I picked up the Sun Joe version for transferring water from an IBC tote that is by my barn into one on a trailer to haul water to the garden. It worked okay for one battery charge once I got it to start, switched batteries and tried again and got some smoke instead of water. I need to contact for warranty repair but when it worked it pumped water pretty fast.
I use the one from ryobi to remove water from my boat. I think that more people would actually get these pumps if they could handle salt water. what ends up happening is that i end up running about 100L of freshwater through once im done and giving it more oil then it needs. Its a time and backsaver but i think for sure the market would be so much bigger.
Hey I'm in the dairy production business. & they use that kind of pump in the trucks that transport milk from farms to the processing plants. Even though these pumps in milk trucks are quite a bit bigger. They're still pretty much the same setup. the outer parts are stainless steel instead of plastic but they still have the same type of rubber impeller. & these pumps are belt driven with a 3 to 5 h.p. or maybe even bigger motor. if they are dialed in right these pumps can properly pump a couple thousand gallons of milk in less than an hour.
There is a small mistake in the video. You put the priming oil in the discharge port, while instructions say "Place 2 drops of priming oil into the intake port".
Just got this for a portable concession stand sink. Haver to build a 3 compartment sink + a single handwashing sink as per the board of health for my temporary lemonade stand. I'm hoping this would be good to pull clean water from a 5 gal tub up, into a propane heater and then to the faucets. The battery operated aspect is what most appeals to me being I would only have power if I bought a generator or inverter.
I couldn't believe how quick it pumps water matter of a few minutes to pump three 6 gallon containers I figured I'd have to start it and then go inside and sit for a while then come back out and check it but before I could get out of the back of the pickup it was done three 6 gallon containers in just a couple of minutes I set my truck camper off at the campsite so I need to have some way to put water in it it works perfect
I went all in on them when I found out they were expanding the lineup. Got the Earthquake impacts for the hardcore suspension/drivetrain work, but the Bauer have been great tools for everything I do in the shop. Got rid of the compressor, air lines, etc. and haven't looked back. Made short work of the driveline bolts on a 2004 Cobra and those suckers are notorious for being a B. If you abuse your tools, then maybe a more expensive lineup is a better option...but I take care of my stuff and these will last. We don't want our tools to last forever though, we want to buy NEW tools!
Ya tools like this and the heat gun and like the cheap fan are the reasons I'm looking at an adapter for my milwaukee batteries to work with those tools
Can u use this at the bottom of a rain barrel and connect to the Spicket and connect your hose and water the garden??? No incline hose and on a flat area. ????? 🙏🏻
I use one to transfer fuel oil from drums to the tanks in the house using a porter cable battery adapter that I bought off of Ebay for $20. I already have a dozen porter cable 20v batteries so why buy another battery?
I don't have a use for it, but I can see how it could help in a pinch. Wonder how long it would last. Say someone uses it to drain a swimming pool once or twice a year. How many years could they get out of it before it quits? I know that can't be answered until someone has done it.
Question speaking of pumps. I’ve been using the $9.99 battery fuel transfer pump from HF but they only last 3 months before they die. Do you have any suggestions for a reliable fuel xfer pump? Even the $70 ones on Amazon have a high failure rate. Thx
Any label on the "oil" ??? wondering if it is safe for transferring drinking water? I am thinking of using it for transferring water to my camp trailer when I am out "boondocking"
The ABC in the mash is low enough that I don't think it would be an issue as long as you flush it out afterwards. I would not use it to pump high ABV spirits.
Has anyone gotten one of these to work with the 120v wall outlet power adapter it comes with? I have had 3 of these now, and i've had to use battery with all of them, because out of the box the power adapter just straight up doesn't work. these things will not power on with 120 volts. The manual doesn't give any special instructions either, it's just plug it in and turn it on, but it doesn't turn on. 3 of them over the course of 2-3 years and none of them work with 120 what gives?
I use mine to fill my rv water tank while Im camping. No need to pull the trailer into town for water. I just fill 4 7 gallon tanks in the bed of the truck, pull the truck up to the trailer and transfer the water with no heavy lifting. I also use it to wash the dog while Im camping so I dont have to fill the grey water tank. She gets pretty dirty out here. Only complaint I have is the noise it makes but hey....its still not as anoying as my ex girlfriend!
Had to call the company to have them explain the suction filter, max head lift, and impeller (which I did not get right off). Would it be possible to add these details into a video for other single moms afraid to ask questions and possibly have learning disabilities? Don’t pick or laugh ppl. I’m learning as a single mom without help on certain tools.
I'd love to use this to pump water from our rain collection barrel. Does anyone know if this pump can be used on-demand or does it run constantly if connected to a hose sprayer?
I bought a second one since the first one just quit working. Thought it worked great while it lasted and maybe...maybe it was a defective machine....but the SECOND one stopped working as well. What a waste of money. Will never by another.
just got one for $30! really excited to try this on my pool to get rid of old water!
Lucky you! I waited a little longer and had to pay 40 bucks i also got the chemical sprayer. I plan on using it to maintenance my water heater
I use this on my detail tank even tho I could use gravity feeding , this pump ensures flow and much quicker flow at that , so far so good
Thanks! I was wondering if these would work for a 65 gallon tank
Does it ever shut off? Since its self priming? Do you turn pressure washer on first or pump?
What’s the psi on your pressure washer

