox, fun times.
Life is hard for religious people.
Mind you, they're supposed to turn the other cheek and be charitable to their oppressors, but...
I bet you must have felt so superior and cool then
Claire is having such a good time with this one
This video was so fun-I’d love to see more like this!
Hey!
Great episode guys. Deicide was one of the bands I listened to growing up. Still love all the albums with the Hoffman brothers. Just classic shit
We need to see other bands as well. Suffocation, Immolation, Morbid Angel etc.
I love Immo and MA (and Death,, Obituary, etc) , but imo the best OSDM was made on our side of the big pond: Entombed (first 2 albums), Dismember, Grave, Carnage, Unleashed, Therion a.o.
And Entombed
Suffocation writes some tough ass riffs
@@kickassboardride Who cares?
suffocation would be tight af, they have some super technical riffs
Great stuff! Hope to get more content from them in this format!!
I love how both guitar tones compliment each other when you play together!
Super sick! Loved the video
Gonna check out Deicide now!!
Excellent video, you guys are both badass and also refreshingly wholesome. Relationship goals, love it, and love your band Archspire!
Love OSDM. Love you guys. Very entertaining as always.
Loved this episode, thanks
This was a great watch. Deicide are one of my all time favourites.
Those riffs are sick man. Just so incredibly heavy. I know what I'm listening on my next flight :D
Dude these riffs are making me so hype to write some metal or at least play it! I love the last 2 levels because they are thrash but with an sneaky kind of underlying groove to them. Badass! It’s got me mouthing them out in my head and wishing I had my guitar with me right now.
You guys are awesome! Thanks for the video
I’m going to learn those riffs right after the video !
Dope video 👌🏼
This video was great, lots of fun seeing you both play these awesome riffs. It inspired me to learn some songs from some of my favorite old-school death metal bands, so I went and played Morbid Angel and Incantation for a while. 🔥
Don't give up your melody Dean. It's one of the things that makes Archspire amazing. You have fantastic technical melody
luv these riffs... especially the third one
Great vid, love your energy together. Very sweet :)
Really enjoyed this video!!
Y'alls tattoos are so dope I've never noticed them before.
Awesome Episode as always
This was such a treat y'all. Deicide have such a sick vibe
I love that my friend showed me this channel. One of those 1 in a Million finds.
Love it.
The timer and the non serious approach to the ad read was great, listened to the whole thing. Yay monetize!
love you guys
more of this please!
Time to listen to Deicide again
Love videos like this. I started my death metal journey essentially in reverse with more modern bands. Bands like Deicide, Morbid Angel, and Death are completely foreign to me. Time to go on a deep dive.
I love Deicide, great quality Dean!
This makes me even more excited about seeing Deicide on their 30th anniversary Legion tour next month 🤘🏻
I love how you guys just lowkey backhand each other with snide comments the entire time this was hella entertaining to watch hahaha
Seeing Claine get into the songs makes this so good
The couple that Jams together stays together. Rock on you 2🤘
"Standard" tuning being E-flat, is such a metal head frame of mindset I find so relatable 😂
Loveee this video
I love this make more of them.
Deicide rips, now we need some Vital Remains action, alongside some more OSDM like Unleashed, Grave, Bolt Thrower, Suffocation, and on and on and on :D
unleasheds riffs are amazing but their lyricism is so terrible
@@Roman-me5bi Haha I mean for what it was at the time in the early '90's it was pretty on par, but I feel that. "Where No Life Dwells" is still a staple/ Benchmark album, love it!
You two are the best
She killed it on this!
Love it
That was so awesome to see
Love these two! 💀
You handled that Ball add like a professional ball handler. I was able to see Deicide 3 times in the LA area . Great live show.
Good to see this thank you
once upon the cross was a huge part of my high school mp3 playlist, that album is still my fave by them
Sick riffs
Dean way killer! You guys are tearing it up!
Kiesel guitars and a vault-tec bobby in the background, yeezus! Good stuff! And then there's the riffs!
The editing 😂 I come here for the content but the editing is just next level.
Killer!
Love how amped the good lady gets for deicide, shit is straight up infectious..!!!!
Could you turn this into a series maybe? Just your wife showing you all her favorite death metal riffs? I'd watch every single one.
Yes and you can you also put her in a thong for us????LOL....
Cause remember...this is your channel....she has to do what you tell her to do......
8:14 you could say he is a Lamb of god
Good one.
y’all are the best couple i’ve ever seen 🎸 🖤
I ran sound for deicide for my 7th concert running sound ever in Billings Montana, and it’s still one of my favorite shows I’ve ever done. Idk if you’ve heard of them but check out seasons of suffering. You’ll love them as well
What a great four levels of death metal!!!! 🤘🤘🤘 I love deicide!!!!
Love Claire's smile playing riff #3!
As soon as i pay off my fm3 i think I’m gonna buy a Kissel. There’s so many guitars i would want but every time i come to this channel and see yours i immediately feel the urge to get one.
Subbed here! Nice production and nice people! Shred on!
Interesting technique from dean on the triplets for the last song, awesome song choice and fun episode overall!
Lowkey was hoping for Homage for Satan as the opener riff though.
down up down, up down up is a lot faster and more efficient than just repeating down up down, even though it feels easier at first.
Oblivious one of my fave Deicide jams
Frickin' awesome \m/
BTW much love love the channel! also ARCHSPIRE! come to Denmark again!
"they're all going to be deicide riffs" I sincerely appreciate the heads up and saved myself some time ✌
Deicide is such a great band. 🤘🏾
Dean seemed to capture the trepid fear when dealing with a real Deicide or Slayer fan lol Great acting my friend!
Better get with it, Dean. All those oldschool DM guys are the real deal. Without them you would not exist lmao
haha what a silly flex! He doesn't need to "get" with anything, look at his wife sucker, hes in a band he enjoys and he comes home (or they come home together) to that incredibly woman! You're just desperate and looking for someone to bring down cause of your own ego.
We opened for Amon (Hoffman Bros.) a couple of years ago back when they were active. Brian is good friends with our guitarist Freddy.
This is so brusome as in wholesome but still brutal.
Good riffs for sure.
More OSDM stuff would be awesome! Or even some modern bands that do the style pretty well.
