I’m probably switching into a bi pap. I’ve had the thr cpap for almost 8 months and at level 20 for air every night. It’s definitely helped my obstructive sleep apnea. It definitely took me a while to get used too due to all my medical operations around my face. But , it’s very worth getting this help at night. I don’t wake up gasping for air any more. ❤
Thank you for a nice clear explanation !! I have a ResMed AirCurve 10 VAUTO......What is involved in changing this machine over, to become an ASV machine? Would this be a software/algorithm upgrade/change, or do I need an entirely new machine ?? Thanks !!!
Hello Gerard, In order to switch over from your current machine to another. It would have to be documented that what you have is not working to eliminate your Apneic events. Once that's done a new sleep study in facility would be needed to determine what type of machine you may need at this time, if at all. That is a more advanced unit and the settings need to be correct and precise. What made you come to the conclusion an ASV is needed may I ask?
Update 9 days ago my husband was put on ventilator. He is not improving. I am going to talk to his doctor about donating plasma for my husband. Anyone with plasma info pls answer
Hi Ameer, If you are asking about how much the BIPAP cost. There are different models and manufacturers of the machines as any. They can run from $1,200 to $1,800 depending. Please let me know how else I can assist you, if needed.
my doctor recommended bilevel since cpap was not working for my sleep apnea. I don't have central sleep apnea and they ad me at 20 over 9 in the lab. it was awful, couldn't breathe, it breathed too fast for me, just awful. cpap is far superior but no one listens to me.
Hi, Thanks for reaching out. Usually the studies determine the therapy needs and the pressures needed as well. A lot of time due to the amount of pressure patient's feel it is not right for them so the go to a lesser pressure that is comfortable but is not meeting there needs as it should. It is really about the mask I tell people constantly and allowing yourself to get adjusted. But I am glad you found something that works and fixes your Sleep Apnea, Keep it up!!
I have not started bipod yet as I'm trying to convince my doctor it is not necessary. I t was horrible, bloating, too noisy, stomach aching, headache from lack of sleep. When I was on my back, they increased it to 30, the mask leaked so badly I loaded it. now when I use cpap, my a h I goes from 2 to 47, my pressure is 11 and I can comply iwth it though it's not helping my apneas very much.@@Sleeplayground

I would recommend l, anyone with the means, to buy these machines outright. Even with insurance the cost add up.