I use it for oil 0w20 works fine going in 2 years
I bought one today I use it for emptying secondary water pans in attic. For hvac

Kicks butt removing rain water on our pool cover, and boat cover as well.
It would be interesting to see what two or three connected together with a 3/4" to 1" fitting and a 1" hose would do.
Bought one to transfer water from a natural spring through a filter and into the camping trailer
Would be good for emptying out the last gallons from a hot tub that the drain does not get.
Maybe to drain a small pool, i wonder how long a battery would last.

Lot of them Bauer tools look nice. Wish they had Bauer before Joe Smith bought dewalt years ago.

@@MoragTong_ thanks for info!
I use one for winterizing Hvac chillers heat exchangers on roofs , pumps glycol without an issue
Just bought your book! That's where I might use it.
Flush a tank-less water heater.
I guess Im kinda randomly asking but do anybody know a good site to stream newly released series online ?
You don't need to prime this thing? That's epic right there. I have one I use to drain my waterbed and it's a nuisance.
3 yrs after this review, they have this pump in stock at HF for $39.99
So this pump would not be recommend for fuel? I use a 55 gallon drum of methanol sick if having to use a hand syphon pump
No, most fuels would eat the rubber internals of the pump.
@@denoftools thanks for the reply
Would this be good for transferring water to pressure washer for mobile detailing
I’d like to know the same. Did you try it?
?
I use a hand pump to transfer home heating oil from a 55 gallon drum to a tank. Having one that is electric would be alot easier.
would an electric pump like this be good for oil?

Good for transferring wine into different 5 gallon carboys or even Hefeweizen.

What do you think of the Mallif. WP DCB 20 transfer pump. ? It use's Dewalt Battery's Thank you Bruce.

Buy a Jiggeler hose You won't be disappointed.
Use it all the time to drain water from HVAC drain pans.
Do u think this would run a 4 gallon minute pressure washer out of a tank to the washer
I have an off grid homestead and I can pump water out of the lake for my livestock how fast can it fill an ibc tote
Can this be used for on demand when watering plants? Also can use desalt 20 volt battery? Tks

can you use it to pump vinegar? want to flush out a tankless water heater
Leave it outside in the rain? with or without battery. Will it still work?
Idk how well this would work for moonshining lol. Im no expert but wouldn't the alcohol damage the rubber pump components and seals?

Don’t use plastic for any kind of high proof alcohol. You’d ruin the plastic and poison the alcohol.

The new Bauer Power Sucky Uppy, gettem while they’re hot!
is this pump rated to pump fuel? Most interested in Diesel fuel transfer. Thanks, Mike in Lincoln, Ne
I’d like to know this as well , if anyones used it for oil and diesel
How dirty can the water be can you use it for a backup sump pump

I wonder if this (and the Ryobi) can pump faster on 110v
Will this pump diesel and gas?
how would this work transferring def?
I'd love to use this to pump water from our rain collection barrel. Does anyone know if this pump can be used on-demand or does it run constantly if connected to a hose sprayer?
can you use it with a nozzle?
Daumm its loud, i got a drummond and its quiet.
Would this pump work for oil?
Wouldn't transfer oil ?
Can you do gasoline ?!
No
Most gas has ethanol which would ruin the rubber seals in the pump
What about making wine
Isn't this the same as the Ryobi one?
Since it's no good for fuel, I have zero use for this. Too bad though, looked kinda cool until that revelation.
It is a brushed motor I guess reason it's so loud.
Shine on bear
Maybe for home brewers looking to transfer wort in the brewing process?
90 day warranty is the killer
